This park was nice, clean and far enough away from the interstate so that it is quiet. The staff that I dealt with were all very nice and friendly. But, it did have a couple of short comings.
The problem with dealing with a call center when making a reservation, is that they really don't know the sites. I requested no trees as I don't like stuff dropping on the motorhome. I was told on the phone to go to site 26 when I made the reservation.
My arrival day was on a Sunday and since the office is not open on Sunday's during low season, there was no one to ask if you have questions. Checking on lot 26 I found the trees too low so I picked another spot, lot 139.
The trees need a major trim-back (and there are a lot of them). Our coach is tall and I had to go off the very narrow roads where I could to get around the low hanging branches. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

What a gem! We had no idea this would be so nice. Beautiful setting, friendly people, large sites with full hook ups. 9 hole golf course was fun and challenging for short hitters. Lovely pool with comfortable lounge chairs. Could use a water fountain or vending machine but the on site restaurant is close enough to get something. The best dog run. Large and flat area, could have used some mowing but not too bad. Our dogs loved being able to really run and stretch their legs. Wish people would pick up though. Even in a dog park you need to pick up!!! Needed closer garbage cans. Good free wifi. Just a lovely place we will definitely return. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
There is a small restaurant on site. Typical golf course fare. Our ticket was lost so we waited forever before getting our meal. Both server and cook apologized and took care of the bill.

Well organized and spotless. Restaurant on site has excellent food at very reasonable prices. A bit off the beaten path, but quiet and worth getting to. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
Gainesville is closest big city for shopping and exploring. University of Florida campus is gorgeous!

We signed in and paid for a month in advance. Our site was large and satisfactory. WiFi was just so-so, and wasn't available about half the time. The staff was business like. There was a restaurant on the site with good food fairly priced. An emergency at home forced us to leave after two weeks. They wouldn't give us even a partial rebate. This isn't right and is greedy . We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Very narrow roads. Sites close together. Low hanging branches scraped our motorhome roof. Big Rig accessible is an exaggeration... IMO. We showed up just before 4PM but someone decided to close the office early. No one there to tell us what site we had and no one posted it on the bulletin board. Had to call the SUN RV resort reservation office in Southfield, MI to get our site number. Had to call the café and ask if someone could give us the Wi-Fi password as well. With al the RV parks in FL, we won't be back. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our two stays at this resort although we did have a few problems, none that were bad enough to cross this clean friendly park off our list. It is big rig friendly except after a downpour when the trees sag a bit. With careful inspection of your route in and out, it is possible to keep from scratching the sides and top. Hubby wasn't paying attention and on our way out the second stay, he scraped one of our sides. They could do a better job of trimming. When we arrived the first time, our site was occupied but another was available so we parked at an open space and stayed the night. Next morning we adjusted the paperwork. Not a problem. Some of their long term people do not pay attention to the directional arrows but they will go around if you stop. Our site was level, long enough for our 65 feet, cement, all hook-ups worked, the area was clean, well lit and well manicured, the neighbors were friendly, our hot spot worked fine. Both of our stays were only overnights going to and from Walt Disney World but I wouldn't mind being here for a few weeks next time through. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
We didn't explore but neighbors said grocery shopping was not far away and the freeway is not far from the resort.

We initially planned to stay one night at Grand Lake but ended up staying almost one week due to issues with our coach. The residents of the park are fabulous - we broke down right at the registration office when it was closed and the residents of the resort were really great in helping us to get emergency assistance and settled into the park. Grand Lake is a Sun RV Resort and the management practices of Sun as well as those of Grand Lake need improvement. Although we had registered for our stay, there was no information at the office for us or several other campers who came in behind us. Calls to the "manager on call" went unanswered. When the office is open, staff are helpful. The Resort is easy off I-75 with paved internal roads and concrete pads in the upper section of the resort. Roads and sites are narrow but we were able to navigate and level easily with our 44' MH. Although we did not tow our car through the resort, there were many campers who went through with the car attached. The lower section of the resort is grass and relatively level. We stayed in this section for 4 days of the 7 we were there. Utilities and water pressure good, internet good. We would stay here again. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
The Eagle Cafe on site is a great spot for a quick meal or lunch with great service and good food. Also, be alert when approaching the resort as the driving directions and the address differ a bit and it is easy to miss the entrance road, which is right next to the Jai-Alai.

