19 Parks near Christmas, Florida
May 2015 - $37.00
Sites that have plenty of width and length was my first impression. Roads make it easy maneuvering for big rigs and are bladed gravel. Sites are level with grass, gravel and a few concrete. Some have patios and decks I suspect constructed by the returning winter campers. Everywhere is shaded some time during the day and Sat. link worked fine...they offer cable too. Utilities were up to spec and are in pretty convenient locations. The owners live onsite and create a friendly neighborhood. Some type of maintenance goes on regularly. Facilities are spaced out thru the park, convenient to most sites. This park is in the country, but located right off Hwy 50 with very little traffic or noise...supplies are 10 min. away. The park is on our return list. - duster340
Mar 2015 - $45.00
I love this park! We discovered it last fall when we were driving home from a race and wanted a place to stop for the night. We had a DP pulling a 32ft enclosed trailer. They were able to find us a site without us unhooking. We became fans on that day. We spent New Years here and go for the occasional weekend so we have a good feel for the different times of the year in this park.
Rustic meets modern is a good word to describe it. This is a safe place with lots of trees, winding dirt roads and plenty of room to work around it. Easy in and out off the main road.
The park is a mishmash of woods and charm mixed with sheds, outbuildings and some older campers. Throw in a few Airstreams and huge late model busses. If you are looking for upscale beauty this may not be the place for you. We love it for the old Florida feel. A good number of the folks are full timers and we have found them to be friendly and welcoming. The park is very quiet at night. Around 8:00am people start to stir, talk outside, trash is picked up. It is not super noisy, but it is worth noting.
Sites have 50amp with good water pressure. The ground is grass or hard gravel. The trees are kept trimmed. We have never had an issue leveling.
The game room has a huge TV, sofa's, pool table, games etc.
Bathrooms are spotless.
We have a 41ft DP and have plenty of room to put out all four slides. We have, on occasion had issues getting our satellite to work because of all the trees. They do advertise WIFI but we bring our own hotspot.
The office hours are very short. They have open sites after hours. You drive up to registration and they have slips with what sites are available. - sjrmathis
Jan 2015 - $45.00
Pretty roomy sites, however all dirt or grass, all roads dirt. There are a few spots here and there with a concrete patio available. No fire pit and a small picnic table. Low water pressure. The hosts seem nice enough, however they work very limited hours so you hardly see them. The office is only open 0900-1:00pm. No store but they do have a small kitchen that they sell some food items. - Chicopiloto
Jun 2016 - $36.00
This is a park where all sites are owned. Some are just slabs to park on and others may have homes with RV covers. Some owners rent out. Rate was very reasonable. Had a beautiful site overlooking one of the small lakes. There is a restaurant and café on site. Also, has a service center on site. This was very helpful as my a/c wasn't working well. Eagle Service took care of everything by sending someone to diagnose at my site, handled all the extended warranty to have the a/c replaced and helped get a "chill grill" expedited to add on to the new a/c. Couldn't have had better care anywhere and all service was right on time. - IntrepidCampers
Mar 2016 - $1.00
We were traveling with Adventure Caravans on a paid tour so I am not certain about the nightly rate.
