PROS-It's rare to be so close to the white sand and beautiful emerald waters of the gulf. Our site was about 150 yards from the beach. You just can't beat walking from your RV and strolling up and down this wide beautiful beach. The park offers a variety of sites, from right on the beach, to sites in the sand with cement pads and a palm trees, to landscaped sites and no sand, the closure you are to the beach the more expensive. They have an outside pool and a covered one with a hot tub. Others have mentioned about the friendly and helpful staff, and they are. They have a gas fire pit for guest to gather in the evening. No problems with electricity or water pressure. They offer 69 cable channels.

CONS-Our site (608) was a bit tight for our size 5th wheel and parking our long-bed truck in this site was awkward. We had a wall in front of our site that made it necessary for us to jack knife our rig in which is always fun. Spaces starting just one space north of us didn't have the wall. They had sites that would have been better for our size fiver but this is their busy season, so book early. This site would be better for a shorter rig, or a short bed truck. During rain sites 608-609-610 flood, they moved us to another site but we will need to move again before our month is up. Wi-Fi was poor, had to use our hot spot for Internet most of the time.

WOULD WE STAY HERE AGAIN? Yes, the view of the Gulf makes this a come back place, but not in site 608 -- rate is based on staying for a month.

We stayed here in a 36 foot fifth wheel. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Gulf is only one of three RV parks in Florida where you can park right in front of the beach and the entire park also have easy access to it. The other two are nowhere near as nice as this. The Destin beaches are the best in Florida!

Everyone is most accommodating from management on down to the workampers. If you want to enjoy the beach, this is the place to come!

Everything is very close by: groceries, shopping, places to walk and ride a bicycle, and awesome pizza across the street at Jordanos!

The concrete pads will large for your RV if you let the office know the size of your unit at the time of booking. The park has staff that work landscaping and site escort so it appears they work hard to keep the RV sites well maintained.

The park is easy to navigate as long as everyone parks where they should. We did have issues getting out of the park as the driveway has a steep drop to the road which scraped the skid plates of the RV. It looked like others had the same issue.

The services were adequate: water pressure of 40 psi or better depending on when the well cycled, strong on the electrical voltage, and no problems with the sewer other than it took us thirty-five feet of hose in our RV site. Other sites looked like this was not a problem. There was also cable TV service provided with many channels.

We stayed on the monthly rate. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

We arrived after sunset, but was greeted and escorted to our camp site by a employee. He was very helpful in helping me back in my "new to me" 40' motorhome into the space. Site was very level and easy to get into/out of. We stayed in the upper sites.

The park was very quiet and guests were friendly. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs. Having the beach so close was wonderful, we did spend 1 day at the beach until the weather turned stormy. Lots of nice rigs. Very well kept landscaping. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

While staying at Camp Gulf we took a day and went to the Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL, to me this was one of the highlights of our trip. If you like airplanes and have an interest in WW1 or WWII, you'll will really enjoy this museum. Plan to spend a better part of the day.

One of the nicest parks we have visited in 100,000+ miles of travel to 49 states. It was sumptuous.

Big park but everyone friendly and welcoming.

Danial escorted us to our back-in site and very professionally guided us in.

Later, he noted we did not have a picnic table on our site and, without being asked, delivered one with a back hoe.

With surely return. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night in a beach site pull in. Everyone was very friendly and the park is very clean. When we arrived they escorted us to our site and helped us pull in. The beach sites are very close together. Not enough room to open our awning but the view was great and the beach was literally right out our windshield. The electrical box was needing a little attention. It was rusted badly and the front cover fell off when we plugged in. Although, it had good solid power. The water pressure was fine but the beach sites don't have sewer hook ups. When we return we may opt for a off beach site so we have a little more room. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in Destin. It's Destin. We ate at louisiana lagniappe. Great sea food

We stayed in our 45'. Some sites are tight in a big rig I noticed some areas where awnings were touching. 606 was easy with a drive area directly opposite for easy in and out. We did not want to be directly in the sand, the walk was 5 minutes to the ocean. Wifi was poor at the site but fine in the clubhouse. Tons of kids and activities to keep them busy. Wood picnic table on site. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

1/2 mile walk to great outlet center.

We really liked this campground. We did have Good Sam discount for the non-holiday nights we were there. We were on a beach site, which was basically 2nd row. The beach is beautiful, with white sand and blue-green clear water like in the Caribbean. Apparently beaches are private in Destin, so the beach section for the campground is not very big. However, there is so much beach between the ocean and the beach front sites, that it never got crowded, and the campground was full while we were there (week before Easter). Could not really get wi-fi, but I was told at check-in it would be best at the office due to the campground being full. The air and ocean temps were slightly chilly still, but otherwise the weather was beautiful. Campground was easy to maneuver through in our 40' motorhome. There is a big dip at the exit, and we did scrape leaving. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

