We are full time RVers. We are Elite Thousand Trails members and stay within the TT system 90% of the time. Our opinion my differ from most because we look at these resorts as "home" and not a vacation location. We look for cleanliness, efficiency and location. Orlando has it all! Nice sites everywhere. Paved roads, clean toilets and showers, wonderful staff, friendly neighbors, resident turtles and flamingos, great recreation area, easy delivery of packages, steady 50 amp power, good sewer system and Disney World fireworks! Our only item we wished they had more of is a playground suitable for younger children. Other than that, we love this place. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

I felt this park was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. You get to pick your own site. The site we chose was on broken gravel but this did not bother us. We went to some activities they had. They also have 2 pools, adult large jacuzzi, volleyball, and much more. We will definitely stay here again. Great location to get to Disney, Disney Springs and a ton of restaurants very close by. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We have been coming to this park on a fairly regular basis since 2013 as Elite Connections members of Thousand Trails. We don't pay a daily rate; however, it is currently from $38.00/day. We have seen great improvements in the park since then, albeit there's still room for improvement. For example, it's a shame that a lot of money has been spent to update the fitness room because it still has a terrible stench, which makes working out unpleasant. Both pools are now open to children; the park loses a few points for that. Adults should have their own space. We found it interesting that several reviewers state they were escorted to their sites. We have NEVER been escorted anywhere at this park; we have always had to drive the park and choose our own site. The bath houses are kept as clean as possible. In fact, the only time the staff may not be able to keep up with cleaning the numerous bath houses is during the winter or on holidays when the park is filled to capacity and obviously not everyone cares about their fellow campers. We try to avoid coming to this park from November to April. The staff here is hard-working and dedicated to their customers; they always have been. On rare occasions we've run into rude staff members - usually they were not permanent employees. I won't go into detail about the amenities as I would be parroting what has already been written. The majority of the sites are level, and Thousand Trails has upgraded many of them to 30/50 amp service at a great expense. More improvements are planned. Thousand Trails Orlando is a beautiful RV park compared to many RV parks we have been in. It is not as nice as parks where sites are privately owned, but it's not due to a lack of trying by the staff. We've been to 18 TT parks. We enjoy it here and highly recommend it as one of the best TT parks. It's the perfect base camp for the Orlando area or just to come and relax. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Publix Grocery within five minutes of the campground. Shops in this strip mall also include a nail salon and several small restaurants. Day trips, other than the ones already mentioned, are: Mount Dora, Clearwater Beach & other Pinellas County beaches on the West Coast or Gulf of Mexico, Cocoa Beach and other Atlantic Ocean beaches on the East Coast.

Overall Rating:

Close to Disney (ask about the back way in when checking in). Very hot and humid in August (they have no control over the weather). Mini golf in need of updating. Bath houses had been remodeled and in excellent shape/cleanliness. Loved the idea of free use of pool table-tennis-badminton-but they only stayed in the store til 6pm. Had to place items in another room after use, which was OK, but had to be sure to sign the stuff back in the next day. We are not members, but so grateful they allow "visitors". Much cheaper than Disney's Fort Wilderness! Need to offer golf cart rentals - grandparents couldn't get out much due to mobility issues. Had to drive personal tow to everything in the park (it's that large). Bicycles are a necessity if you can ride one. Grass didn't get mowed til the day before our departure. We had pull thru concrete sites-you can tell this park is a "little aged." We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Disney within 20 minute drive. Dropped park goers off and went back to get them when they were ready to come back to the RV. Did a lot of "thrifting" while park goers did their thing.

We are Thousand Trails members so there is no cost to us for staying other than the yearly dues. They have fast check in which is super. They call you the day before your arrival for confirmation you are coming. You may not arrive before noon. Then you are directed to a holding area and you tell a person in a golf cart what your wishes are. They then lead you to a spot, Our Verizon wifi worked really well and Dish satellite was super in I section. There are tons of activities for everyone. Twice weekly fresh produce is sold in the park. The staff are knowledgeable and so friendly. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this place. We have stayed here a few times. Laundry was expensive. $3 for wash and $3 to dry! We did find a great laundry nearby that was clean and half the price. The showers are ok here, nothing to special but not gross. Thankfully when we stayed we get spots close to the bathhouse and laundry.

You want to get here early because there is a rush at check in. They drive you to the available spots but you can request an area and they will see what they have available. This place is always packed with kids. We were told to go to the B field. There was a nice pool, mini golf, giant chess and checkers sets to play with. You have to pay for Wi-Fi.

You can see the fireworks from Disney at night. There was a nature trail. There are signs up not to swim in the bodies of water that are around because of alligators. Scary! This park is confusing to navigate. There are one way streets and people will let you know if you are going the wrong way. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Travel Trailer.

