Beware you are renting from a snobby ungrateful real estate agent water front keys reality They booked us for a day earlier than our expected arrival and on top of that we had tire trouble on the way there and were a day late getting there. They wouldn't refund any money even though it was partly their fault. This park is not pet friendly at all. You must go out of the park to walk your dog. The spaces are extremely tight and crowded with trees. I had a conversation with someone from the real estate agency to explain our situation to which she replied there are no refunds of any kind and when I mentioned that I may not stay there again she promptly said "well have a safe trip home" and hung up . These people are extremely rude. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $111.00
Overall Rating:

We paid $111 per night plus 12.5% tax plus $45 booking fee to Waterfront Realty plus $53.75 resort fee (cash) at time of check-in. For 14 nights, our all-in price was $131.61/night. Site shapes, sizes and views vary dramatically as does the pricing. We had a waterfront site (#160) which has an open water view. It is designed to be a back-in site but we wanted the ocean view through our big windshield. We were able to pull nose in and get our cords/hoses under the coach and reach to the other side. It meant we couldn't put out our awning due to palm trees and we had to step over hoses when coming/going but the view was totally worth it! Whether you back in or pull in, the site offers sufficient room for a 45' motorhome and tow car. We had a large gravel "patio" area and cement round table with cement stools. It is remarkable how good things look just a few months after Irma. The landscaping has been ravaged but is starting to come back. Several of the older trailer homes were (sadly) destroyed by Irma and many of those sites are being converted into RV sites. That might lead to more availability for rver's in the future. Neighbors are very friendly and happy to engage in extended conversation (if you choose). The sites are individually owned and most residents spend the winter there. It's an extremely active crowd with a gazillion activities and tons of participation. There are a lot of rules and it seems the rules aren't always applied evenly. However it is still a nice, clean, safe, lovely park. We did not have wifi at our site. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Verizon cell, Sprint Mi-Fi and DirecTV worked well. This was our second stay and we still haven't had enough. We are already thinking about when we can return and stay longer! We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Square Grouper is fabulous - they have an Upstairs and a Downstairs - essentially two different restaurants. Both are fantastic. We splurged on the seaplane tour to Dry Tortugas Natl Park. The water is crystal clear. You can see sharks, turtles and rays from the plane. Fort Jefferson is very cool. Try the fish dip at No Name Pub (on Big Pine Key) while you check out an estimated $70,000 of dollar bills stapled to their walls.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful location with gorgeous views. We selected a "premium" site on the Gulf and boat canal and enjoyed coffee, meals, and wine sitting next to the water. It was a nice, relatively level concrete pad with even larger concrete patio. Many of the spaces are "permanent" residences, and garbage/recycling is a weekly Waste Management pickup. Plenty of scheduled activities for the residents with pool and hot tub available for the short-term stay. As of March 2018, hurricane damage is still evident in surrounding Keys, but Venture Out seems 98% ready for visitors (we did have a picnic table show up on our site the day before we left.) The only negative is that we arrived at 3:45, only to discover that the office closes at 3:30 (at the height of the peak season!) The security staff were a little unsure of where our site was located although they did eventually hand us a map and point us in the right direction. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second time here, we are now long term renters and plan on purchasing an RV lot. Our first time here we stayed on a lot near the Marina and store, there was a lot of activity and only noisy during the day. We are now on a lot at the south end of the park and it is very peaceful. The ocean views are incredible. From our previous stay we know that during lobster mini season this place is a madhouse, many of the visitors then are disrespectful of the rules and other guests. We have not been here during the height of season but we find most of the renters and owners to be very friendly and outgoing. We are early retirees so we are on the younger side compared to many of the owners and snowbirds. The locals call this Denture Out, I wish I had come up with that name. There are many rules and while some seem rather strict keep in mind that this isn't a drop in for the night kind of place, it feels more like a gated community. This is a dog friendly community but you are limited to walking your dog to the gate for relief and you are responsible for picking up after your pet. This is a well maintained property and the majority of the lots are 35' X 70' with a 10' buffer zone so the total length of your rig/vehicle is limited to 60'. There are mobile homes and stilt homes available for rent as well but some of the driveways are very short and your vehicle must fit entirely in the driveway. Most if not all of the rentals sites do not have cable or Internet; that is up to the property owner, not the facility. Free Wi-Fi is available at, and limited to, the Rec Hall. Coin laundry is available at several places throughout the facility and the showers/restrooms are cleaned daily. Large heated/chilled pool and small hot tub, tennis, bocce and basketball courts. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are many nearby activities so do some research before you arrive. A visit to Bahia Honda State Park and the Dolphin Research Center (where they filmed Flipper) is highly recommended. There is more than likely something nearby to satisfy you no matter what your interests are or hang out in the pool and do nothing but relax.

We paid $80 per night plus tax plus $45 booking fee to Waterfront Realty plus $53 resort fee at check-in. For 13 nights, our all-in price was $98/night. Others have described this park well. We had a dry site (#20) which offered plenty of room for our 40' motorhome and tow car. We had a large patio area, picnic table and pretty landscaping which offered some (not complete) privacy. The road behind us was not busy or noisy. Our neighbors on each side could not have been nicer. The sites are individually owned and most residents spend the winter there. It's an extremely active crowd with a gazillion activities going on and tons of participation. It's easy to meet folks and make friends. Yes - there are a lot of rules - but it makes for a nice, clean, safe, lovely park. The security staff at the guard gate was very kind and helpful. We did not have wifi at our site. Tips for other Campers:

Exiting through the gate with big RV and tow car is tight. Suggest exiting the property separately and hooking up toad on Spanish Main Road (outside of the complex). Taking the public bus to Key West is easy. The bus runs on time, costs $4 each way and takes an hour. See Hemingway House and 6-toed cats. Very nice Winn-Dixie not far on Big Pine Key. Enjoy great food at Hogfish Bar & Grill on Stock Key.

