This is a large park on the edge of the Ocala National Forest & very close to Lake Oklawaha. Not sure if the park has access to the lake shoreline. This park does attract many ATV owners to ride the trails in the national forest. Sites are grass/sand covered. Some sites are shady & some sites are sunny. There are also some privately owned sites that usually have some improvements on them (pavers/patios) that are not available. There are some sites that are reasonably level, but many sites that are unlevel to varying degrees. The power pedestals/water connections are at the back of the sites. The sewer connection on many lots are an unusually long distance from the pad site. Electric worked well, but water pressure was very low. Cable tv is only available in the clubhouse. We turned our OTA antenna to 210* & were able to receive the 4 major networks in HD. Wifi worked well in the mornings, but was very slow in the evenings. Baths & showers were very clean. Laundry room appears to have been recently remodeled, but only has 4 washers & 2 dryers. The clubhouse is a large building that contains a pool table, cornhole boards, & a nice looking pool outside. It's 21 miles to Walmart in Palatka. This trip includes a 3 mile stretch of unpaved road. Inquire at the office for directions. The roads in the park are all paved. The staff was very friendly & helpful. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

First off - this is now a KOA Park so the listing title is a little bit off. We visit KOA's often when we travel. This location is definitely different. The sites are much larger than normal for a KOA. However, this location is in the Ocala National Forest and the nearest town (Silver Springs/ Ocala) is over 20 miles away - so come fully stocked with supplies. This KOA easily supports big rig RV's. This appears to be a 'go-to' destination for ATV enthusiasts since it joins into well over 100 miles of ATV trails in the National Forest. The only downside is the location of the water, sewer and power hookups. Whom ever originally laid out this park clearly had some weird ideas. Nearly all the sites have sewer on one side and power and water on the other side. Most modern RV's have all hook ups on the 'drivers' side. Therefore, make sure you have sewer and water hose extension with you. Other than that - this is a really nice park and worth the drive. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have an ATV - this is the place for you. All the roads are paved and they adjoin to the trail system of the Ocala National Forest. Make sure you bring and necessary supplies (food). There is not any major grocery store for over 20 miles. Wi-Fi - this place has really good wifi - there is no cable TV but you should be able to get some OTA stations. Satellite works great.

Too many ATV riders and too many folks who refuse to abide by park rules. Most of the ATV riders watched their speed while in the park but some drove way too fast. Others had radios/music players that were way too loud. There were several non-ATV campers who let their dogs run loose, which is c9ncern for those of us with small dogs...which we keep leashed as we're supposed to. The 50 A campsites range from somewhat unlevel to impossibly uneven. The 30 A sites are somewhat better . Since the weather was cool during our stay we were able to get by with less current but in hot weather this would have been a real problem. The clubhouse is very roomy and recently renovated. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a large lovely resort set on a bluff overlooking Lake Oklawaha. We chose this park because it is ATV/UTV friendly with direct access to the 150+ miles of OHV trails in the Ocala National Forest. The staff is helpful & the environs well-cared for. The sites are grassy & a few are unlevel, but there are so many sites to chose from that it is not a problem. Its out in the country so its very quiet. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $27.00

We rerouted here when we had a change in plans over the July 4th weekend. We were shocked that anyone had a site available...and we were REALLY shocked when we arrived on July 1 and saw about 60% of the sites open! But by the morning of the 4th, there was maybe 10% occupied. And most of those are owned sites.

This is an ATV lovers dream! Most of the folks that were there on the weekend had ATVs with them....so it was NOT quiet! But when they left it was really peaceful!

When you arrive, they let you drive around and pick your own site. Pay attention to where the trees are, if you're looking for some shade. There's not a lot of it....but if you plan carefully you'll get some.

The bathrooms were clean and the shower stalls were probably the most beautiful I've ever seen at a campground! We didn't use them, but I did look and they were awesome!