This was the first we were able to use membership nights because most campgrounds are always full. They're main objective is to sell memberships and they wouldn't let us go to our site until we sat through the presentation. We couldn't get free wifi in the clubhouse. All of the activities on the calendar that we wanted to attend were canceled. The sites are very crowded and showers dirty. There is nothing to do in Clermont unless you are going to theme parks. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Got a very nice and friendly welcome at the security gate. Provided info and called for an escort however none were available. I could just go in and pick any open site. Has a small gym with game tables, nothing elaborate but functional. Very nice pool in fact two. Also a Jacuzzi though the water wasn't very hot just warm. Main meeting building is closed while they repair from Irma. Campers were very friendly. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Park was mostly recovered from Irma. Clubhouse still closed due to damage from storm. Area got 30 inches of rain in Oct. This is a beautiful park 1 mile in from Hwy 27 which means no traffic noise in most areas of the park. Spacious sites, take time to pick out 1 as the park has great variety of areas. Loop D is wooded...very nice. Pads are rough, old, broken up. Nice pools, paved roads (great for biking), setene clean lake, dogpark, walk or bike to Publix. Friendly staff. Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Post Office 2 miles. Publix 1 mile. Lots of good restaurants in area. Biking and walking are good, crosswalks and sidewalks everywhere. 27 is a major highway, be safe. Very few bugs in Oct. Highs 80's. Lows upper 50's. Park is a snowbird's paradise.

We camped here for almost a month in our 5th wheel during off season. The campground was comfortable. We used one of the two very nice pools. Grounds are kept well. None of the roads had pot holes, which makes me wonder if this is really a Thousand Trails property ;) Many of the sites are paved. Some have trees, but not a lot of shade is offered. Went down to the lake on the property to watch fireworks from Disney - take bug spray. Some of the staff was friendlier than others, but no complaints. Laundry facilities were terrible. They contract with a company whose machines take tokens instead of coins or credit cards. It costs $3 to wash and $3 to dry, that's $6 per load. We had to spray our 5th wheel for ants from day one. We would stay here again since we have a TT membership but if we didn't have a membership, we'd look to see what other campgrounds in the area have to offer. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.

This Thousand Trails property is very large & clean. Our site was old blacktop and level enough. Other sites we observed were dirt, sand and in some cases broken pavement. Some sites had newer concrete but, I believe they are seasonal private sites. Pools (2), clubhouse, store are very large, clean and well maintained/stocked. The roads are very easy to navigate & angled so entry/exit is easy. There is a nature trail, lake & very nice cabins and an on site restaurant/snack bar. Since we arrived after the "peak season" it was quite quiet and organised activities were minimal during our 2 week stay. We would stay again. This is a membership park that is also open to the public. We pay $0 a night, not sure what the public rate would be. Large park with a mix of 30 and 50 amp sites, along with pull thrus and back ins. Water and sewer hookups at the sites. Most sites are gravel and/or gravel & dirt. Area is in a drought so the 'grass' is very dry and not a lot of green, which makes it quite dusty. We stayed twice, once in February and again in April. Check in process was different each time, I would recommend calling ahead of time to find out where to go on arrival, it will definitely make a difference! On both of our visits the water was shut off several times with no warning at all, so you want to be sure and fill your fresh water tanks on arrival. Laundry facility is clean but pricey and you have to purchase tokens at the machine on site, which only takes paper money. We will stay here again because it is no cost for us, not sure I would stay at the public rate however! We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Motorhome.

Shopping and dining options are many just outside the park. Be advised that the turn into the park has a large sign that is difficult to see because of trees. We had to turn around at the Publix - there was ample room around the back side of the business - on our first arrival. Also, when leaving the park you can only turn right, which will have you making a U-turn at the light!

Although this is a membership campground, there are many rules that make it is impossible to take full advantage of the membership. The activities scheduled are cancelled, with no advance notice. The check in process changes every visit. Now instead of checking in and choosing an available site, people are directed to all arrive at noon, line up at the gate in their rigs, and parade around with their rigs following a golf cart to find a site. The staging area is now the small lot in front of the recreation room. We were told that we could not even wait on the property until the noon check in. Prepare to be hassled. It is a shame. No WiFi at the recreation center, although there is supposed to be. No Wifi for purchase in some areas of the campground. Take a tank of water, water is shut off for repairs often. We booked a 3 month seasonal site so we didn't have to move around the Orlando area for the winter. We were told during check in that we were supposed to be assigned a seasonal site when we booked the seasonal but we weren't. Our temporary site had cow manure in the driveway that the park said they weren't responsible for cleaning. One month into our three month stay we were ambushed by a ranger and park manager that we were on the wrong site and would be charged more if we decided to stay on the site we were assigned during check in. No apologies were given about this situation. To me this shows poor office communication and a complete lack of customer service. If it weren't for the location, families at the park, and amenities I would not come back. We camped at Orlando RV Resort (Thousand Trails) in a Fifth Wheel.
