This campground is about as close as you can get to Key West- the location is great! After taking taxis for a couple of days we started riding the local bus since the stop is right outside the campground. (Buses are clean, safe, and cost $2) No matter what you've read, this is not a bad area. There are a couple of businesses across the street but it's no big deal. Yes, you can hear the rental yard sometimes and you're not in the middle of a forest, but the purpose of this campground is location. That being said, we spent evenings at the sundeck/small beach area and the tiki huts and enjoyed it tremendously. Some of the spaces are tight for larger vehicles to make the turn to get in to them. The people running this place have been working every day since we got here planting trees, improving sites, helping campers, etc. Everyone here is very friendly. We will make a reservation for next year before we leave. Ride the bus to downtown, it's very easy. Be sure to go to the tiki hut by the water behind the campground. Near it are iguanas in many different colors that are interesting to watch. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Our rate for this park included an extra $8/night for our tow dolly! The location for this park just outside of Key West was great. The park had gravel sites, mostly back-ins with a grassy patio area and a picnic table. The sites are a little tight. No cable TV and over the air reception was poor. We were able to get satellite TV. No pool or spa. Wi-fi is included. Laundry room has only two washers and dryers, which are not enough for the park. The restrooms and showers are excellent, but again not enough for the park. Park backs up to a bayou where you can see a number of iguanas. Located just off the highway into Key West behind a commercial area, so there is some morning noise as people head out to work. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

I stayed here 4 nights in early May. Park personnel very helpful and friendly. The facilities and utilities are kept very neat and clean. On the negative side, I was in site # 12 which was right beside a street that had heavy car and motorcycle all day and night long, very noisy. And my immediate neighbors were up till 3 & 4 in the morning making noise, but Key West is a party town. I would stay here again. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Very small place off US1 behind a rather business-hour noisy rental business. Adequate for our 22.9' Class B, tight for others with big rigs/toads, etc. Bathrooms 'ok' clean, but women's is marginally private; men's shower/bathrooms semi-exposed. Literally have a picnic table for wifi users under roof about 12 feet from one men's stall?! Only 2 dryers/washers, one of which out-service. Wifi zero useful. Sadly, no-see-um insects added to the issues. However, location is great. Tent campers can camp in back, and of course they are near bathrooms as their only source...adding to the crowdedness. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You can bike on the KeyWest Trail which is just across US1 a block away. A fun 4 mile ride on sidewalk/trail, with about 1 mile on bike lane, but near Duval street, where many bikers cycle, so we biked each day in/out...great exercise, no car desired/needed. Try "the Café", a vegetarian restaurant with great food, and delicious carrot cake. Great food, and warm people. It was worth the trip, helping us not mind so much Leo's shortcomings.

Overall Rating:

First off, if you are coming to this park DO NOT turn into the space next the office. Park on the street because you will only have to back out again onto a very narrow road to get to your site.

The place is a vastly overpriced dump. Directly across the street is a truck repair business and what appears to be a junk yard. They like to play music while they work. Very loudly. They park trucks up and down the street making it very tight getting in and out.

The spaces here are all very narrow and all except a couple are very short. Don't accept site 15, it's hard up against the bathhouse and laundry and people walk thru your site day and night.

This is the cheapest park in Key West but the layout is awful, our 36' MH filled the site with no room for the toad.

Terrible overpriced and noisy. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The bus into Key West departs from right outside the park. About the only good thing about the place. You better take the bus because there are very few places to park downtown and you have to pay $2 an hour plus wherever you park.

Very hard campsite to rate. I could give this park anything from a 3 to an 8. First of all the good bits. Location to Key West is fantastic. You will not get closer to Key West at any other campground. Took us 20 mins to cycle in, 15 mins to cycle to the beach. The campground is right next to the bus stop, for $2 each way or $8 a week you can catch the bus into Key West. It takes about 30 mins each way. The worst thing about the campground is noise. The bins are emptied 4 or 5 times a week at 5am in the morning, and the noise is enough to wake the dead. Once awake it is hard to get back to sleep because of the US1 noise and the cockerels. If you are an early riser then this will not be a problem to you. The campground is on Stock Island which can be described as a high price slum area. I have witnessed no problems, but if you like nice surroundings then avoid this place as it is not a pretty area. Restrooms and showers are just about acceptable. Laundry room is good, and lady in the office is friendly enough. Biting insects are prevalent so if you are prone to being bitten then take plenty of precautions. Would I stay here again? No but we visited another park up the road which is $40 more a night and although better, I certainly would not pay $100 to stay there as it is in a poor neighborhood and sites are quite cramped. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

I'd try another place next time on another Key near Key West or splurge for a nicer place. We were there 7/4, it was nearly empty, frankly the place and general neighborhood gave me a bit of the creeps. Perhaps if it hadn't been nearly empty and the few RVs there looked like they were on their last legs and there for the long term. No ambiance and bathrooms were marginal. We noticed a few others who pulled up and left or else stayed one night then left. If you just want a place to camp and don't care about the atmosphere it's okay. It is close to Key West. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a basic campground close to the entrance to Key West. Only about 10 minutes to Duval St. Don't look for ambiance here. Some sites are pretty tight to get in to. Very good Wi-Fi close to the office. Spotty the further away you are. Good cable. Two rows are for campers the rest are for full timers. If you're here to visit KW and don't intend to spend much time in the campground, this is the place. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Lee's is a great park! Nearly all of the sites are pull-throughs, so there's no need to un-hook if you are here for only one night. It's surrounded by very tall trees and has great sylvan views. The laundry is outside on the patio of the office; nice Florida touch! Sites are grass and level enough. We're staying an extra day it's so great. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

I cannot say enough good things about this park. I have a 36' motorhome that is difficult to park. I got in with NO PROBLEM. Not only that, but the owner helped me, and his son got my scooter carrier off for me. Here's the best part: I stayed here during "mini-lobster" season. I was worried about even getting a reservation but they got me in with no problem. Then, on the first day of lobster season the park gave me a lobster! Incredibly friendly people running this park. Great place to spend the whole season. I can't wait to come back and have already told my family and friends about this park. The grounds are immaculate and safe/secure. By the way, this is the CLOSEST campground to Key West, closer than Boyd's and VERY well priced for the area. Also, this park is quiet and there is not constant traffic in and out like Boyd's. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Leo’s is a small campground that lacks many of the amenities of larger full service campgrounds. The positives are: it is clean, has good cable TV, is reasonably priced, and is close to Key West. It’s located between mile markers four and five. Free wireless is located at the office. The roads are blacktop or crushed limestone. I wouldn’t consider the park big rig friendly even though there were many thirty-five foot or longer motor homes and fifth wheels parked when we stayed. The sites are wide enough but are short. It was noisy because of its location near US 1. Leo’s is best described as a rough gem located at Key West’s doorstep. We will stay here again. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Location is the best part of this campground. It is only 4 miles from downtown Key West and bicycling is easy to town. There is only one mens shower and toilet so plan to use the RV facilities. The sites are narrow and getting in and out can be a challenge. We camped at Leo's Campground in a Motorhome.
