Boyd's is all about location to KW as it is right on the bus route to town or it's a reasonable 4-5 mile bike ride in. We had a site on the bay (142) and it was quite nice with lot's of sun. I can see that some sites would be a challenge for larger motor coaches. Plenty of tree's on lots of sites. Most look to be fairly level. There are some sites like ours that didn't have a cement pad. No big issue. We have a 32' Class C. Wifi was good as was the cable TV. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.
Take the blue to KW (bus stop in front of De Luna rest.) as it gets you to the main core quicker and closer.

As stated in many reviews, the sites are very tight and normally requires assistance from the campground staff or a neighboring camper to help park a rig; we stayed in a 38' motorhome. Management has also decided to use every possible space for revenue which compounds the problem and also leaves very little space for shielding vegetation not to mention little opportunity for pets. Not a very appealing campground. However, if your main goal is to camp close to downtown Key West then this is the place for you. Very convenient and an easy bike ride or short taxi ride to downtown. Would not stay here again. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

The park was clean and it is close to downtown Key. However, if you in a 45 ft Motorhome forgot it. This park is great for tents and small campers. Every large motorhome owner I spoke with said the same thing I said. First time, last time. Not too much to do at the campground but we did come here to be close to Key West As I look outside my window for my departure I will need to ask 3 neighbors to move their vehicles to allow me to exit. I will say the staff here is great. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.
Any rv larger than 37 ft stay away.

Definitely NOT Big Rig friendly! Turns are tight, sites are short, and cars line the narrow roads. It took us and two staffers (one a professional truck driver) half an hour and several tries to park our 35' 5th wheel. To do so, two neighbors moved their vehicles and another had to pull in his awning (thank heavens they were around). Power was out part of each day. I thought we were next to a rocket launch when jets began taking off at 8 a.m. (CG is sandwiched between 3 Navy runways and an international airport). On the plus side, staff was pleasant and helpful and you're just 5 miles from downtown Key West. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.Undo

This was the first time to Key West area & enjoyed our stay overall. Friendly helpful staff. The overall presentation of the sites are very crowed, tight & dated. We were lucky to be placed in a beach front site at the back of the campground (Site #156), this had a small beach / sand front & was in a small quiet little corner. We loved the site, had we been put in any other site we would of probably rated the park 5/10 (if that). Like previous posts had noted, this is not for large RV's, our 29 foot travel trailer was 'snug'. Would only stay again if we could get this particular site. Great place to stay. Easy check-in with a friendly, helpful staff. The roads are paved, wide, and easy to navigate. The sites are level and the hookups are within easy reach. Each site has a concrete pad and picnic table. After parking, I had a branch touching the top of the coach. I saw a staff members going pass the coach and within 10 minutes, the branch had been cut and removed. This is the only place I stay when visiting Key West. Narrow roads and sites, and airport noise. This park was developed years ago for smaller RV's, so getting into a site with a 30' plus unit is a nightmare. There is virtually no room between sites once you get in. In airport flight path. Depending on wind direction there is annoying jet noise during the day. Paved roads and concrete sites surrounded by grass. Clean, heated pool. Friendly, helpful staff. Two maintenance staff arrived quickly in response to my question about cable TV inadequacy. They not only showed me the cable box was working, but offered check my side of the system. Finally diagnosing a loose TV connection to display great cable reception. An unknown WiFi problem, noted by an office door sign, caused poor internet reception that was not resolved during our week long stay. Dog walking is on minimal grass at edge of roads or outside park. Very expensive, but there is not much choice if you want to be close to Key West. An almost perfect RV park. Free Wi-Fi (weak signal, slow, as the office will confirm), pool, showers, toilets, on-site well stocked store, nearby bus service/stops, friendly and attentive staff, shaded level sites, etc. Boyd's also has a boat launch with docks and fish cleaning table. Some sites have the Gulf water as their 'back yard.' Tent sites are also on the water front. Night security. Wanted to give it full marks, but there are some minor issues. Sites are close together and expensive, but considering the location, this might be reasonable. Even though close together, each site has a picnic table. Pool is much too small for the full occupancy. A pool three times the current size would be right. Almost all sites are back-in and without sewer. One thing they definitely have right: showers and toilet facilities, and garbage dumpsters are located around the park. No matter where your site is, you aren't far from one. (So much breeze that you only smell the ocean, most of the time.) Laundry is at the pool/office area. Some sites have a pad, some have a very old and corroded small BBQ. Planes, jets and helicopters are heard frequently. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