Venture Out is a Gated Condominium resort with on the water RV sites that have a private boat dock and several lower cost dry lots. Clean, quiet and safe. Lots of rules for campers with kids and pets, strict enforcement. Verizon Aircard works OK with 1-2 bars on 4G LTE. Golf cart use allowed. Top rated Marina open to public with clean dry boat gas and convenience store, boat ramp, and fish cleaning area. Condos are available for rent to accommodate family and friends who want to visit you in paradise. RV Sites have Full hookup with 50 Amp service but does not include TV or wifi. No local TV broadcast. Wifi is available at Rec Center. Some RV Sites are tight and toad may have to be parked in the overflow lot for extra fee.

Some beautiful, very nice waterfront sites with breathtaking views. Fairly close to Key West. Our site was tight for parking, but once parked it fit like a glove. No WiFi. Cable, provided by site owner was dismal. Only one TV station in Key West, but a little pre-planning goes a long way. This is a trailer park that has RV spaces, but most are excellent. Best RV park value in the Key West area. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Full disclosure. We own an Rv lot at Venture Out, and obviously we like it well enough to have purchased one.

There is free Wi-Fi, but it's at the clubhouse only.

As far as pets. Two pets are allowed. Cats are NOT allowed to roam, and will be trapped and removed, so BEWARE. I don't think the park adequately explains this to people and I want people to know not to let your cat outside.

Dogs are not allowed to walk with you around the property. You can walk from your lot to the gate and outside the park, to where there is a dog walk area along the main road.

Yes, the sites are small. It's the Keys and land is very expensive. Some RV sites may be difficult to maneuver your RV into, so be aware when booking a site. There are "dry lots" and waterfront lots. The ocean view sites are spectacular, but can be pretty windy. The canal lots can have spectacular ocean front views, or views of the seawall behind you. Not all are the same. Be aware when booking a site.

The park rules state only one motorized vehicle per site (other than a motor home). If your RV and vehicle don't fit on the lot, you have to park the vehicle in the overflow lot. BEWARE of this when you reserve a site. The overflow is $2-$4 a night depending on the size.

New rules effective may 15, 2015. Venture Out has become so popular and many people spend their entire winters here, bringing all their toys, which include extra cars, motorcycles, boats, cargo trailers. This has resulted in a parking nightmare. The community Board of Directors has mandated the parking rules be enforced. Effective now, you will only be allowed to park in the overflow lot, a maximum of two weeks in any 6 month period. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We have a boat so our favorite thing to do is to go out to Looe Key Wildlife Sanctuary. It's about 8 miles offshore on the Atlantic side. Snorkeling and diving is great.

When it's too windy to boat (which it often is) we love to visit Key West. It's a crazy and fun town and you will always see something interesting. Be sure to watch the nightly sunset celebration on Mallory Square.

We stayed at VO96. This is waterfront RV spot. We backed into the spot as we have a large rear window and it was like being right on the water. The spot was large enough for 40' fifth wheel and large pick up parked next to it if you back into the spot. If you park parallel, there would not have been enough room for truck. Did not have TV service or wi-fi. Have to use a satellite dish for tv. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

No one has mentioned the bad aspects of this park.

When making your reservation, be sure you can completely fit on the lot you are renting. If your vehicle sits even a foot past the curb, you will need to put it in the storage lot for $4 a night. Some of the lots used to have old campers on them with Florida rooms. The concrete pad of the Florida rooms are left behind when they remove them to make an RV lot. The problem with this is, today's larger RVs are too wide to sit along side the patio and not hang over on to the neighbors lot line on the other side. Be sure to ask all these questions during your initial phone conversations.

If you are a boater, the locations is great! We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is a first-class resort with all these amenities and more: clubhouse with ping pong table and free Wi-Fi, oceanfront swimming pool, hot tub, tennis, bocce, playground, on-site store and marina, and deep-water canals. We especially enjoy bicycling around the park and lying by the pool overlooking the ocean. Sites are spacious and clean, and activities abound. Almost every morning there is free coffee in the clubhouse and a variety of games to be played with fellow campers and residents. Very kid friendly park, very safe, gated entry and 24/7 security. We stayed in a high-rise mobile home (there are several such permanent homes in the park) but there are plenty of spaces for RVs up to 40 ft long. Large, private resort with mostly permanent type trailers and homes with RV lots scattered throughout the resort. Many lots are waterfront with man made channels coming in from the bay so you could dock your boat next to your lot. We didn’t use any of the facilities so nothing to report there. We spent most of our time in Key West and the surrounding area. We did see a very large boat launch with plenty of parking for resort guests. If fishing is your thing then this place is for you. The lots are small and would not recommend this for anything over 40’. We camped here in a 40’ motor home and would not come again because of the small lots. Still, this is a 5 star resort. Note: There is a one time fee of $53 paid at the gate that goes to the association when you check in. Our nightly rate of $48 for our week stay reflects that fee as part of the nightly rate. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.

We had a wonderful extended stay here. We stayed 2 months on a non-waterfront site, but it was great. The site was huge and the neighbors friendly. All the sites are individually owned so there is a huge pride of ownership within the park, resulting in a very clean/nice park. Other reviews we read mentioned strict pet policies. This is true, but we did not have a problem having our puppy there, we just had to walk him towards the exit when we walked him. The pool is fantastic as is the hot tub. There are picnic tables right on the water, weekly dinners and bingo and countless other activities. We camped at Venture Out Resort in a Motorhome.
