We stayed in Toby's in January and June with our Thousand Trails membership. This is an Encore Trails Collections Park, so our fee was $0. The park is mostly annuals who keep their sites neat and clean. There is a large area up front for transients. These sites are all long, pull through sites. They have a nice, large clubhouse, a very large library, and a clean smaller pool with a shaded area to sit. There is a paved golf cart, bike, walking path to shopping and grocery stores. Arcadia is well known for it's nice antique stores in the downtown area. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the girl who works in the office. We will definitely return to Toby's. - happyhiker
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Our reservation was made by phone. There isn't anyone in the office when we arrived on the weekend. Our paperwork was in a box by the office. This park has mostly full-timers with an area by the entrance for overnighters. We felt the roads to turn into the spots are too narrow and there are drop-offs on each side of the road. The back tire of our rig partially landed in a gully when we turned. The original site given, was a grassy spot that would get muddy in the rain. We have a 42' 5th wheel and needed a harder surface. I called to request a different spot and was told there was an additional charge for a premium (concrete) spot ($4.00, I believe). We changed to the new spot. The park was nice with a small, but clean pool. The bathrooms and clubhouse could use some updating. Laundry room was nice and right next to the pool (which was convenient). No wi-fi free or paid. Convenient location. Close to Peace River and Wal-Mart. We had cows for neighbors in the pasture behind our site. - ThisIsHowWeRoll
Feb 2016 - $40.00
Outer perimeter sites were very muddy. Otherwise enjoyed the park. Clean, friendly, and lots of activities. - Lucy49
Jul 2018 - $1.00
We had free nights from our RV Dealer, so we used 3 here for our first trip. Check-in was easy, very, very nice man assisted us. We were assigned to site N-21, a standard site with 50 amp service. All grass (grass a little long) and a picnic table. Seemed OK till we realized that were were surrounded by Park Models and no other Motorhomes. Some full time residents behind us walked through our site and had their dog off leash and didn't pick-up after it. They were partiers. The next day we were allowed to move to the W Section where there were a few motorhomes and TT's that seemed like they had been there for a long time. No real interaction with the campers, they seemd put off by a motorhome that was only going to be there a few nights. The campground was clean, but I would say 90% are Park Models, if this had been high season, the place would have been packed. - TBWard
Feb 2018 - $84.00
Girl at desk on Feb 10 at 1pm was eating her lunch while we were waiting in line for another rep. When she was done eating she took care of us with an attitude like we were a bother to her. The other rep was being nice to the people. This place is gated so you have to enter code to enter. Laundry and restrooms are locked and you need code to enter (I don't know why those are locked when you have to know code to enter past gate at entrance.) You need to buy a card for $3.00 to do laundry. Then you have to pay $3.00 to put money on card to wash or dry clothes (1.50 each). About 85% permanents here. Most are nice. But several were junky. Many, many trees providing shade. Park is next to river. They have a nice picnic area there. No cable TV but got several TV channels over the air. They do a lot of activities here. I liked that this resort was away from city traffic but not too far away. - RonH999
Oct 2016 - $53.00
The Rambler's Rest RV Resort is located about 4-miles south of I-75, at exit 191 (River Road) on I-75. The park entrance will be on the east side of River Road (left turn if coming from I-75). The entrance comes up on you fairly fast. Our GPS took us right to the gate. After turning into the entrance immediately veer to your right into a large parking lot used for registration. The office is located on the other side of the main road across from the registration lot. Rambler's Rest is part of the Encore/Thousand Trails chain. In general, the resort looks good and seems genuinely cared for but some of the seasonal sites look run-down. I didn't see any concrete pads and our site (W-138) was mostly grass over a small patch of old gravel with full hookups. The park does not offer cable TV but we were able to bring in some local over-the-air channels. If you want to use your satellite dish ask for a spot in the "newer" W-section. Most of those sites will have a clear view of the sky for either roof mounted or portable dishes. The trade off will be little shade. And it gets hot in September. The park is pet friendly and the roads are easily navigable even for big rigs like ours. I had to laugh when I tried the WiFi it offered us complimentary 10-minutes of use before asking us to pay. We opted to use our Verizon hotspot instead. River Road can be busy but we heard absolutely no road noise, just the occasional airplane going over. Site spacing is about average, maybe a bit above. But beware if it rains hard as the ground will become saturated fairly easily. Jack pads are a must. This was our first time at Rambler's Rest and as we were visiting family during the day we didn't have an opportunity to check out the amenities at the resort. We may stay here again. - rk911
