Although this is a membership campground, there are many rules that make it is impossible to take full advantage of the membership. The activities scheduled are cancelled, with no advance notice. The check in process changes every visit. Now instead of checking in and choosing an available site, people are directed to all arrive at noon, line up at the gate in their rigs, and parade around with their rigs following a golf cart to find a site. The staging area is now the small lot in front of the recreation room. We were told that we could not even wait on the property until the noon check in. Prepare to be hassled. It is a shame. No WiFi at the recreation center, although there is supposed to be. No Wifi for purchase in some areas of the campground. Take a tank of water, water is shut off for repairs often. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

We booked a 3 month seasonal site so we didn't have to move around the Orlando area for the winter. We were told during check in that we were supposed to be assigned a seasonal site when we booked the seasonal but we weren't. Our temporary site had cow manure in the driveway that the park said they weren't responsible for cleaning. One month into our three month stay we were ambushed by a ranger and park manager that we were on the wrong site and would be charged more if we decided to stay on the site we were assigned during check in. No apologies were given about this situation. To me this shows poor office communication and a complete lack of customer service. If it weren't for the location, families at the park, and amenities I would not come back. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

This camp is large: so you get the options of sunny sites, shady sites, or woodsy sites. However, they are all very clean and pleasant. During our stay, we moved from a sunny site to a woodsy one near a lake and dog park. The office people, the ground keepers and the neighbors were very friendly. Though the company had a time -share like marketing meeting for membership sales, they pedaled softly, and were not pushy at all. We gathered precious info in that session.

I'm also impressed by the fact that Thousand Trails is willing to share our feed back survey with TripAdvisors. This is a good indication that they take our opinions seriously. And intend rectify any discrepancies. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

This place ia very large (nearly 1000 sites, and all the activities are near the front of the campround. If, like us, you are seeking a quiet place, visit the extreme South East section near the lake. It's very woodsy.

Like many Thousand Trails parks, this one is old and has lots of permanent residents. Most of the permanents are in their own section, in trailers or tiny mobile homes.

They are making an effort to upgrade the electricity and plumbing in the park, which is good. If all goes well, that work will be done before the snowbirds arrive later this year. Hopefully Thousand Trails won't do what they've done in many other parks where they charge people an "amenity fee" to use the upgraded sites.

There is no cable TV but we were able to get quite a few over-the-air channels. There is also no WiFi except for a fee. We paid $30 for the 3 weeks we were there. It worked fairly well except during the morning and evening "rush hours" when it pretty well shut down. Verizon LTE worked well all the time.

The sites are sand, or maybe dirt and sand. We tracked sand into our trailer constantly. It was like being at the beach without the benefit of the water.

Most of the sites are exposed. Ours had some trees for shade which was very welcome in the summer heat. Sites vary in length a lot. Ours was long enough for our 28' fifth wheel, truck, and a car.

There is a lake you can fish in. My husband hooked an alligator so be careful! We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

Not really sure what to say about this park other than it looked real tired! It was one of those places that back in its day, it was a really nice park. Case in point, some sites had concrete pads, but ours was busted up concrete covered in gravel. The store looks like it probably was nice at one time, but it was stocked with minimal items and we couldn't find the help in there when we went. Bathrooms were dated, but were clean. The resort was landscaped nicely. Our patio table wobbled pretty bad and we decided it was not safe to sit on. For what the website looked like and what the park looked like, it was a tale of two cities. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Stayed here several times this past winter and spring. Park is very well kept with large sites and wide paved roads. Several restroom and laundry facilities throughout the park. They are presently in the process of updating and upgrading the electrical service which will increase the amount of 50 amp hookups. Many activities year around in the park and only a few minutes from Disney and other attractions yet still outside of the busyness of the area. Convenient location to Walmart, groceries and restaurants. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Second time at this park. Has a few upgrades but still could use more level sites. Had to take an unleveled site the 1st night and could not use slides. Moved to a nice level pull through full hookup 50 amp site the next morning. Arrive early if you are coming. While there are 900 sites, they stay full all the time. Nice people and facilities. Lots to do and entertainment. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

We have just purchased our motor home which came with a one-year membership and this was our first opportunity to utilize it. One of the first lessons we've learned about Thousand Trails is that they DO NOT assign spots. It's first come, first serve. While there are many spacious sites in the park, we were not fortunate to get any of those spaces. Unfortunately our spot put us nose-to-nose with neighbors and pull-outs were inches away from each other. We learned later in the week that you can relocate once during your stay when a "better" spot becomes available. Ahh, next time...There were no picnic tables in this area. The narrow interior streets were two-way and little room for two vehicles to pass. All of the residents around us were friendly and helpful. The laundry and shower facilities were clean and modern. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Wifi is supposed to be available, for a huge fee! None was available at our site. Free Wifi at the community building is very poor!
Construction noise started at 7 am! Glad that is over!