This park is very much a full service resort
You have the option of grass sites, or paved sites with nice wide concrete patios beside the paved parking pad
They offer everything...9 hole golf course, restaurant, bar, docks on Orange Lake, laundry, WiFi, dog park, etc
Fantastic place to stay, only a short drive over to Micanopy to do some antique shopping or Ocala if you want to visit the weekend Farmers Market. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great park, we had a great time here. We stayed twice in a month period. Once for a week and the second time for three days. Golf course is good, short but very good shape, everyone was friendly. First time we had a grass area and it was OK, Very level and open for SAT. The second time had concrete pad and it was level also. Had some trees but the pull through was about 100' long so was able to maneuver and get the SAT. Is a 20 minute drive to Ocala (walmart- movies ). We will stop every year at Grand Lake. We had SAT so not a problem but Cable is only 12 channels. Everything else was great. Had no problems at all. Even the grass site was good. It rained and the drainage was great. no problems. I almost preferred the grass because of the open. Easy to get the SAT. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
Aunt Fannies Restaurant is a must eat. In Ocala on highway 301. Great home cooking and cheap. Movie theater next to Walmart was great.

Nice RV resort. Paved pull-through sites with nice length. Not much space between pull-through sites. Good hookups placed well for convenient hookup. Washing of RVs and vehicles is permitted, which is a plus for cleaning off the winter grit from drive south. Nice on-site eatery with nightly specials. Nice long driveway entrance. Park is well maintained. Only downside is distance to any real grocery store (approx. 17 miles). Pet friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort is about 5-miles east of I-75 north of Ocala in Orange, so you have no Interstate traffic noise. We overnighted here and had a long pull-through site. The resort roads are paved asphalt, but very narrow. The sites are paved with concrete pads and asphalt drives to the pad. Previous reviewers mentioned low hanging tree branches, but we didn't have any problems. However, we did have a problem with the 50-amp power. One leg only had 108-volts and our portable energy management box prevented low-voltage damage to our RV. It was going to take time to fix the problem so the office moved us to another site. Picnic tables need updating. We would stay again if in the area. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.
Golfing right at the resort.

This park was huge and in a very secluded area. The closest grocery store was 14 miles away. It felt safe and there were a lot of activities going on, but seemed mostly geared toward the full time residents than the transient travelers. We stayed for 3 days. People on their personal golf carts were buzzing around and maybe half of them were actually playing golf at the onsite 9-hole course. The landscaping seemed very overgrown. We actually had to move sites as the trees were scraping our 40ft RV. I saw many people maintaining their own sites, so not sure how this works with the spots that are not owned. Never saw any onsite maintenance going on. WiFi was an additional fee which we didn't do. By some miracle, we were able to get satellite as there were many large trees throughout the park. Weight/exercise room was very nice and plenty of machines in the laundry ($2 load for both wash/dry - seemed a bit high). Some of the interior roads were a bit tight and again overgrown trees scraping the V. We would probably look for another park if we ever came to this area again. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a .

Rate reflects Passport America discount. Trees need trimming very badly, as many branches hit our air conditioners while traveling on their roads. Pool is nice and it is a great spot for rallies with a very nice facility for events. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

The park staff is very rude and not at all cooperative. Don't ask questions and don't complain. This just makes it worse. The amenities are ok. The 3 mile hiking trail is a joke and non-existent. The rate initially quoted for a week as a new person was much less when I called than when we showed up. Not very professional. I will not stay at this park again. This park has a beautiful, long, paved entrance with nice landscaping. We had a very nice paved pull-through that was very level. The park has several nice amenities from fitness room to clubhouses to on-site restaurant. Excellent Wi-Fi but poor cable TV. A potential negative is the relatively long distances to get to good shopping. However, the people at this park are first rate. We camped at Grand Lake RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
