This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in - very roomy sites and everything worked great including the wifi. A nice pool and hot tub! Roads are a bit tight in places but we have 33' trailer with no problems. The staff was exceptional working with us to stay extra days. Close enough to shopping, etc., but far away enough to be quiet. One day a tortoise came toddling through our spot! Sites are quite varied from deep in a wooded area to uncovered - seems there are many full-timers but rules are enforced so it's a lovely place to stay. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Very clean, large park. We loved it! Lots of good dog walking. It was a gorgeous large park, lots of peace and quiet, trees and shade with large sites and a pool. We gave it an A and two thumbs up. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

My impression is that this is more of a seasonal resort. Speaking with neighbors who have been coming last few years noted more park models have been brought in. Also note how seasonal spaces fill fast. Office staff was good and ensured we had a copy of map and rules (3 1/2 pages) which we had to sign receipt. Read rules and pretty tough however after walking through park, noted many rules have waivers of some sort. Space was spacious and easy to get into, however backed to a main road which was quite busy night and day. There is a space for dogs which IMO is not very big and sandy however most walked dogs throughout park and onto emergency water basins when dry. WiFi worked for my wife. CATV did not work for us. My lower rating was because of road noise and the cancellation policy. Since we made reservation three weeks prior, informed cancellations require a 45 day notice and a $200 cancellation fee. If cancelled under 45 days, the entire deposit will be forfeited. (on phone told we could try to use at a later date..but paper rules say otherwise). Since we were within the 45 day window, we were also required to pay full amount up front. Also, in reading the Sun Resort web site determined there is a first timers discount (20%). I was asked on the phone if this was our first time staying and said yes. I thought that would get me discount until I saw my credit card alert. Contacted office and was told, yes discount was available, however I have to ask for it? They did nicely credit back to the reduced rate. Location is nice with easy access to see the manatees and other local events. Nice place, however likely would not stay here again. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not listed on their restaurant but excellent - Biscuit Barn. Busy on Sunday but waiting line goes quick. Believe open early AM to 2 PM, closed Monday. Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park worthwhile to see. Even if wild manatees are gone, there were about four to six at site. Great venue for children.

Overall Rating:

This campground was easy to locate, just follow your GPS. Check-in was quick and easy. Staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are long, wide and level with decent spacing between sites. Full hookups are properly located. Electrical power was steady. Water pressure was good. WIFI worked well. Verison service had three bars. CATV worked fine. Lots of places to walk the dog. We stayed for two weeks. This is a really awesome campground. The individual sites are unique and the landscaping makes each site fairly private. We'd stay here again. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Some sites were way nicer than others. Everyone coming in for just two or three nights was sent to the same unattractive area with little shade. The plus side--easy in and out. And the site was level. But no feeling of being out in nature or of privacy. We didn't sit outside at all due to the closeness to the next site and their sewer. That said, many of the sites were occupied by long term rentals and were tricked out very attractively. They had beautiful shade trees and privacy. It would be a decent area to stay for an extended period while you visited the many springs in the area. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

As others have said, very clean, quiet, gated, and landscaped park. Paved roads but gravel or dirt sites. Ours was spacious but took several attempts to find a location on the site where we could get level. Strong power, water was good and the sewer connection was convenient. We were in a 42 ft towing a Ram pickup; interior roads were tight but we had no problems. Club house and pool were exceptionally well done; looked new. Crystal River is where you go to see Manatees. Mid April is too late, they had gone to the gulf to feed.

Rate reflects weekly rate. Only have back in sites. Full hookups. Some sites are full sun and some are shaded. 3 laundry rooms in the campground. Clean but not enough machines when campground is busy. $1.50 per load. Loved the pool and hot tub. Restrooms clean but too far for us to walk from our site. Most sites were great looking. OUrs was very tight due to placement of sewer. Staff was great and helpful. Wifi was hit and miss, otherwise I would have given them a 10. Lots of activities at the clubhouse. Great place to stay, would definitely stay here again. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park with mostly spacious sites. Our stay could have been perfect WITHOUT: - days of construction noise at certain permanent sites, screeching tile cutters etc. - some reckless campers who use howling LEAFBLOWERS around their RVs for hours every day, because they are too lazy to take a broom in their hands. There are so many campground rules, why can't they ban these noise makers? - election campaign signs in front of RVs. These do not belong where people want to get relaxation on vacation. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We were only going to stay one night on our way through town. But the pool was so great and hospitality of others just sucked us right in! Stayed two nights and loved the peace and quiet of the place. The kids LOVED the pool, while mom loved the hot tub in October! Lovely! Great base camp for exploring the area and visiting the manatees.

Only negative was not having a bath house for showers. With six in our rig, a bath house is nice to spread out in. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a very large park with spacious sites and wide roads so even big rigs can maneuver easily. The site could have used the landscaping cleaned up some as it was getting a little overgrown with the palms and there was some fallen debris from the trees that needed picked up in my opinion. The park is very quiet and the club house and pool were quite nice. Rest rooms were the shower suite type with toilet and shower in the same room so you had your privacy. Laundry machines were in good condition with $1.00 to wash and $1.00 to dry. We enjoyed our 5 day stay. The area is all about fishing so bring you fishing pole. Lots of good restaurants in the area too. I would stay there again. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Our experience started out bad, because our promised discount wasn't honored, so we were forced to pay full price. The discount was for being a Sam's club and AAA member and promised to us when we made our reservation. The unfriendly management staff was only there once for a few hours and not co-operative at all. We find this kind of treatment almost fraudulent.

The showers are nice and private, but extremely dirty. They were only cleaned once during our entire four day stay. The pool was covered in tree pollen. Due to the fact, that our site was so close to the next, lights, all-night barking dogs and screaming kids became a quick inconvenience. It was our first time in this park and our last. We stayed in this park several years ago and it has gone down hill since that stay. Many sites now have tents and out buildings in addition to the RV. They were not allowed during our previous stay. We stayed one night and moved on.

(Lot spacing was nearby and mostly shady, covered/forested. Site surface was gravel/sand and featured a picnic table.) We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