We were parked in the rally area, a large parking lot with power and water. It was disappointing. However, the rest of the park has privately owned campsites, many with shelters. Some areas of the park have older structures. Some are brand new. From what we were told people coming in are assigned lots randomly, so there is no telling what area you will be in. There is a nice dog park. - Dreaming
Jan 2016 - $42.00
During the "snowbird" season rentals can be difficult to get for more then a short stay. Sites are large with plenty of room between sites and backing-in a large coach is not a problem in most areas. Full hook-ups, paved sites and roads. There's lots to do and shopping is close by. There is an on-site RV repair facility if you are having issues. The rates were for a monthly stay. - Oliver-Max
Feb 2011 - $35.00
Excellent: perfect campground for planning space shuttle launch viewings, very close to Titusville, no deposit required, no check-in or check-out time, very flexible, very friendly staff, customer service is the best, restaurant bar serves excellent foods and drinks, great prices, airboat rides are excellent and fun too. Needs improvement: Hatbill Road into the campground is not paved, super bumpy road, they need to have this road paved, terrible shaking while driving in. The RV sites are all on grass so you will have to find the perfect spot and use blocks to help get perfectly level. No sewer connections but there is a dump station. Has tons of mosquitoes. - univmd
Jan 2010 - $25.00
What a great place. We love the peace and quiet of being on the river without all the city/traffic noises. Air boats are right in the area, but the sound didn't bother us. There is a restaurant/bar & grill on the premises with great food. Management couldn't have been better. Top notch people. Huge area for animals/kids to play. If you are looking for "resort" with all the fancy stuff you never use, this isn't the place. If you want nature, solitude and beauty, you'll love it here. We will definitely be back. Would have given it a 10 if they had septic. - palmersfour
Jul 2016 - $21.00
Very nice accessible park close to I-95. We stayed 1 night while travelling off season in our class B MH - no slides or toad. Timer on shower was a pain, but can be outsmarted. Very nice staff. Cash only for Passport discount. Gate entry gives a bit of extra security. We would stay here again. - KAZIMIRA
Jun 2016 - $21.00
Stayed five days during a holiday weekend. Many snowbirds have left so we had no problem getting in this park, and it was pretty quiet. Since we got the Passport America rate we had to pay cash. We stayed in a premium site in an area which has large, paved, level back-in sites. There is no shade in this area. There are a fair number of permanent RVs but many were closed up for the summer. There are two pools next to the clubhouse, one is a lap pool. A small book exchange and a few exercise machines are in the clubhouse. Laundry is $1.50/load. The park is gated and the staff keep it very clean. We noticed a tennis court, small nature trail, horseshoe pit, pickleball area, several small ponds but since it is not peak season, no one was using these amenities. The wifi worked well for us and cable tv is available. The office staff are friendly and helpful. - mohocamper
Apr 2016 - $22.00
Many different types of sites from gravel to paved, with and without concrete pads. We had a lovely gravel site under huge shade trees and plenty of room for our slide outs. We were able to set up a portable fence around our sitting area for the dogs. The staff was very friendly. They have 2 swimming pools (one heated and one not), a hot tub, and a rec hall. - T Farmer
Jun 2016 - $25.00
Nice shady park, although there is grass, most sites are sandy. We had a nice shady spot with a water view. RV sites have electric, water & sewer
Restrooms/showers , laundry clean and well maintained. WiFi was free but not fantastic
There is a pier on the river and we found this a great place to watch the launch at Cape Canaveral. There is also large fenced dog area.
We paid $12.50 for 2 nights with PA discount and one night full price. I would stay here again if in the area. - Liane63
May 2016 - $23.00
This is a really great Campground. It's very treed Campground. Sits right on the river. Beautiful pier for fishing. Also has a huge Dog park. We actually stayed 6 months. - DebH
Apr 2016 - $25.00
We enjoyed this peaceful, little campground so much that we added a 4th night to our stay. The campsites are packed sand and are well shaded. The roads in the campground are paved. Our site was full-service which is unusual for a municipal campground. The campground is right on the Indian River. It has a great view, and you can see the tall parts of the Kennedy Space Center across the way. There is a long fishing pier and a boat launch for canoes, kayaks and small john boats. There is a pool. The folks who work here are welcoming and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. - ShoreXplorers
Feb 2015 - $38.00
Permanent residents have debris outside everywhere, making the entire park look trashy. The roads are so narrow, it is difficult to navigate; however, they have not been made one way. We watched people having to back-up as they met opposing traffic. The store had virtually no product, the entire office looked like it was shutting down. - work no more
Jan 2015 - $20.00
Rate was after applying KOA discount, a Hot Deal (stay 5 nts, get 2 additional nts free) and gift card we received for Christmas. During check-in, office staff didn't know how to apply the giftcard to our balance so we had to wait about 15 mins until "the boss" could come from upstairs to show them how to do it. They told us they sold a lot of gift cards during the holidays but didn't know how to apply them! We were given one of the rare pull-thrus near the permanent residents side. Hookups were conveniently placed and site was fairly long. The transient side is mostly back-ins with cement pads or grass. The permanent side which is about 75% of the park (and where our dirt pull-thru was located) is absolutely trashy and depressing. It's basically a crowded trailer park with a lot of trash and personal items like furniture, household items and mulitple vehicles scattered around the sites. Many of the permanent residents allowed their rigs to deteriorate on site. At least one Class C mh was towed out during our stay. Our dirt pull-thru site was right next to the restroom/showers and under huge spanish oaks. Small off leash dog park. Cable was ok with lots of channels. There were 5 wifi repeaters all over the park but none worked consistently so we kept getting dropped and decided to use our own wifi after a couple days. Used shower once, very clean and good water pressure. Men's showers were very busy in the morning and many people drove to take a shower and would park in front of and around our mh because there isn't a designated parking area for the showers. Laundry room was huge with 12 washers and 8 dryers ($2.25 per load, 25 ct to dry). Very tight interior roads and if you have to drive thru the permanent side to get out, you risk hitting cars and golfcarts that are parked on the road. The area around the park is economically depressed but it's close to Cape Canaveral and convenient to the highway. Would never stay here again. - Flippitti
Nov 2014 - $39.00
Nice park that is away from busy I-95 with vey level concrete pads and landscaping between spaces. We were escorted to our site and shown all connections and they made sure we were ok before leaving-nice! The pool was sparkling clean. Some permanents in one section, but not trashy and the people were friendly. - ronboett
Mar 2016 - $40.00
We called rather last minute and the owner was very helpful and accommodating, We weren't sure how many days we were spending and actually stayed a week. She was nice enough to give us the weekly rate which was $200.
