We stayed the month of February. Very nice park. Maybe 27 sites. Lovely main road made of brick pavers. $80 Palm trees and sea oates. All sites are gravel and very spacious. A few sites owned by individuals are concrete. Grounds are clean and well maintained along with pools, cook shack, observation tower and dock. Jimmy will greet you, direct you to your site and help anyway he can. Good grassy area for dogs. Cable, good wifi. No laundry facility on site. Very quiet. Would stay here again if in area. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Fifth Wheel.

Stopped here because they are in the Passport America system. I was told they have a minimum two day stay rule. This was in the middle of the week The book says unlimited stays. From what we could see from the entrance it appeared to be all permanents. Not somewhere we wanted to stay for 2 days. Certainly not anywhere near what the web site shows. Beware the road in, its a rig shaker. We moved on. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice place if you are passing through.

One lovely pool but there is another pool that is partially drained and full of gross, stagnant water. For some reason, only part of the dock is finished. Pretty dangerous and definitely an eyesore.

Restrooms are small, dark and dirty. Shower is open to entire restroom an water goes everywhere. Very difficult to shower without everything getting wet, unless you stack your items on the closed toilet lid. Yuck.

Nice campers, but unfortunately the camp host couple was far from friendly. Despite allowing their dog off leash, the female host screamed at us for allowing our dog to play fetch. Screamed. Very unprofessional. Their dog also charged ours while off leash, without so much as an apology from them.

Paved road and fairly level sites. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

This park is definitely one of a kind. Pet friendly. Scenic views of the Carrabelle River, Dog Island, and St George Island. There is a boat launch at the end of the road. The sunsets are incredible. The amount of green space is some of the best I've seen. The landscaping is well-kept. The roads are brick paved. The 900 square foot swimming pool was what kept me there on and off over 3 years, along with the owners who took it over. Great people. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

Great place to put in a boat. No walking beach access. Pool was lovely and we spent a lot of time relaxing. Great spots for kids. A small playground would be a nice addition. Please bring bug spray as there are horrible attacking yellow flies! Loved the brick road. Kids were able to ride bikes all around. Staff was great !! Loved the huge pool & cooking shack. Only 1 of the 2 pools were open during our stay however the one pool was big enough & wasn't crowded. The kids loved the little slide in the pool. Nice paved roads. Convenient location not too far from St. George Island. The only problem we had were the yellow flies and ants were bad. Came home with several bug bites. Would def. recommend this park and will stay there again when in the area. Beautiful park & area. Only the sites #49 & below have cable. So if you want cable on your site do not stay in lots 50 or above. We didn't know that when we initially arrived and had to change site numbers in order to obtain cable. We did so without any problems. Very friendly and helpful staff on duty. Would recommend this campground again. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

There are only a few RV parks to choose from when you drive up to and through the FL Panhandle on the scenic route on Rt. 98. We found Sunset Isle by chance when we were looking for a place to stay for a couple of nights. This RV park was not really meant to be because it is quite obvious that this was supposed to be a gated residential community once you enter the property and drive past the gate house. Wide brick pavered roads which now lead you to 27 full hookup RV sites. When we called to make our reservation and told them about our 45' RV, they were hesitant, stating they only had 2 sites large enough for us. Once we were on location and walked the park, we found that all but 1 site would easily accommodate a 45'. Our site was deep and wide enough to park our toad in front of the bus and our trailer right next to the bus. This is a very quiet park located adjacent to the Carrabelle River on Timber Island (about 1 mile off of Rt. 98). Everything is clean and well taken care of by the onsite manager. He also was kind enough to use his pickup truck to help with parking our trailer which had a problem with the dropleg. This RV park has a HUGE swimming pool. We had been to a 700 sites RV campground recently and their pool was less than half of the pool they have at Sunset Isle for 27 sites. While this is certainly a pool which was meant for a residential community, RV'ers do now benefit from it. There is a riverfront marina and a waterfront restaurant just a few steps away from the park. We checked out the marina which is large enough for large fishing boats. We did not try the restaurant but were told that it offers a good selection of fresh seafood. Sunset Isle is a hidden pearl and well worth a visit. We will visit here again and recommend this resort to our friends, too. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you want to go to the beach, then take a ride out to St. George Island, home of the 2 State parks. It takes about 30 minutes to get there by car and you access the island via a 7 miles long bridge (Bryant Patton Bridge / Rt. 300).

Campground clean, big lot easy to park (back-in). On Wednesday night they had a potluck, all campsites could come if they wanted. Had a lot of fun. The long term campers were so nice, funny and interesting. Only stayed 4 nights, will come back again for longer. The only small problem was the No see them flies. They liked us too much! Overall Rating:

This is currently an RV park, however all the sites are for sale so perhaps after they are all sold this will become a private area only. The park has good roads. All the sites are back-ins with plenty of room except they are all on your blind side. The hook-ups are toward the rear of the site so you may need extra hoses. The water is good and the Wi-Fi worked fine. All sites have only 50 amp so if you need 30 amp be sure to have a reducer. There is only one rest room and shower that is actually connected to the pool. The directions are OK to get to the park, but the road is not marked with any type of RV sign. it is the turn just west of the bridge. The rate is Passport America. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Fifth Wheel.

A very nice will maintained friendly condo park. $48+ first night $24+ second night. Was not told Passport America was not valid on weekends when I made reservations. Not told extra charge for 50amp electric, or extra charge for cable TV. I was told I could keep my toad connected but they have no pull throughs. No bathhouse/restrooms and loud music at bar next to park on Saturday night. OK Sunday night. The park dog runs free. Very friendly but no one picks up after her. We would stay here again if just passing through but they need to quote the full price when reservations are made. Park deserves a higher rating but they need to be honest to get it. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

Well maintained, quiet and clean home site park renting empty spaces until all are sold. Wide brick roads, wide, near level, gravel sites, no shade. Friendly staff, beautiful unheated pool; hot spa broken and no indication of repair work being scheduled. Internet had typical insufficient bandwidth, so it was inconsistent. Huge open areas for dog walking. No laundry. One and a half miles to Carrabelle Beach. PA rate. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice place and owner is very friendly and helpful. Sites are very spacious. Nice water views from the decks. Internet was good. Power was 50amp, but they supplied an adapter to 30amp. Nice seafood restaurant and lounge across the lane (easy walk about 300 yards). Grounds are well kept. Pool is nicely kept, but not heated. I would stay here again, hopefully for a longer stay. Rate shown was the weekend rate. Passport America rates available during weekdays. Most of the residents are longer term. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Travel Trailer.

Nice park. Sites were to be sold but the market changed owners mind. Roomy sites, close to town, clean. Price reflects Passport America discount. Paver block roads and pads. We would stay here again. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

A very nice park along Federal 98. Management could not have been nicer or more helpful. Our site (#47) was spacious & level packed sand/gravel with adequate access. Electric was 123 volts. We did not use park water or sewer hookups. The park was about ¼ occupied during out stay, and was very quiet. The only negative were dogs off leash and barking. Rate is Passport America with 50 amp electric. Tax not included. We'd stay here again. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Motorhome.

We took our grandchildren camping at this park for spring break. The beach was only a mile away and the river was within walking distance. We took along kayaks and enjoyed the views along the river. Fishing was available off the docks. There are two swimming pools at this park, a deeper one for teens and adults and a more shallow on for the small children. A nice playground was also available. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Several good restaurants were available in town. We definitely plan to return to this campground. We camped at Sunset Isle RV & Yacht in a Fifth Wheel.