This a really the best place to stay when visiting Key West. Yes, the sites are tight but the staff at Boyd's do an excellent job of getting you in and out without incident. We had full hookups and everything that we needed at the park. Across the street is a bus stop and for fifty cents (for seniors) you can catch the bus into town which is better than driving because parking in Key West is expensive and scarce. There are a couple of restaurants close by if you don't want to venture into town. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

Too expensive, but this is Key West. Sites are tight but have seen worse. A previous reviewer fussed about the internet because he was running a business and his usage caused a slowdown. If you are running a business from your RV you should have your own hotspot and not infringe on the entire park. I don't like Tengo either but we didn't have a problem. Staff was nice. Jet noise in AM was LOUD. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Boyds is a nice campground. It is tight. Very tight like everything else in Key West. It is located on Stock Island about 5 miles from downtown. Pretty bad neighborhood but security was excellent. Staff is UNBELIEVABLE and is the main reason we would come back. There are a lot of campers who have been coming here for decades. That's a good sign. We were along the road and frankly you should avoid those spots if possible. Very Noisy. Facilities are in great shape. Restrooms are clean. Showers are excellent. About the only really negative thing I can say about Boyds is they have Tengo Internet. Lousy, lousy Internet service. It is metered by Tengo though no one tells you. As the day goes on (after 7 AM)you'll get bumped off or service will go to a crawl once you have hit your limit for the day or park usage hits its peak. Having owned a campground and dealt with Tengo before I speak from experience. We had to use our hotspot which after the week or so got real expensive. Our business is mobile and if your is too I would plan a different Internet experience but wouldn't let that stop you from coming to Boyds. We plan on coming back next year. The place grows on you and the friendships we have made are priceless. By the way. Key West is in the US but might as well be in Europe. If English is a second language for you no worries. You're French, Russian, German or Spanish will get you by just fine. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

We liked this campground. We stayed here in a RV over Christmas. My only complaint about Boyd's is the cost $100 a night, but you are in Key West. We have 2 scooters that we drove everywhere with no problems. The park is clean. I will go back again after I save up more money. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

To say it in advance: the campground is too expensive, overpriced. He has next to nothing. Except: Location, location, location. This is the only campground in Key West. The downtown, the ride is still a good 15 minutes by car. There are no alternatives and that the owner knows exactly. Depending on wind direction, the planes fly over the campground, park is under the flight path. The sites are small and cramped. The discharge from the neighbors is on the pitch of the nearest neighbor. The internet did not work. The description says: High speed internet. The wooden tables and wooden benches are old and partially decayed. Whether there is 50AMP pitches, we do not know. We booked in April, and there were only 30AMP available. We did not have a parking space on the waterfront. Nevertheless, even at night we heard the noise of Highway A1A. There is also no entertainment. As I said, the board offers nothing. Only a heated pool and that is OK. New campers are allowed at 7 clock in the morning on the tight space maneuvering, without regard to those who may want to sleep yet. We had planned to stay 21 days, but after 6 days we fled. We can not recommend this campground. Never go back. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

We stayed for 4 nights and had a great stay. Our site had a nice water view, was plenty large and close to the other facilities of the campground. Some of the cleanest showers and friendliest staff we have ever encountered. A strong TengoInternet Wi-Fi signal at our site but we used our AT&T cell phone hot spot for Wi-Fi. Land is so expensive in Key West, along with everything else, that a campground couldn't be in the more affluent parts of town. Boyd's prices are less than half of what we have paid at B & B's in Key West in the past. Our last Key West visit last spring, we stayed at Sugarloaf Key but much prefer Boyds Campground. Boyds is located in a working class neighborhood, where many of the KW service workers live as it is the only place they can afford. We were very comfortable with the setting location of Boyd's. KW is a very multicultural town and I suspect this alone makes some visitors a bit uncomfortable. It has become our favorite place to stay in the KW area. This is a very convenient park to central Key West, however it is in a sketchy park of town. We were told by the staff not to walk outside the gates alone at night. Some sites are a comfortable size, unfortunately ours was not. The street and sites are some of the narrowest we've ever been in. Our site, #150, was next to the activities pavilion which didn't lend to much peace and quiet. Would not stay here again. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.Undo
