This is one of the better places to stay in Jacksonville, if you have a large RV, and are there for short stay. The park is a convenient distance and an easy drive to Mayo Clinic. Although in a fairly-high traffic area, it is certainly much quieter than the RV Parks to the north which are under the-path of arriving and departing airplanes. The management is professional in manner, and helpful if one has an uncertain schedule of leaving. The hookups all work well and are conveniently located. On the negative side, the sites are close together. We have stayed here before when meeting appointments at Mayo Clinic and we would certainly stay here again. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stay at this park to visit a relative in Jacksonville. It is mostly park models, and long term RVs, with about 8 short term spots out front by the road. These spots are VERY close together, and each time we've stayed they have all been full. Don't hope for an empty neighboring spot. The campground is clean and they repaved all of the roads since the last time we stayed here. The staff is friendly. The office wasn't open when we checked in, so we went to the site we were told that we had. A staff member came to check on us, and discovered that they had moved us (in the computer) to another spot. Since we were already set up, he just put the other folks in that spot when they arrived. The campground is located on a busy road with lots of warehouses and tire dealers and that kind of commercial development along it. The traffic on the road quiets down at night, so you don't really hear it. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice park but spaces are extremely narrow. Not recommended for big rigs. Our space was a pull through that was easy to get into but impossible to pull out of because there was a bush about 6 inches from our coach in the direction we needed to turn to get out. Impossible to make the turn without destroying both the coach and the bush. So we backed out but this plan worked badly because cars were parked in the way of our exit. These cars have assigned spaces so they are parked there regularly in a way that blocks egress for any but a small RV. They just put everything too close together here in an effort to maximize the land use, but it makes it way too tight for a larger RV. With a small RV I would recommend this place. The management was very nice. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Like others have said, it is an older place with a lot of long-term people. It is in kind of a commercial area.. not necessarily industrial but more wholesale type commercial businesses. Mobile homes in the back, long-term RVs in the middle, and overnighters in the front. But, it is very clean and well cared for. Grass was mowed and the long term people don't have a bunch of junk piled around like you see a lot of places. They do have plants and patio stuff out but it is all very neat and taken care for. Girl in office was very friendly both on phone and in person. Overnight spot was next to the road but once inside, I didn't hear much. Concrete pads with grass next to it and small picnic table. Wifi worked well. Would not mind spending a night or two here again. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Older Park with few pull through for short term and mostly older long term or Mobil homes. Cable, WiFi, utilities worked well for us. Only here for Mayo Clinic visit and to visit friend. Just a place to park and not "camp." Bathrooms old but functional. Check in personnel very pleasant. Over nites in first row right next to busy road. With windows closed and a/c or heat on, noise kept at minimum. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at Fleetwood in March and again in May, both times while we visited a relative in Jacksonville. As other reviewers have stated, the 10 "visitor" spots are all at the front of the park, across a parking area from Route 1. The rest of the park is for long-termers and permanent units. Some of them are run down. That said, the utilities were convenient and easy to use. If you are in 1A - your cable outlet is on your "door" side on the neighbor's utility pole. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The office is closed on weekends, but you can reach a staff member by phone if you need one. There was a mix-up with our site when we arrived on a Sunday, and the manager fixed it right away. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

This RV Park has 10 cement, very tight pull-thru overnight sites in front of RV Park facing very noisy/busy Highway 1. The other 90 back in sites are monthly type permanent sites directly behind the front pull-thrus. All utilities including cable TV are strong with good location. Other than being very noisy the park is located 20 mins from downtown Jacksonville and 20 minutes from Mayo Clinic. Maintenance workers are constantly cleaning leaves, mowing grass and trimming bushes so park is clean but older. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Walmart, Public, Krispy Kreme, and other shopping is five minutes away. The Village Bread Cafe is a two minute walk and very good breakfast and lunch.

This is a good place to stay if you have things to attend to in Jacksonville. This Park is about 20-25 min from Mayo Clinic and the heavy traffic goes the opposite way in the morning and the evening. The staff is pleasant and helpful Nevertheless this is an older park mostly populated with permanent residents mostly in fairly old units. The sites for overnight users are in the front of the park. They are quite close together. The hookup are satisfactory. We would stay here again, for it is the most convenient place for activities in Jacksonville or points east of the city. Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 3 nights. It's right in Jacksonville so it was close to where we needed to be. The majority of the park is either mobile homes or long-term RVers. The front of the park is for the short-termers. The staff is very friendly and all the amenities worked fine. The lots are pretty small so our neighbor's awning was almost touching our slides. Fleetwood advertises free wifi but during our stay it was unusable. Either it would not let us on or else once on, it wouldn't let us do much surfing before it stopped working. The RV park is located right off a main road so there is a fair bit of road noise and there's a train that passes nearby in the early mornings. If you're a light sleeper the noise may bother you. We'd probably stay at a different rv park a little further from Jacksonville the next time we're in the area. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: January, 2012 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

RV parks in Jacksonville are very limited so this one is handy for business in the city or when you have people to visit. 25 minute drive to beaches. The neighborhood is a little questionable but we had no trouble during our stay. The park is half "trailer park" and half for Rv's. The staff and managers are great people and run the park very well. The only main let-down for the park is the bathrooms. No doubt the managers are limited on what they could do with run-down aging bathrooms that are difficult to clean. It is time the owners dipped into their pockets and modernized them. An update for the building is way overdue and as a result we could only say that they were way below the standard expected of $35 a night. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We just paid $35 to be accused of stealing a site, and hassled beyond belief! We arrived late and followed the late check-in instructions that were on the sign at the office to choose any open site and pay in the morning. That was not good enough. Three knocks on our door later (all after 11pm), we're finally told that it's ok to stay until the morning. They weren't going to provide a key to the washroom, but apparently reconsidered and came by at midnight to give us one. It would seem that there is a specific area for overnight and we were just supposed to know that by psychic powers I guess (absolutely no instructions to that effect anywhere). They saw us setting up and could have come and told us then that we were in the wrong place and we would have gladly moved, but no, they waited until we were all hooked up with our two young kids sleeping before they decided to come and pay us a visit. Very poor customer service. We will never come back here again, regardless of how close it is to Jacksonville. We camped at Fleetwood RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
