Good Location on Stock Island. Site was tight and no shade. Stayed for a week and for the most part campground was quiet and orderly. Chickens were everywhere and very loud! We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Travel Trailer.

My husband and I stayed at Boyd's for 3 nights. Our objective for traveling to Key West was to visit the Dry Tortugas National Park. This is a nice park but very tight spaces beside each camper and across the road inside the campground. There are only back in's which was tricky plus maneuvering around the park to get to our spot. Staff was very helpful as they helped guide us in. We typically like pull thru's but since this wasn't an option in Key West, we made the best of it. I'm glad we were able to see Dry Tortugas and that there were no incidents in our parking and leaving the campground. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a great location - very close to Key West. You could bike to old town Key West and save yourself the parking hassles. It is about 5 miles from Mallory Square. The sites are very tight and those that are right on the water are awesome. The price reflects the location rather than the park itself although this park is just a bit more expensive than the place we stayed about an hour further up the Keys but is much nicer. It has a fun, laid back vibe. Wish we could have gotten in here for more than just one night. It looks a bit intimidating to navigate the roads into your site but they mapped out a route that avoided the tightest turns and we made it to our site just fine, backed in on the first try (no cars were parked across from our site which helped). We noted that most folks in MHs parked their vehicle sideways in front of their MH which made the road very narrow. Could pose a challenge. Unhook your tow at the gate and drive it in to scope out your spot ahead of time. We could see the water from our dining area windows, very nice! Everyone in our area was super friendly and offered to move vehicles if needed when we left. Nice pool and laundry areas. The one downside is no formal dog walk area and not many grassy areas inside the park. You can walk outside the gate and try to find a place to walk your dog along the street, not the best situation. Overall, we like this place and would try to get in here if we came back to the area. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Doable to bike from the resort to old town. Mallory Square area is 5 mi along wide sidewalks. Park your bike and walk around (too many people/cars to ride your bike around old town). Hemingway estate and cemetery were interesting. Cheaper all day parking in the public lot on Greene st 1 blk behind Sloppy Joes -$15 for all day parking. This is a VERY dog friendly town, our pup was welcomed and fawned over in most stores. We found an outdoor patio to dine at where she was welcome as well.

Very nice park 1.5 miles from Key West city limits. Water on edge of resort. Nice store with food, supplies and gift shop. All sites were clean and neat. There are chickens on property. Roosters will crow at 6am. Resort is near Navy Air Base. The noise of the jets taking off is loud. Luckily they didn't fly at night when we were there. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are bus routes that run down the street. We put our bikes on front of bus, rode into town, then rode bikes in Key West. Bus schedules and live location of buses online. 50 cents for seniors to ride bus. We did ride bikes into KW but that was a long trip.

Overall Rating:

Best park if you plan to go to Key West, we went here after cancelling our stay at another park close by Key West because the sites were unacceptable and over priced.

I give this park a score of 10 because when you combine the proximity of actually being in Key West, great prices, big sites, right on the ocean and a good store, then it all adds up to a score of 10. Don't look any further or at any other parks, this is the one that you should pick when you go to Key West. This park has everything, plenty of room on the sites, you are not cramped on the sites and if you get the back row closest to the outside road the sites are much bigger. They also have beachside sites that has a totally awesome view, one that will make you want to stay longer. They have walking paths around the park and they have a dog walking area to stretch your pooches legs.

We recommend Boyd's Key West RV Park very highly. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Boyd's Campground is simply great! We came down for a week in early April and enjoyed every minute of it. In fact, we enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay by an additional day. The only point of disappointment was we had an excellent site for the 6 nights we were there, but we were unable to stay in that site for the additional night that we stayed, but that is to be understood. We moved down two sites and were just fine. We actually appreciated the fact that the office didn't move the next camper coming into our spot as they had requested and paid for it, good job by the front office. As far as the campground goes, sure it is tight in some spots but this is the Keys, and space is a premium, but the maintenance guys will come out and direct traffic and help you get in. We saw several large pushers there get in and out with no incident. The local wildlife we found enjoyable, even the roosters starting early in the morning! Power was clean, water pressure was great and the water at our site had no smell to it, cable TV was plentiful, and the wifi next to the boat ramp at our site was fast and free. We would recommend going either to the point where the tent sites are or over to the beach to watch a sunrise, its unforgettable. We brought bikes and it took us about 25 minutes to ride into downtown or to the Historic Seaport, and we actually left the bikes unlocked at our site overnight. There was no feeling of inadequate security at the campground throughout our stay. I highly recommend this campground if you want to stay near Key West! The sites are very close together, but we were here in April so there were fewer campers, so it was great. The roosters roaming all around with their crowing could drive you crazy, but in Key West they roam Everywhere. Internet was decent. The people were extremely nice. Very close to downtown Key West. Be aware if you have a big truck Key West is extremely difficult to drive around. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great, helpful and friendly staff; they even helped us back in! Dog friendly - family atmosphere and security were great (security on duty at entrance all night). Some great restaurants in walking distance. Sites are a little tight (so it was great to have help backing in), but found that once we had the slide out and parked the truck at the head of our 5th wheel it afforded us a private area. Nice palm trees throughout (this isn't a parking lot). And although we didn't participate in all the activities there were certainly some; card night, pot luck night, camper appreciation night, etc. Bring your bicycles for a nice ride into old Key West. While pricing is high, it is on the lower side for Key West. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

