We stay here a few times a year, and love this quiet park. Set up to support equine & dog events, therefore lots of open space for horses and dogs. They also support personal events as well (weddings, reunions etc) The park is located a distance off I-75, and the back roads are narrow to the RV entrance. We had no issues with a 40' motor home and tow, just took it slow around corners. You can now reserve on their website, see what is available for the dates and chose your site. When you arrive at park, you can go directly to your site as there is no office or formal check in process. Once settled, they will come by with a check in packet with information. Our site pad was concrete, level, full 50 amp hook up with patio and picnic table. The remainder of the site is asphalt/gravel. Good green space between sites. Easy in and out for big rigs. There is no shade on the sites. They don't have cable, but because our site was open, we had great satellite. Most sites are no shade, open to sky, there are a few back in that are close to trees. They added a pool and spa. As stated above the park is designed for events, therefore no other activities. There is a pool table and TV in the lodge. Grounds are clean! They were working on grounds as we arrived a few weeks after Hurricane Irma. Staff is very friendly and helpful. 2 runs, one each for large and small dogs. Also lots of green area to walk dogs. The laundry room is small, but efficient. There is a museum and cafe on property. The cafe has a full service bar. We ate at the cafe this visit, good food. There is also a fishing pond. If you like quiet, no activities except events, would highly recommend if staying in the area more then a night! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

A great place for weekend getaway. The RV resort area is not too large - but all the lots are big. Most have concrete pads and picnic tables. Many of the lots over look the horse riding and training area which is a really great view. The resort boasts 7 miles of paved walking/bike trails. The only downside is that there is no Wi-Fi or cable TV available at any of the RV sites. For as much as they charge and as nice as this place is - that should a standard amenity. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

Must go to the Bistro to eat - great food and reasonable prices. The nicest thing is that there are horse shows, dog shows, etc nearly every weekend and they are completely free to attend and watch.

Without a doubt one of the nicest RV parks I have even been in. The sites were spacious and level, the views out our windshield were fabulous (horse corrals, woods, arenas, fabulous sunsets) and there are miles of asphalt walking available that will take you through the facility. Large oak trees with Spanish moss or open and sunny will find you walking amongst corrals with horses that are happy to see you. Beautiful pool and small club house. The Bistro was a delight for dinner a few nights and watching the carriage horses being exercised right in front of our motorhome was wonderful. We were lucky enough to be there for 3 of the 4 weekends having shows that were watched from our site! We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

This is camping in the Florida countryside with all the amenities The Villages in Florida has to offer only a few miles away. Anything you might want to do, buy, or eat is within a stone's throw with the advantage of coming home to the quite and serene horse country.

This is an RV area inside a horse resort. Sites are concrete, level, well kept, FHU that work great. Rolling hills with views of competition areas. Resort has restaurant, museum, bar and is beautiful. Even with a competition while we were there, it was quite. About 4 miles from The Villages and everything you could need or want. Definitely will stay here again. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

With tax we ended up at $50/night. Be sure to navigate to the Griffin Avenue entrance. The back roads are narrow and curvy but do-able. Once inside, it wasn't abundantly clear where to stop, check-in and unhook our toad. There is a sign that says to call so we did. A friendly lady answered our call and quickly appeared in a golf cart to escort us to our site. Our site was a back in which gave us a wonderful view of the grounds through our big windshield. We enjoyed seeing horses with carriages going by from time to time. The office recd packages for us and delivered them to our site.

Now for the not-so-good. As beautiful as the grounds are, the design of the RV area is a little quirky. Our back-in site was grass for parking the motorhome (not great when putting down jacks) while the front part of the site was gravel for the tow car. We had a poured concrete patio with a picnic table. We found ourselves wondering why didn't they put more gravel or pour more concrete for the motorhome. It was kind of odd. The other odd thing is the sprinklers. With all that lovely green grass, you know they have to water it. Their sprinkler system is industrial strength and runs every night - specifically 3:47am for 30 minutes. Did I mention it runs every night? The sprinklers spray highly pressurized water at anything and everything. We could hear the water hit our motorhome starting at the back and then working it's way forward along the side. The first night we jumped out of bed to be sure all of our windows were tightly closed. After the second 3:47am awakening, we called the office to see what could be done. They dropped off half-circle pieces of plastic to stick in the grass near the sprinkler heads. They told us to find the sprinkler heads ourselves and did not offer to help. The last quirk was that the park had a significant drop in water pressure for about six hours one morning. Bottom line - we wanted to try something different. We're glad we did but don't think we'd return. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here multiple times. Beautiful RV park, set up to support equine events, therefore lots of open space for horses and events. Also now have dog events. Our site was a concrete pull thru site with patio and picnic table. Our site was level with easy in and out for big rigs. Most sites don't have shade, however sites 1 - 12 at entrance of park have some shade and are back ins. Grounds are clean! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good size dog park back by site 45, two areas one for small, one large, just needs a bench for us dog owners. There is also lots of green area to walk dogs. The laundry room is small, but efficient. There is a museum and cafe on property but haven't visited. There is no pool or playground, however the lodge has a pool table. There is also a fishing pond. No highway noise since the park is located a distance off I-75, and the back roads are narrow to the RV entrance. We had no issues with a 40' motor home and tow, just took it slow around corners. Would highly recommend if staying in the area more then a night! We stay here a few times a year when coming in and out of Florida. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

