Twin Lakes was booked online. We found the campground to be as represented. The full hook-ups were ambidextrous! What a great concept. This allowed you to pull in or back in to maximize your lake view. There was a boat launch and fishing pier. The weather did not cooperate, so we had no chance to explore. Looks like there are changes coming, which could only add to the ambiance. We would camp here again on an overnight. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The ONLY minus is that of all the lovely open green space, just a small dog relief area was "open" for pets. All the other area was reserved for play area.

RV'd 150,000 miles, 20 years, stayed in many rated-10 campgrounds. In our opinion this is the best place we have ever stayed. Immaculate, first class sites and utilities, quiet after 2200, friendly, great view from every site. Family friendly. Super clean pool. Beautiful lakes (caution, no swimming in lake -- safety.) Small boating and fishing (with license) OK, no power boats/skis. Controlled access. Campfires limited to fire pits provided at some sites. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park. All current sites have a view of water - even if it is only a small view. It has the look of a new park so we were surprised to find that it's an older park undergoing renovation. The entrance has a coded security gate. New features are being added including some more new sites. All the sites added this year are pull thrus. The restrooms and laundry are immaculate. The restrooms are individual with shower, sink, and commode and have the feeling of luxury. All sites are paved but can be somewhat inaccessible based on angle of entry. The new central pull thru sites have multiple utility so they can be entered from either direction. Unfortunately, our site (a new site) did not have a sewer hookup that we could access and was far from level front to rear. Managers are full-time and onsite and very helpful. For non-campers, there are cabins for rent. The resort is only a few miles from historic Defuniak Springs as well as a large RV dealership. We would return. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a boat launch and two fishing piers. The historic town of Defuniak Springs is a few miles away. There are restaurants and diners in and around the town (Ed's Restaurant is a local favorite). If you find yourself in need of repairs or RV supplies, Dixie RV is about 25-30 miles away.

We have spent many visits at this park's sister resort, Camp Gulf. The owner and managers have been working on this park for two years to bring it up to Camp Gulf's standards. This is a beautiful location in a peaceful location out of town, but only eight miles with easy access. We were there to teach an advanced RV inspector training class, as we will be in February and March. The clubhouse was perfect for our needs! The facilities are brand new, the sites are concrete with services on either side so you can choose which way you want to park and have services where you need them. Most sites have a great view of the lakes and many are lakeside. The managers are most helpful in working with is to make our event a success! We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart was six miles from the campground and other amenities are nearby in town. When entering the campground, there is a gate that needs a gate code. That will be on your reservation confirmation when it is emailed to you.

This campground is a hidden gem. It is gated, which was unexpected. The grounds are immaculate. All sites are paved with ample room to walk around the rig and stay on pavement. Spotless pet area. The bathrooms are spacious, meticulously maintained and have to be seen to be believed as they are the nicest public bathrooms we have ever seen. Nice pool and public building with games and billiards. No swimming in the lake due to snakes and gators, and our site has an unobstructed and beautiful view out the front windshield. This park is exceptionally maintained and clearly the friendly crew that run it take pride in their work. We did review as "easy to navigate", but it is tight for larger rigs (we are 40 feet and a toad). We highly recommend and absolutely would stay here again. This campground is the epitome of my dream campground. I am so happy I found this place and will definitely return for a longer stay even though I live in Colorado. The campsites all have views of this beautiful, serene lake. The sites are paved and very spacious. You should see the bathrooms! I can't say enough good things about Twin Lakes...except I'll be back! We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

Twin Lakes Camp Resort is on the smallish side but it is nestled among pine trees where each RV site has a view of either Holly or King Lake. Construction of new RV, tent and tree house sites are underway. When entering the park use caution and creep forward as there is large diagonally oriented speed bump which will cause your vehicle to rock side to side, the longer the wheelbase the more prominent the rock. Each pull thru or back-in site is full hook up with 50/30/20-amp w/breakers, water, at least one sewer hookup and cable TV. The cable TV is a mix of analog and digital and is weak at some sites. We used a cable TV amplifier to get a viewable picture. Sites where rooftop satellite dishes can see the sky are few in number but portable dish users may have an easier time. We were able to use our DISH service but only for standard def programming. The wifi works well and we had 3 out of 5 bars on our Verizon devices. Staff is friendly and helpful. And this park is very quiet and dark at night...star gazing is amazing. No swimming in the lakes but you can rent a boat or launch your own or fish from the shore or docks. All sites have at least some shade during the day. There are showers and a pool which we did not use. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

This is one of the best parks we have ever stayed in. We were only here overnight, but plan on returning and spending more time just laying back. The staff were super professional and friendly! Our sight was on the lake and we got some super sunset, sunrise photos. Even though it is a way off I-10, we recommend this resort and suggest you spend at least two nights. TwinLakesCampResort, manager at Twin Lakes Camp Resort responded to this review

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. You really must come back and stay more than one night! Glad you enjoyed all the beauty that the nature surrounding Twin Lakes Camp Resort affords you. We do see some of the best sunrises and sunsets here! We are 8 miles from I-10 but are easy to find and have sites that accommodate any size rig, whether you are passing through for one night or staying for a week to relax! Thank you again for choosing Twin Lakes Camp Resort and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

Very nice gated park on 2 lakes with small pool and a store. Gravel roads with wide level concrete pads. New bathrooms and laundry. Main activity is fishing. We were disappointed that there were no boat rentals as we had been promised. Had problem with barking dogs that were left tied outside all day. Owners were contacted but took all day to return and were allowed to stay. Would be better if rules were handed out at check-in rather than "upon request" to avoid this issue. Sites are very close and can be back-in or pull-in (for the lake view) which means you may be nose-to-nose with your neighbor. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed at Twin Lakes for a couple of days. The park is currently under renovation, and once it is done, it will be a wonderful place to be. Right on the lake shore, quiet and tranquil. The concrete pads are wide and level, with all new electric, water, and sewer system in place. Club house and pool is done, but the toilet and shower facilities are not yet finished. We enjoyed our week here. Very quiet, peaceful place. A few sites have a 50 amp plug but per the maintenance guy, No sites have 50 amp service. We didn't need it this time of year anyway. Shared posts with circuit breakers for several sites so just find your post along your row. All staff are super friendly and helpful. Sites area all back-in, park on stone with pad for picnic table. Restrooms/showers are old but clean. Rate is Coast-to-Coast. The town of DeFuniak Springs was a bonus. Cute old town with lots of history (go to the library!). Nice walk around circle lake. About 30 minutes to beaches on the Gulf straight south. We'll stay here again. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.

This park is a disappointment after the reviews I've read. To begin with, the price has increased six dollars a day due to "An increase in our power rates." Secondly, the power didn't work at the two sites we tried. it was after 4:30PM and the office was closed. Another camper reached the "manager" who guided me to the breaker box where I rectified the problem. Not much service there. The place is tired. It hasn't received much maintenance over the years. It's sad, since it is located in a beautiful area. It's the first time we've not been pleased with a park recommended by rvparkreviews. I'd discourage anyone from staying here. We camped at Twin Lakes Camp Resort in a Motorhome.