Apr 2018 - $52.00
Well maintained co-op park with friendly, helpful residents, good water pressure and electricity. Convenient to most of Punta Gorda. Sites are level and sandy; we used jack pads. Close to the Punta Gorda airport, but we only heard planes on Saturday morning. This is our third visit to Waters Edge and we will return. - Mom_of_Two
Mar 2018 - $52.00
Very friendly, helpful residents, accommodating, widest space between between rigs we have ever had! The only downside is that there is no one in the office on weekends. Board members stepped in to cover though. Utilities are excellent. No cable but lots of channels in the air. Wifi booster helped the signal in our rig. Propane and garbage pickup at your site! - GailMOH
Dec 2017 - $41.00
We just stayed one night, but found the RV resort to be nice. Most of the park is filled with owned sites that are a mix of park models/trailers and RVs, but there's room for short-term visitors like us too. The permanent sites are generally nicely kept up with landscaping, decorations, etc. The north area of the park was very crowded/cramped, with narrow roads, small sites, and lots of golf carts driving around. Our grass site in the "S" section (east side) was much nicer, and even though it had no sewer, we greatly preferred that location (except for having to drive through the north section to get there) as it felt much more spacious. Since our site was grass, when we put down own motorhome's leveling jacks, they sunk right into the ground instead of lifting us. Fortunately we had some wood blocks we could put under them for support. Strangely, the 50 amp pedestal was at the extreme front of the back-in site, while the water hookup was 40' back into the site. Although the site was 60+ feet long, we had to park our rig right up against the road for our power cord to reach the pedestal. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, a pleasure to work with. Dogs aren't supposed to be walked on any site but your own, however there's a very large grassy area on the east end of the park that's fine for walks, and a surprisingly large fenced dog park. Cell service was good, and although it's near the airport, we didn't notice much noise. We'd stay here again for a longer stay when visiting family in the area. - LifeRebooted
Nov 2018 - $90.00
Very nice newer park. Sites are large back ins very wide, done with pavers. Roads are asphalt and wide. Lots of space between sites beautifully landscaped. Nice pool. No cable. $90/night seems high for what you get. - retiringDO
Jul 2018 - $60.00
This is a relatively new park with a wonderful design. The sites are solid pavers and very long in most cases with lots of space between sites. Premium sites even have utility connections on either side so you can pull in or back in depending on the view you like or the side you want to shade. Top notch laundry, clubhouse, poll, pickle ball courts and the park has secure gated access. Close to hundreds of amenities in Punta Gorda or Port Charlotte as well as the Punta Gorda airport. - homey
Jul 2018 - $90.00
What a nice place. Great amenities and plenty of space between sites. Newer park so landscaping is young and there are NO large trees for shade. This makes for a wonderfully satellite friendly park. Numerous sites offer back in or pull in. There is pickle ball, pool and hot tub plus a pool table in a very nice club house. Gates close when the park office is closed. Previous comments we had read talks about the airport noise but we didn't experience that, not too excess anyway. We will be back and highly recommend! - DavidnKeithAnn
Mar 2018 - $56.00
It's really a manufactured home park with a few RV spots and we stayed here eight nights. The homes are well maintained, not the decrepit mildew stained structures you see in some parks. It's a good location, and the price is in accordance with the location. You do here noise from 41, and we would not consider this for an option for an entire winter - especially at this price. Our site was actually just outside the park entrance, one of three sites jammed together next to the maintenance building. We couldn't locate our sewer hookup at first and realized it was about 10 inches from our neighbor's picnic table. That's close! When we pulled our slides out we were less than two feet from his screened awning. Some of the people in the office were friendly, one in particular seems to run the place and snaps at the others who work there. Unfortunate for them. Pool/hot tub/clubhouse are well maintained, along with the rest of the property. - Roaming Together
Apr 2016 - $41.00
Called ahead and asked about accommodations for our 40 foot RV. Told we could be accommodated. We drove there and were greeted less than kindly. The woman at the counter looked out the window at our coach maybe not realizing I was already at the desk and said "So this is it huh?!" I waited a while before she came around to ask what I needed. She then proceeded to tell me they couldn't put us on this park. I asked why they didn't tell me this when I called. She didn't have a good answer. There was inadequate space to turn around once we had pulled in. This should NOT be listed as an overnight accommodation in any of the RV listings!! - RNRVtravler
Oct 2015 - $40.00
A couple of areas that weren't perfect but the service and helpfulness more than made up for it. Stayed for over 3 months due to medical issues and we were treated very well.