This is not a "normal" campground, you rent a side on a huge horse ranch, where mostly nothing is walkable.

You can rent rent a golf cart but only for a whole week ($150) not per day, if you didn't have a towable, scooter or golf cart behind your motorhome you may have a problem to reach the showers or restrooms without having a wet shirt wen you arrive.

The view at of work window is very nice (especially because we were alone on the whole campground).

The wifi doesn't work so we have to use our smart phone as a hotspot, AT&T provides us 3 bars LTE.

They have a huge fenced dog park, separate for small and bigger dogs, the sides are pretty level, long enough for each kind of motorhome and towable and very spacious to each side.

They didn't provide cable TV on the sides but we received 24 HD channels over antenna. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice resort for the folks seeking quiet and relaxation. It is equestrian based, spread out, and not for small children as there are no playgrounds, pool, or activities. Quite a distance from I-75 - about 25 miles. Rate is with GS discount and off season. Lovely fenced area for your dog to run some steam off. Open sites...not much shade, but trees planted for future. Cement pad, easy to level, cement patio with table. Sprinklers come on during night and may soak anything left outside your camper. Has a lovely horse carriage museum with lots of history as well as a nice 'bistro" for a drink or a bite on property. No cable, but open for satellite and several off air stations. Not far from The Villages so lots of stores and restaurants. Good 50 amp and water pressure. Wi-Fi was fair...might be a challenge if lots of campers. Equestrian events are free to watch if you are staying here. Fifth time here to just unwind and catch our breath. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

The Villages has just about everything you can imagine...restaurants, shops, golf, groceries, gas, hardware, etc. Grand Oaks RV Resort has not only the Carriage Museum (plan on several hours to tour it) but also, fishing, carriage rides, and lessons. Or just sit by one of the ponds and read a book in the shade.

$36 per night (was the monthly rate, we stayed from mid-November until the beginning of April, usual nightly rate was $50-$65 depending on the site, they do have weekly and monthly rates and they do offer Good Sam and FMCA discounts on nightly rates) was for a level grass back-in site with full hookups. The site also had an asphalt/gravel parking area for our tow car and a concrete pad with a wooden picnic table. Our site, #28, was completely in the open, which was fine during our overwinter stay. The pull-through and some back-in sites were all concrete pads with a grassy strip between the sites. The facility is well maintained and very attractive. It's a 400-acre horse farm that had decided to add RV sites to encourage visitation. All employees we encountered were wonderful!. It was usually a very quiet campground during our stay. They do have equestrian events (free to attend) on many weekends where the campground fills up but it was never overly noisy. There are many amenities available, which you can find listed on their website. There is a carriage museum on site, which has many carriages from many different periods. The park is located near The Villages, which has every imaginable convenience or activity available within a short driving distance. The included Wi-Fi worked well. AT&T and Verizon service was great. We received 34 digital over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

We stayed here a week while visiting friends who live in The Villages. The resort is part of a horse area and grounds, with 45 sites on one end. One MUST use the Griffin Ave. entrance to get big rigs to the RV area. Sites are paved and very spacious. Grounds are beautiful. The clubhouse (showers, laundry, TV) was nice. We would love to see cable TV added as channel choices were very limited in scope. The carriage museum on the grounds is very interesting! Very handy to The Villages main access roads. Sites are self check-in - find your site number and then info will be delivered to you. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.

We stayed one night while visiting friends in the area. As other reviewers have noted, this park is set up for equine events and open to others when nothing is on the schedule. There are pull-through and back-in sites, paved and unpaved, and all with full hookups. Roads are narrow into and out of park so use caution. We did not see a bathhouse, so we assume you'd have to be fully self-contained to stay here. There's no office and may not be anyone to meet you (they were short handed the day we arrived so no one was around). Have your site number with you and park yourself as needed. Someone will come by with your information package. We camped at Grand Oaks Resort & Museum in a Motorhome.