2 negatives here..... 1) The amazing renovated laundry facility is awesome...but they have hookups for about 20 washers and 10 driers (give or take) but they only have 4 tiny washers and 2 driers. And they didn't have air conditioning, which is understandable....and the windows all open....but there are NO fans! Hot, steamy and stagnant in there! Just a couple of ceiling or box fans would be a huge improvement!

2) There was an outage in the water system.... no water from 6 PM Saturday to at least 11PM.... We understand that "stuff happens"... But the next day at 9:00 AM we were informed of a boil water situation and that it would be in effect until they say otherwise.... We left Tuesday at noon and we were never told of it being lifted. So was it lifted and were never told?

Overall, it's a great place....just needs some tweaks here and there. And there's not much to do....or stores nearby. So plan accordingly! We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tried to get into Salt Springs and it was full, then tried Rodman and there were full, then found this gem, we stayed for the weekend, was a hidden gem. Loved the hiking trails, and the lots were very spacious. Plan on cooking at your RV as there are no stores or restaurants for a ways, you are out in the middle of the Ocala Forest. Staff were very friendly, terrific views, beautiful lake , sunrises and sunsets are awesome. The park has a huge pool. The grounds are immaculate. Bath houses are very clean and showers are spacious. Great park also if you like to ATV as they have ATV trails. We cannot wait to go back there. Prices are very reasonable. The site are HUGE. Did I mention the friendly staff. While there take a trip to Rodman Dam, out of this world. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This park has changed over or is the process of becoming a KOA. The pool was awesome. Being able to ride an ATV from the park to Ocola OHV area was awesome. Grass sites are somewhat level and bathhouse was clean. They need to get firewood and a better stocked camp store. This park is far from anything so bring what you need. The WiFi was useless but I did have a weak ATT signal. I would stay here if I was riding an ATV but other than that unless you fish its limited. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Best experience especially if you want to go trail riding in the Ocala National Forest. Clean friendly overwhelmingly unbelievable! Can't wait to go back. Lake is beautiful. Camp ground is clean, safe and friendly. Wow can't say enough. Will be coming back for years to come. Just changed to a KOA and got the Good Sam discount. Thank you for a wonderful time. This is a great well kept secret. Beautiful RV Park that has been updated recently. We came in on a Tuesday and were the only ones here. A rally came in on Thursday and left by Sunday. We were only going to stay two nights but have been here a week now. Very quiet. If you have a jeep or an ATV this is the place for you. There are miles of trails directly across the road in the Ocala National forest that are designated for ATV's, Jeeps, and Motorcycles. The Florida State Trail is about 4 miles down the road and my husband ran it in both directions (about 14 miles each way). The more people know about this place the better it will be. They have a beautiful clubhouse and pool (not heated). Hopefully the heat will come in the future. Docks are also in the making on the lake (new owner had to apply with the core). The staff is friendly and helpful. We camped here in our 40' diesel pusher and had no problem getting here. Stick to the directions on the web site and don't try to take the FR 74/77. Sandy dirt, great for jeep'n but not for the motorhome. We will definitely be back. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We camped for a week on the advice of friends and they were correct that it is an off the beaten path park. The sites are well spaced and the physical park is attractive and clean. This winter was very cold so the park was almost deserted and we had no neighbors. We were able to walk through the woods but we did not use the swimming pool. Some of the sites are level and some are on a slope. There is no shade to speak of for hot weather campers. The staff was friendly in the office. The laundry room, showers and bathrooms need a good cleaning. I watched the cleaning lady push a broom around the floors and call it good. I cleaned the laundry room myself before I used it. Our dogs loved the park as it was so quiet. The nearest gas and groceries are about 35 miles away and this park is almost in the Ocala National Forest. To get anywhere from here you need a GPS unit as you'll be driving on forest service roads of packed sand so it will be easy to get lost. We camped at Lake Oklawaha RV Resort in a Motorhome.