Power wasn't very good. Meter showed a consistent 108 volts so we were careful with what appliances we were running. Needed three 10' lengths of sewer hose, slightly up hill at our site (G28).
Mostly seasonal sites. Expect winter time would be hard to book.
A couple of pull throughs.
Would definitely stay again. - MissingLinc
Mar 2014 - $27.00
Amenities list high speed internet which is handled by Camp Link. Our site was 2 sites from an antenna, but internet wouldn't work. I phoned Camp Link and they told me it was their worst park because of the electrical noise from the Walmart Distribution Centre across the street. The Camp Link person on the phone gave me a full refund but also told me that the camp management knew about the internet problem. I had to buy an internet plan at Walmart that worked fine but Live Oak indicates it is included. The other problem we had is the pool temperature is only 78* which is quite cool. Except for the above two problems, this was a very nice well kept park with large lots. I told them about these two problems at the store and they made it sound like I was the first to ever mention it; however, many people I talked to at the pool told me they had voiced the same concerns and got the same response. - Jacknel
Feb 2013 - $50.00
We stayed for two months and were so impressed with Live Oak we returning in 2014 for 4 months. People were so friendly, went to the Monday morning meeting to find out what is going on for the week. All kinds of community functions never a dull moment if you want to attend. Well run and well cared for, made use of propane filling at resort, reasonable and convenient. Stayed in monthly sites near dog walk, they were large with the cement pad and we liked them but will have a site within the resort in 2014. - Westwind
Jan 2013 - $27.00
Nice older RV park with many permanent sites. Short term RVs are parked at what they call the dog park, on grass with concrete patio's. The patios stick out of the ground a couple of inches causing a tripping hazard. The water is from a well and is strong with chlorine, dark clothing changes color when washed. There are two nice laundries. The pool and hot tub are old but well kept. There are a number of activities, but short term folks (those staying less than 6 months) are not really encouraged to attend. The golf course is 9 holes and very nice. The Peace River is close by, as is Punta Gorda. Beaches are 35 miles or more. Ft. Myers is 35 miles south and Sarasota is about 4o miles north. Arcadia is 20 miles north. There is a Wal Mart Distribution center across Hwy 17 from the park and at night you can hear the truck back up horns and hear the trucks being loaded making it difficult to sleep. The office staff and park residents are friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable and the owners do not increase the prices often. We would stay here again but probably not for three months. - linfrog
Mar 2018 - $35.00
We stayed 10 weeks at Alligator Park (snowbirds). The nightly rate is $43.00 for transients but lower for longer stays. This is a nice, clean, well kept place. The full time residence are very friendly and there is a full social calendar. The location of the park is perfect., near to Port Charlotte, Ft. Myers and Cape Coral. All kinds of shopping close by as is the gulf. We will be staying here again next year. - Sailor Dave
Oct 2017 - $27.00
We've stayed at Alligator Park a couple of times in 2017 and really like it. Well kept Park, nice level concrete sites, full hookups, a great heated pool and friendly staff and neighbors. It's a resident owned park with about half mobile homes and half RV lots. Pretty busy and hard to get in during winter season due to popular location. Our only negative on this park is the 90-degree angle slim sites combined with narrow roads makes backing into the sites a challenge. - GretasDad
Mar 2017 - $40.00
Large park with lots of seasonal visitors. Very few sites available for overnighters during "season". Lots of activities for people. A heated pool, a very good library, good internet in the library-otherwise, one has to pay for it. People in the office and in the park are very friendly. Allows pets on leash. Has laundry facilities. - leciel19
