Best place around. The sites were awesome and spacious. The staff was the best, super friendly and helpful. The onsite pool is a little small but you have access to the very large and family friendly pool at the Ramada Inn across the road and also that's were the beach access is. Just an all around great experience at this RV park. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Publix grocery is just over the bridge from this park. Also the boardwalk is just across the road with lots of restaurants and shopping.

Big rig friendly with level sites. Easy on and of access to I10. Showers and laundry was good. Water pressure was weak at campsite. The beach and several swimming pools were across the road at Ramada Inn which we could use. All sites had concrete pads. No dog park but large field behind camper to walk dog. Park was good for bike riding. No problem using our satellite. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.
Walmart, shopping, and restaurants within 10 miles. Destin was within 10 miles with great beaches.

We spent 4 nights in this park in a 45' motorhome. We had a back-in site, in the middle island of the campground. Destin West RV Resort has brick pavers to park on, and for the large picnic table. Each rig is separated by a large mulched bed with shrubbery. There are no trees. It is immaculately maintained, with trash pickup daily. In keeping with the dog-friendly status, there is a walking path around the park as well as grassy strips behind the parking area, which makes total sense when you see it. Rate was a bit high in comparison to other parks in the area, but it is well-lit, clean, and pleasant. There is a heated pool and a fire-pit for community fires on Tuesday and Thursday. We will stay here again. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Minutes away from any sort of shopping you might want and multiple grocery stores. The park is affiliated with the Ramada Inn across the street, beach access can be gained by walking or driving across the street. The park is located on the bay.

Very nice park. Nice paved roads and concrete pads and picnic table. Plenty of grassy areas and walking paths for your pets. One of the few parks that has all day trash pickup at your site, which speaks to the great onsite staff/service. We had to have several important packages delivered and the staff was VERY helpful to ensure we received them. Our site had a GREAT bay view and large adjacent grassy area with a community fire pit that the management operated on Tues & Weds evenings, including s'mores! Very busy HWY98 sometimes hard to cross and created road noise, otherwise would have been highest rating possible (this is the trade off for proximity to the beaches and other services). We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Self serve dog bath, U-Scrub A Pup in Mary Esther, and nice dog park in Destin, came in handy.

We stayed here 2 nights en route to a longer stay in Florida. The resort has a scenic setting as it backs up to the bay. Sites are lengthy and interior roads are wide. Sites and surrounding borders are nicely landscaped. Access to the park is off Hwy 98 which is a very busy road, so turning in from the west could take awhile depending on traffic. Guests can use the pool and other services at the Ramada Inn across the highway. There is a pool on site but it is smaller and unheated. We would stay here again and camped here in a 42' motorhome. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
The Destin "strip" is filled with many restaurants, beachwear shops, and normal resort businesses. Destin Commons is a newer large shopping center about 10 miles to the east. There are several access roads from the north that lead to Destin, but 293 IS a toll road and the total cost for a 3-axle RV towing a car is close to $40. We would have chosen another route if we had known!

This is a very nice smaller RV Park on the main road from Fort Walton Beach to Destin, Florida. We were unsure before arriving due to the somewhat spotty reviews. But just look at the place. Great sites with pavers, patios and plenty of landscaping between sites.
The price is high, but the property is located on beautiful Okaloosa Island with the Choctawhatchee Bay on one side and the Atlantic on the other side. Pretty prime real estate - and they take care of the place very well.
The laundry room and bathrooms are awfully small, but it is a smaller RV Park. They are really clean and nicely appointed.
We'll be back even though it's so expensive. Nice people, nice RV sites and good location. If only most other RV parks were as nice as this one.
If you can't get a place in the two very good Florida State Parks in the area - which you can't unless you reserve nearly a year in advance - splurge and stay here. You'll enjoy it. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Destin is a great beach town. Very nice and not at all over-commercialized like some other beach towns. Sugar sand beaches with beautiful blue water.

We stayed at this park for one night as an evaluation for a longer stay this summer. The park was super clean. It is in a great location for walking to shops, restaurants, the beach, and a gulf fishing pier. We did not experience the loud noises as others reported even though we were there on a Saturday night during spring break season. The park is pricey. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Use the walkway over the busy highway.

Very expensive for what we got. Would have been OK if in the back overlooking the bay but we were looking out at the highway & right next to a parking lot of a bar & restaurant. VERY loud music from the bar audible until 2 or 3 AM. Water pressure was horrible-just a trickle in the shower. They sent a man to check it but he said it was fine. Could be a nice place if you're in a decent spot. We were told we got the last available site when we reserved months in advance & yet there were many openings the entire time we were there. It was to much trouble to move for 2 nights. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Request spots 12,38,39,40.