Electrical and water issues regularly.
Few picnic tables. If you ask for one, they will "put you on the list" but none ever arrived.
Snack bar is closed.
Several bathrooms/laundry rooms are under renovation and closed.
This park is busy in the winter...why didnt the construction work on the campsites and the buildings occur during the summer when they have very few campers?
The fenced dog park is welcome.
The childrens game room is gone.
The "store" has very few items, mostly Thousand Trails promotion merchandise.
The registration is a nightmare...having to drive around to find an available campsite. The most desired ones are not available, with signs and/or bags on the posts.
The front-desk young lady was very kind, professional and friendly. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

One of the staff helped us find a suitable site in the huge park. Have to watch location of hookups and slideouts. Had planned to only stay a week, but extended to 12 days. Nice park store with friendly staff. Pools looked nice, but did not use. Pool house showers clean. Plenty of activities going on. Lots of paved road to ride bicycles. Upgrades going on in the park so having water outages, boiling advisories, and power outages without warnings. Nice location for Orlando visit. Would stay here again once upgrades and renovations of shower houses are complete. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

We checked in 1/29, planning to stay until 1/1, because we were told you were able to see Disney's firework display from the park! Good news, you can. We also came because they have pickleball. Good news: they do, 2 courts, mostly intermediate players. The staff are very friendly and the people were met were welcoming and gracious. There is a free New Years Eve, BYOB, party. All these things are good. Now the not so good. The sites are not very attractive. Broken asphalt and gravel, and a lot of weeds. Very few sites are level...and this is flat Florida. Doing work to upgrade some sites...but should have started that process years ago. Biggest complaint is the check in. Told to drive around and pick your spot. Then call office to ensure it is available. First 3 sites we picked were not available or not marked as promised. After 20 minutes, called and asked for suggestions. First 3 sites they suggested were occupied. Bottom line: they need a better system and need to speed up the site renovation process. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Third stay at the Thousand Trails Orlando this year. Twice the electric went out on two trips for and extended period, and no one could tell us how long it would be out. Nothing like being in 90 degree heat and no A/C. On this trip we departed 9 days early.

For such a nice and well maintained park the electrical problem is on going. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

-Check in process - The process was very easy.

-After hours check in - Not available; huge problem if you are running late like we did. The gate is password protected so you are not getting in if you are not registered.

-RV spots - Lots of spots available. Some are shaded and some are full sun. There is average levelness around the park for each site. Roads can be a little tight and confusing at first but after driving around a little, you get your bearings.

-Hookups - There are sewer, water, electric available. No cable television hookup.

-Wi-Fi - Free Wi-Fi at community rec center which works extremely well and there is plenty of space to sit and web surf. Otherwise, Wi-Fi is available for purchase if you want to stay in your RV through a company called TengoInternet.

-Bathhouse/Laundry - Very clean and well maintained. They have an excellent commercial laundromat machines. Hot water and nice showers at all bath houses.

-Amenities - Two pools, shuffleboard, outdoor bowling, tennis, mini golf, community garden, hiking trails, horseshoes, gym; LOTS of stuff to do. You can certainly stay there all day and not get bored.

-Kids - Tons of families here, nice playgrounds, plenty of things for the kids to do.

-Pets - Pet friendly with a dog park available with water spigot for hot and thirsty dogs.

-Local area - Lots to do within 10 minute drive including shopping, restaurants, rentals, and more. Disney is practically in your backyard within a very short drive.

-Staff - Super friendly and plenty of people available to meet your needs.

-Overall rating and misc comments - This is a fantastic park. Highly recommend to anyone traveling in the area. Keep an eye out for the Sandhill cranes who like to walk around and even stop by for a visit. The atmosphere is very laid back and you feel relaxed even in the middle of all the activities to do there. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

I hate to disagree with some of the earlier reviews, but I was really disappointed in this park. When we arrived we were handed a map and told to go find a space! They said they had no idea where there were empty sites, but just look around. We drove around for about 30 minutes and finally found a site in section D. It was dirt and fairly level and had 30 amp service. The park is not bad and the bath houses were quite nice, but the service stinks! They do not respond to customers. There are no trash cans or pick up. I know I got this membership with TT hoping I would buy at the end of the year, well if this park is representative of their product, I will not be purchasing.