While at the Keys expect to pay. It was snowbird season so it's expensive... but you are really close to Duvall Street where everything is happening... it's tight to navigate a motorhome and a tow dolly thru the interior roads thank goodness for the assistance from the employees... they are great... yes you are close to your neighbors but Real estate is at a premium there on the island... we did have a pull in site not a back in which was great! FHU and great cable but wifi is in & out most of the time. Go to the garden to get access to the internet... that could use some upgrades. If you have a tow dolly they tell you to in hook before going to your site because it's really tight with a car & dolly to get around they the campground. Great time ! If we go back we will stay there! We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Location, Location, Location! Right over the bridge to Key West! Bus service less than 2 blocks away. Cab located right next door. Site 25 - All sites are very tight - totally like the tourist area it is. Site was level, unpaved but with patio and picnic table. Campfires allowed, but sites were so close we wouldn't do it. Bring your own fire ring. It's expensive, but everything about Key West is costly. CG itself has everything you could need, except a bar! Pool is great. boat ramp, fish cleaning station, bikes for rent, excellent laundromat, even an ATM machine! Roads and sites are tight, but accessible for every sized rig. Always full, so make reservations early! Will stay there on next trip to Key West. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Hogfish Bar and Grill, about 2 blocks away, is AWESOME!!!! Silver-colored tourist trolleys in KW give you two days for same price as one. Schooner's Bar (Tavern?) has happy hour from 7AM to Noon!!! Great, fun atmosphere! (Stop 8 on the trolley!!! ) Everything costs in Key West, but you can find some 2 for 1 deals and cheaper food spots if you're willing!

We were in a waterfront space, which wasn't really waterfront. About 2 spaces down was waterfront. No big deal though as we were happy to get a reservation on very short notice. The site was quite sandy with a concrete patio. The area at our front door was a mess of wet sand and silt. But hey, it's Key West. The site was extremely tight to back into for a 40' coach. We made it though and you'll need to be on your game to do it. Even maneuvering through the roadways is a challenge due to all the parked vehicles halfway out into the road. All that being said, we enjoyed our time here. Really friendly people and a very relaxed atmosphere. A very short drive or walk into Key West. One last thing, there is a navy base just to the east on Boca Chica. The jets were flying every day of our stay starting at 8am. It's loud. If you are annoyed by loud jets then look elsewhere. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park and the location is great. Our site was waterfront but almost too short for our RV and tow vehicle, even though we had reminded them of our length. Tried to get them to move us to a larger site that was available but they would not even consider doing that, although specific sites are not reserved. The waterfront sites have great views. The park is laid out very well and great for walking and biking. The pool area is very nice. There is a large pavilion that is great for a large group to get together especially on a rainy day. Big drawback for our location: There were tent sites directly across the street in front of us which makes the area very congested and, at times, loud during the night. Because of the close proximity of the campsites beside of us, we had to ask our neighbor to move their vehicle so we could pull out from our site and we had to move our vehicle another day for the RV beside of us to be able to back in. It is expensive so just be aware it is LOCATION, LOCATION. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

There are a couple of really good restaurants within walking distance....Roostica (great pizza) and Delano's (yummy Cuban sandwiches). You can also catch the city bus into Key West but takes about 45 minutes to get there with all the stops along the way. Across Hwy 1, only 3-4 blocks from campground, there is a great paved walking/bike trail.

Nice park with all facilities. We had a back-in site near the office because we wanted to be close to the gate so we wouldn't be far from the bus stop to go down town Key West. We decided to drive, the trip by car is only 15 minutes and the bus is 45 minutes and we had no trouble finding parking on side streets two blocks from Duval St. Lots of restaurants and sidewalk bars. Stayed 3 nights. The event that week was Ernest Hemingway look alike contest at Sloppy Joe's Restaurant and Bar. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Motorhome.

There's really nothing much between Florida City and Key west except a hundred miles straight road and island hopping until you hit key West.We left on Saturday and the traffic on the other side was bumper to bumper and many people towing boats. You're probably better off going during the week and leaving before or after Sunday because it's a big boating weekend resort area for people living in South Florida.

Boyd's Campground is GREAT!!! The staff is nice, office hours are great (open until 10pm). After office hours, security is on duty overnight. Security staff is also very friendly and helpful.

We went to the pool numerous times. The pool is clean and relaxing. The tiki hut is great as well. The laundry room is clean and security works with you if you need to use it past hours for emergencies or what may be.

We have a 40ft 5th wheel and we consider the sites comfortable and the neighbors were always friendly.

We have our own bathroom so we didn't use their facilities. However, we did see staff constantly cleaning the facilities.

The only con about the campground was our disappointment when we found out that we couldn't bathe in our waterfront spot or anywhere on the ground. This however, is not the fault of Boyd's. It's due to the water in the keys. I will say that our area did have a funky smell due to exactly this, the water. However, it wasn't anything that we couldn't live with.

Closet beach is 2 miles away, Smarhers beach. We camped at Boyd's Key West Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
