If you look up "Old Florida" in the dictionary, there is a picture of Twin Lakes Fish Camp. The owners are the nicest people on the planet. They have some "full timers" here and then some transient sites. Some are full hookup and some are water and electric only. Electric is 30 amp. The full timers were very friendly and helpful in every way. They also have 3 cabins. We stayed in a water/electric site under an amazing oak tree. The facilities are rustic which was fine with us. This campground is on Cross Creek at Lake Lochloosa. They rent boats for fishing and offer air boat tours. There is a small camp store that has the basics as well as live minnows. If relaxation, fishing, spanish moss and wildlife is your thing, this is the place. Otherwise, this would not appeal to you. For us, it was amazing and we'll be back. I would give Twin Lakes Fish Camp a 10 if all sites were full hook up. We camped at Twin Lakes Fishing Camp in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

It is remote! The only restaurant nearby is The Yearling which is southern cooking at it's finest! Nearest grocery store is 17 miles away in Gainesville. The Marjorie Kinnans Rawlings house is 5 minutes away and the tour was very interesting.

The name says it all. This is an access to two lakes. There is a boat ramp, docks and bait and tackle shop. The RV sites are grass with a small concrete pad for a patio/picnic table. The longer term residents are friendly and helpful as is the owner/manager. It is pretty much out in the country surrounded by Wildlife Management Areas and close by a state park. We would stay here again if in the Gainesville area. We camped at Twin Lakes Fishing Camp in a Travel Trailer.