Layout of sites is well planned out. More restroom and showers are needed (only 2 per gender). Also the laundry only has 2 machines. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Park is on Okaloosa Island so backs up to the bay on one side and across the street is the white sands of the Gulf. Each site is concrete with patio pavers and picnic table. WiFi and cable tv both have good reception. Park enjoys all the amenities of the Ramada Inn (which is on the gulf) across the street, including large pools, hot tubs and well equipped fitness room. Located right on Hwy 98 so best spots are towards rear of park. Sometimes have to wait for traffic to get across road to get to beach, but typically not a real problem. If laundry room is in use, can use laundry at Ramada across street. The availability of the Ramada was a definite plus. I note they are raising their monthly rates markedly for next year (+$200) and daily rates are increasing as well (+$10). Lots to do in Destin. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We loved this park and actually ended up extending our time here. The park is not too large and all pads are spacious with pavers, newer square picnic table w/umbrella and well maintained landscaping. The maintenance person is always around working and trash pick up at site throughout the day. Staff and fellow campers all very friendly; a great vibe at this park. We pulled in forward with our outside living space facing the bay. There are a few spots that are right on the bay, but they were already taken, but even being a few spots back did not matter. The pool area was very nice and overlooked the bay. The weather was chilly while we were there, so we did not use it. It was nice to have the reciprocal with the Ramada across the street. Almost every day, we walked over and used their beachfront. In the summer months, use of their pool facilities would be a huge plus. WiFi was excellent and satellite was no problem. Destin was a short few miles away. We will definitely return to this park and would highly recommend it. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
McGuires Irish Pub in Destin is a must.

Destin West is actually in Fort Walton Beach right on the Bay, literally ten minutes outside of Destin proper. This turned out to be a huge plus due to traffic. This resort is all paved with extremely level pads. The pads are actually cobblestone. We didn't need to put our jacks down at all, but we do just to have the additional stability. They hit the pad, and we were done. There are no pull-throughs here, but they do have pull-ins. We had one that when we raised the front shade, we were looking at boats and water (site 10). The hookups are well maintained. The cable TV had over 100 channels. There is a pool with a nice shower and bathroom. On Friday night they set up a screen for a swim up movie. Lounging there you are looking right out at the water. However, there is only one restroom each for men and women that I know of. There may be a bathroom and shower in the front office, so you may want to confirm if that is a need. If you are a large family who really needs the additional facilities that could be an issue. A cobblestone/paved path surround the park for walking which is very nice. We would walk it each morning with the dogs and stop to look into the bay to count the crabs and creatures we saw swimming about. We saw dolphins on one of our morning walks right from the resort. Doggie bags and trashcans are positioned throughout. There is a small private beach as well, but the horrible storm the week before still had it submerged. One site has an unobstructed view, but everyone going to the beach would have to pass it (site 39). There are a couple of unique features to this resort which you may or may not like. First, there is a gate right from the walking path which links the resort to Fuddpuckers, a family friendly arcade/beach bar/ grill right next door! Great views. You can rent watersports here, and we took a pontoon up to Crab Island. Fuddpucker's does have live music on the weekend, so if you are looking for real quiet this may not be for you. However, I am a fairly light sleeper, and I didn't have a problem at all. Also, when you stay here you have access to all the Ramada resort offers across the street. Access is challenging due to traffic, but there is an elevated crosswalk. There are more restaurants, pools, beach and a swim up bar. We will go back. I only have a few dings. The Wi-Fi is spotty at best. We used our phones as hotspots most of the time. The good thing is, unlike many RV resorts, there was no additional fee for the Internet. They have one very clean BBQ grill, but I think for this price each site should have their own. They need larger trashcans as well. Regular size trash bags won't fit. You must use grocery bags. For this price point, most places have valet trash pick up. The maintenance men come around on golf carts several times a day, so it wouldn't be difficult to add this feature. All in all, this was one of the best RV vacations we have had. We are already planning to make this an annual trip. The best deal is to stay for a week with a Sam's club discount. We actually added one more day, and, with tax, it came up to $109. But, you get what you pay for, and I would call this a high-end park. One point to note, on the web site, they say it is restricted to Class A, Class C, and fifth wheels. That was not the case when we were there so still consider it if you have a travel trailer. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is immaculate and the staff and other campers are extremely friendly. Their top priority is upkeep of the property. However, the downside for us (and maybe you can take this as a warning), the bars have activities and live bands planned every night of the week that have very high levels of bass that thump all night. Sat and Sun till 4am and weekdays till 1am. I had to buy earplugs to fall asleep. If this does not bother you please disregard and enjoy a very nice campground. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.
