We had an absolutely wonderful weekend at Gamble Rogers park. The beach loop is right off the beach; you can hear the surf from your site. If you have an RV with a window in front/back, a few of them (sites 15-21 or so?) even offer an overlook of the ocean. The beach itself is beautiful -- fairly soft sand, with few shells/rocks/seaweed. Sites on the beach loop are clean, pretty level, and not too close; a bit of vegetation between each site provides a bit of privacy. Bathrooms/showers also in fine condition. Campground host was very friendly. This was probably my favorite campground so far, and we will likely be making an annual visit -- so long as I can get the reservations! We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Flagler Beach and Ormond Beach are nice little beach towns, near to the north and south of the park. A few little restaurants & ice cream shops each, but not a big "beach town" vibe for either. Pleasant and relaxed.

We stayed here 5 nights only because it was booked and was all we could get. We stayed in the sites across from the beach but did not mind. Would have preferred to be on the beach but the these sites were very spacious and private. They have a river and a pier you can fish off of or launch your boat. They have a nice camp shop with rentals, snacks, and firewood. Pets are not allowed on the state park beach, but pretty much any other beyond their border. There is a bunch of restaurants and stores nearby. We will definitely stay here again...if we can get a site! We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

We stayed at site 31 on the beachside. This is my favorite park. Love going to sleep at night to the sound of the waves. The winds off the water keep the bugs away too so it was a wonderful relaxing stay. Will be back. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

Dogs are not allowed on the beach in front of the Gamble Rogers Park, but if you go through the gate at the back of the park, you can take your dog on that part of the beach.

We stayed in the backside sites and enjoyed our stay. Beach access is still limited but available due to storm damage in October. Sites were level and had most had a thick patch of palmetto between adjacent sites for privacy. Staff was especially helpful. Loved this park! What a Florida jewel. There are two camping areas: one beach side and one on the intracoastal. The beachside is right on the beach, but the sites are tight. The intracoastal side is new and the sites are very nice. Staff was very helpful and friendly. The beach is very nice and mostly deserted when we were there. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

There are really two campgrounds. One is in the woods on the Intracoastal Waterway and the one we prefer is right on the dunes of the Atlantic Ocean. The dune sites are close together along a narrow sand roadway with no shade or privacy. It is the location that makes this a heavily used campground. There are several walkways over the dune to a sensational Atlantic Beach and an outdoor shower to wash off the beach sand. At the south end of the campground is a gate that leads to a dog friendly beach. Some sites are a bit short for anything over 30 feet but most will accommodate a 40 footer. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Large level sites. Very easy in and out. Utilities were good: w/e/s. Bathhouse looked fairly new. Showers were very clean. Gravel site. They have two sides to the campground: one on the river and one on the ocean. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Best value anywhere!! We stayed on the beachside. It's difficult to get a site reserved there because these are very popular. We could only get 2 nights for our stay. Our site was 03 which is a back-in site right next to the dunes by the Atlantic Ocean. However, the dunes were tall and the vegetation was such that we could not see the ocean. The sites just across from us would have worked fine too (and they are sometimes more available). Sites like 19 & 21 have ocean views but are solidly booked up. But if you can get a site, do it! It was awesome! Walking to the beach each day, sitting there in the evening listening to the waves. Nothing better. And it's like having your own private beach; there's hardly anyone there. Flagler Beach is a nice, low-key town with no highrise condos everywhere. You can take your dog on the beach too; just not within the boarders of the park. You just have to walk a little bit up the road to another entrance. Restaurants in town (about 3 miles) are great too. Park staff were extremely friendly and helpful, including the camp host. We'll definitely be back! We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Travel Trailer.

We ate at Tortuga's and it was good. Right on the A1A overlooking the ocean with a great patio. It's very dog friendly too.

We stayed in the loop furthest from the water as our fifth wheel was too long at 35 ft. The Intracoastal Waterway loop was great with large, mostly unshaded spots. The gravel made for very level spots. Drainage was tested (and passed) with the downpours from the tropical depression forming. No pooling of water. Only the sites on the inner loop have sewer, which is funny because they encircle the rest rooms. Probably an ecological decision.

Flagler Beach is how all Florida beaches use to be with lots of easy, public access. Would return again and stay longer. Rate is the senior Florida resident rate. No wi-fi. Minimal antenna reception. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed in the Riverside Loop. 50/30/20 amp, water; inner sites have sewer. Outside sites more privacy. No shade, but level asphalt/gravel sites. Staff is great. Mile long hiking trail, bike paths (paved and unpaved), kayaking on the Inter-Coastal Waterway, fishing, small butterfly garden. Well maintained loop. Only a short walk across A1A to the beach. And, a short walk/bike ride/drive to Flagler Beach for groceries, restaurants, fuel, etc. Would return to Riverside Loop definitely. One of our favorite campgrounds, we stay here at least once a year if we can get reservations. Beachfront camping. They are expanding to the intercoastal side of the park, should be open later this year. Several excellent restaurants in the area. Beautiful beach, wonderful surf, lots of road noise and sand. Sites fairly wide but most are best for 32 feet long or less. Large trailers and 5ers will have trouble backing in because the road is fairly narrow. Electric good, water a little weak, just adequate for a shower in our rig. No shade at all. Verizon MiFi and cell worked great. Not much beach at high tide, beautiful at low tide. Can't see the ocean from most sites, but the sound of the surf at night after the traffic subsides will cause us to return. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Great, right behind the first dune, 100' to the beach. Even though your between A1A and the ocean, road traffic is not an issue. We pulled in forward and had a frontal view of the ocean. Site was raked and in fantastic shape. Palmetto between sites gave good privacy. Free air TV had 50+ channels. The High Tide grill was a 10 minute walk north on the beach and had acceptable frozen seafood for lunch on the beach. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.

Incredible views of the ocean just steps from your site. Because this is a narrow park right on the ocean, road noise is considerable, but that is made up by the view and is somewhat blocked by the wind noise and sounds of the surf. Sites are very sandy, so you may also want blocks or something solid if you use jacks. Also, if you are on the beach side and want to pull in forward, you will need a longer electric cord and water hose. Only recommendation is to not come here during Bike Week in Daytona as roar of motorcycles could be heard almost all night and certainly all day. Would highly recommend this place--fills up very fast, so get reservations at 11 month opening. We camped at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