If you are a beach freak, this is the campground for you! If you're not, but in the Destin area, this is the campground for you! We had a spot off the beach, but it was a short walk to the beach and I mean right on the beach. Super friendly staff, always willing to help, even when we had some electrical issues with the electric post. We called and they were there literally before we could hang up the phone. Fixed it in a jiffy and we had power again. A little pricy, but worth the money. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in a cabin in early April. It was a small one bedroom unit- clean and tidy. It had a fully functional kitchen, stocked with all the necessary cooking essentials. Included a dishwasher which was very nice. One bathroom which was rather small but clean and fully usable. Bed linens were provided- the bed seemed to be a queen or full at least. There was a sleeping loft above the bedroom where the children slept. The wooden ladder was very steep and not suitable for very young children. No railing or protective barrier to prevent someone from falling off the edge so kids need to be old enough to be safe. There were some foam sleeping pads provided plus linens in the loft which made things nicer for the kids. There were no night stands or clothing storage options in the loft. An adult cannot fully stand up in the loft. It was hot at night- an oscillating fan would be good improvement. Opening the small windows up there greatly improved the conditions by allowing cross ventilation. The single bedroom was small and didn't have a dresser for storage but did have a nice bureau which accommodated hanging-up clothes. Not that you typically being many dress clothes to the beach. The outdoor pool closer to the ocean was open and quite nice, but the water was still very cold. The pool closer to the main road was still covered by an inflatable structure- it kept the water temp up but also trapped in the chloride and heat. Felt like a sauna in there. Kids liked it but massively unpleasant for audits. The kids enjoyed the smallish playground and liked to ride their bikes around the complex. It's definitely not the largest complex but backs right up to the ocean. The rec room seemed a little tired and dated. During the summer season, activities are offered for the children. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Cabin.

We stayed here for Spring Break in a Hybrid with our family and we really enjoyed it. The employees are very helpful and pleasant, the 2 pools were very clean, the bath houses and showers were clean and nice. The site was perfectly level. The beach was beautiful. The other campers were generally families, it was a great environment for kids, the speed limit in the campground is taken seriously and there are kids everywhere. Highly recommend this for a family. The front row sites are the best of course and the sites on the East side are shaded and nice. We stayed in 608 which was fine. The only reason I wouldn't give a 10 is that the sites are very close together, which is to be expected on prime beach property. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Some of the sites on the opposite side, around 523, were lovely and shaded with small lawns. Book early if you want a front row site. Don't miss Jordano's Pizza, they deliver right to the camper and it was delicious!

This is an absolutely beautiful RV park that also provides a few lovely cabins. The park sits right on the beach along what is known as "the Emerald Coast". The sand is pure white and soft and the ocean is emerald green amazingly clear water. There are sand bars offshore so the surf is very manageable. The park offers the upper area which is heavily tree'd and the lower area which is on sand. There are many amenities - being there is February we really enjoyed the covered heated pool and spa. The park offers many activities for the campers which were all fun and gave us an opportunity to make friends. The sites are long, wide and concrete with picnic tables. The upper area seems to be primarily for medium to small RVs and the large RV's seem to at the lower area. Our site was spacious with plenty of room to put out our slides and awning. Access to the park off the street is very easy. And the roads within the park made pulling in and out quite easy. A member of staff takes you to your site upon check-in and helps you get in to your site, if you need the help. Members of staff are working on the park every day all and are very very friendly and helpful. Good cell phone coverage, good cable TV. WiFi was adequate for checking email but not for doing business. There are many many restaurants and shopping very close by. We cannot wait to go back. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.

Expensive beach site with very little space around your RV. Wi-Fi is hit and miss, mostly miss. Can't beat the beach. Water is great and you are parked on the sand. Get a golf cart. Friendly staff and a variety of sites if you want more space and less sand. Shopping, restaurants, tourist things in area if you want. Pools were great. Had 9 people, ages 2-67 with all having a great time. Expensive and not perfect, but for us, well worth it. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

We found the beautiful Website misleading. This campground was disheveled and neglected looking the minute we drove in. Weeds everywhere and no landscaping attention anywhere on sites with grass. We actually wanted a Beach Front site but local regulations prohibit dogs anywhere near the beach even if you don’t walk your dog on the beach. The Office will not rent you a Beach Front site if you have a dog. OK, not a problem. The Office assigned us to a shaded site near the entrance. The site obviously had not been cleaned up in a long time. Banana peels, cigarette butts and animal bones simply tossed around the site and the pool looked like “Polio Pond.” I called the office from our motor coach and complained. They said they would send down someone to clean up the area. I told them not to bother because we are leaving now and I wanted a full refund. I didn’t wait to hear their spiel about refunds over the phone. I drove our coach up to the Exit and went into the Office. The Manager wasn’t too happy about refunding all of our money but eventually did after giving me a difficult time. Save Your Money! We found a better RV resort just one mile away! We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Holiday weekend rate. Nice CG with some sites directly beach front. These sites are no pets or sewer (daily dump wagon for a fee). All others have sewer and pets are allowed. Our site was in the upper park area which wasn't near the beach, but was a short walk through the beach sites to the beach. The rates are tiered - Beach front, beach sites, upper park, north upper park. Of course the beach front are the most expensive. If you want absolute beach, then choose beach front. Some beach sites will have a view, but a lot of them don't. There is no shade or privacy, and sites are closer together. In the upper park section there are trees with some sites having nice shade. There are also hedges between some sites for privacy. This area felt more "nestled". All sites are concrete, except the beach front appear to be sand. Ours was very level. The Wi-Fi could be frustrating at times and work well at other times. We didn't use their cable )used our satellite) but they have a lot of channels. They have a lot of workers who are helpful and friendly, with check-in being a breeze. They escort you to your site. A bit pricey, but other than the state parks, this is pretty much it this close to the beach without having to cross the road. We would stay here again. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Motorhome.

Love the beach access, been here 3 different times. Very pricey but if you want to be able to walk to the beach in 5 minutes or less this is the place. Stayed in the upper area, shade and grass. We camped at Camp Gulf in a Fifth Wheel.