There is water and electric service 20/30/50 at each site and the whole park is well landscaped and convenient to I-95. It is not a large park, but if you're lucky you could get a spot overlooking the Indian River.
We loved the proximity to the beaches across the river and will definitely return when there's a launch as its right across from Kennedy Space Center. Check the NASA site and you might be lucky enough to be there during a launch. - william cate
May 2016 - $45.00
Stayed here while we toured the area.
Very nice park, courteous staff,
Great value in their off season. - happyflyer
Mar 2016 - $65.00
Willow Lakes is a lovely park. It receives top marks for everything. The only negative is the Wifi. We could not access as often as we would have liked.
Quality and appearance of the park was definitely 5 stars. Roads were easy to navigate through. All sites were large. - Miners2
May 2015 - $20.00
While this is a very nice facility and is well appointed. We were disappointed in that we were twice quoted a Passport America rate of $110/week prior to arriving. Once we had set our plans and arrived at the park the rate became $147/week and the office personnel would not honor the twice quoted previous rate. As a result, we would not return since these are not honorable people. - Bob & Stephanie
Apr 2016 - $19.00
We echo the previous comments. This is a very nice spacious park, no sewer conmections though, have to pack it up and take your unit to the in park dump station.
Only downside for us was that we couldn't stay, as they do not allow any pets at all. So... We left with ClaireBear, our 10 pound Bichon Frise. Pretty sad... ???? - AlaskaJack
Mar 2015 - $18.00
A very good county park. Not that much variation in campsites, they all looked reasonably level and about the same size. Lots of trees and plenty of shade. Quite a bit of separation from adjoining sites, too. Bathrooms were clean and the showers were spacious. The park has a nice sandy beach on the lake, but that's near the park entrance, nearly a mile away from the campground but with plenty of parking. Staff was fine, but the park doesn't do online reservations, and doesn't take phone reservations on weekends. They'll check availability & tell you to call back Monday. Still, it's a bargain and I'd stay there again if in the area. - NoVa RT
Dec 2014 - $18.00
Park has plenty of shade and 50 amp power. Satellite TV possible from some sites. Plenty of wildlife--deer, turkey, squirrels, sand hill cranes, etc. Roads and sites are crushed shell. Large oak trees with lots of moss make for beautiful scenery. The only down side is having to use a dump station. - edwilson
May 2016 - $45.00
A gem of a CG. Management is friendly and obviously takes pride in their park. Sites are FHU/30/50, spacious, level grass with concrete patios and a picnic table. Landscaping is manicured. No fire rings. Immaculate, clean, heated pool. Restrooms are older but fixtures are modern and facilities are very clean. Laundry is $1.50 wash, $0.75 dry. Propane is available at $3.78/gal. Minor freeway noise but not bad. Permanent residents have clean sites. Easy access from I-95. - StephenK
Mar 2015 - $45.00
This is a nice quiet park (with the exception of being about .5 from I-95). The rate includes free wifi which works well. Unfortunately, there is no cable TV so the rate paid seems a bit high. The sites are very wide and spacious with full grass and small (10 x 15) cement pad. As it's late March it's hard to say how full they get, but the park is now 3/4 empty as most snowbirds have likely left. Washrooms are very clean. Nice club house. - gypsy parrotheads
Feb 2008 - $39.00
Would have gave a higher rating but the lady manager has a very negative attitude. She really acted like she hated dealing with the public anytime we saw her. The park is a very nice 55+ park with wide sites with the water and electric hookups behind the RV. All sites are back in. The pool was very nice as was the rec hall. But it is over priced for location, next to I-95. - Teacher's Pet
