On calling for reservations, I was advised that their cable TV was "temporarily down", but since I wasn't going to be there for a week it didn't concern me. Upon arrival, I was advised that it was actually not "temporarily down" but was not working due to a contract dispute between park management and the company, and had been down for some time. Upon trying to sign on to the internet, I found that the park had n0 free WiFi service, but I had to pay $12 per week to an outside contractor. First RV park I've ever stayed in without free WiFi. No on-site restaurant, no on-site supply store or golf cart rental. Site didn't have a concrete pad, although I hadn't realized they didn't have them and didn't request one, so not their fault, but it was sloped to the point where I had difficulty leveling my rig. Check-in staff was friendly and helpful, although apologetic about lack of cable and WiFi and the fact that I was not properly informed about it over the phone. All in all not a disaster, but I would not recommend this park to anyone who hasn't been here before. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We had camped here for 11 years at first for a couple weeks but have camped for 5 months the last 5 years. It seems they care more about the 6 & 6 people than the campers. There is sand on most sites, only 10 concrete pads. We are going to move to another campground next year for 5 months. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We were given a site with sewer hookup buried in sand which WE had to dig out. The night manager was down with shoulder surgery with no one to cover for him. Our lot was on a hill with sewage hookup so far away at the upper end we had to find a store to purchase more septic hose. Since we arrived late on a Friday afternoon, we were on our own. Cable was NOT provided as advertised. As we left the check-in office at 3:45, the office ladies said "Oh, by the way, you'll have to contact Comcast and arrange for your own cable." No internet, no cable, digging out our own sewage connection buried in sand. The laid up night manager explained that "it's too bad you got that site, but I can't help you, I just had surgery ...... You'll have to wait until Monday. We have an old TV set. Comcast - total runaround which was because this park couldn't negotiate the contract so left all residents & transients to fend for themselves. Luckily the resident living next to our lot left the key in his golf cart!! No one was home until late evening. If we hadn't been able to move that cart and 3 old picnic tables off the lot, we could not have parked at all! We stayed here last year for the month of January. Loved it. This year, disaster. We are hunting for alternative RV parks for next winter. We are DONE here. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice older park with clean facilities and a large recreation center. My one and only complaint is short stay RVers park on dirt with no patio. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This was our first time staying, so the free day reduced our weekly rate to $222.45. Normal rate would be closer to $37 a day. You can never be bored here! They have eight pickleball courts divided into four for intermediate and four for advanced. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but it looked lovely. Tons to do in the area as it's next to The Villages. You do need to pay for the Wifi separately, but at least it was available. They provide cable hookups which we skipped since we have a tailgater and had a nice open clear sky. Many of the sites in the park are shaded.

Lot spacing was spacious with sunny/open exposure. Site surface was grass and featured a picnic table. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We needed to have our AC repaired and had it serviced by Douglas Dick (352-391-0001). He came out quickly, did the repair at an affordable rate, very nice to have this done so easily.

Grass. Sand sites. Could have more concrete sites. Many ants in sand. Water hook up, PVC poorly maintained sewer hookup hard since in a cement Hole. Adequate room between sites But tons of oak trees and limbs fall in storms.
Office hours short, mail room run by Grumpy Ole Man. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Big rig friendly with level sites and easy access to I10. Cable was good. Showers were good. Laundry room had water leak but convenient laundromat nearby. Swimming pool and hot tub was nice and good place to talk to people. Great book exchange. The activities had not started yet. There was no dog park but field available to walk dog. Most of the campground was seasonal park models but good sites were available. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

We've stayed here several times before and can say that this is very nearly the perfect park if you are are looking to stay for several days. Short-timers will not be able to appreciate what it offers. It caters to the older RV set. The park has nearly 900 large sites with full hookups, two clubhouses with many of the usual indoor and outdoor amenities, including a beautiful heated pool, and 8 new pickleball courts. Privately owned park models make up about 70% of the spaces. Most short-term spaces are grass (some concrete) and nicely shaded. There are no pull-throughs but backing in is obstruction free. The staff could not be more congenial or helpful. The overall attitude is very laid-back. Wi-Fi is available, but for a fee with an outside company. Comcast newly upgraded the cable system and can also supply Internet. Roads are wide and paved, and the grounds are immaculately maintained. We're considering buying a park model for a permanent winter stay. (Rate is $800/mo.) We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the park for two nights. The park is mostly park models and RVs in long-term sites. Overnight sites are grouped together in a nice, shady area - very clean and quiet. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

The park was running a special for first-time guests: book 2+ nights and get the first night for free. That brought our average cost to $25/night. Be sure to ask about this when you make your reservation.

The park is clean and residents are friendly. Most are snowbirds. There is a lot of campground traffic near the short stay sites, making dog walking a bit of a challenge. These sites have concrete pads and have a large grassy area behind the rigs. There is no enclosed dog park but there are two large, grassy areas near retention ponds that offer plenty of space for on-leash walking. The park has many activities. ATT reception was good. Cable TV is included, but a box may be needed (provided by park). Wifi is provided by a different company at a fee. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Easy access to The Villages and numerous shops. US 27 and 466 can be congested, so plan extra time. If you haven't been to the Villages, it is well worth the time to take a tour and take advantage of nightly entertainment.

This is mostly a full time resident park but it does have spaces for short term RVers. The office staff and residents were very friendly and made us feel at home. We only stayed one night and probably won't return because we prefer parks with more RVs instead of park models. Our site had an uneven concrete pad, but we were able to level the rig with no problems. WiFi was not working when we were here. There are a lot of activities and we would feel very comfortable participating if we stayed longer. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This is a large park in the perfect location for visiting The Villages. It is mostly park models though, but the residents are friendly. The pool areas and amenities are in great shape. The restrooms and showers were always clean. The electric is included in my monthly price of $760. The Wi-Fi cost $25.00 a month extra. None of the rental sites have concrete pads, which is unusual for an RV Park in this price range. We camped under the trees and the mess from them and the squirrels made us choose a tree free site next visit. We plan to return next winter. Excellent park. Had a really wonderful time here. Friendly people, lots to do, very clean, very well kept. Easy access to the entertainment and restaurants around the villages. The night manager was very helpful and patient with us when we needed something. This is a 55 and over park with a lot of park models, so is not really family friendly, but as we are retirement age it was perfect for us. If my site had a little more grass and a little less sand, I would have given this place a 10. We are contemplating buying a park model here. We were here as part of a Rally and the daily rate was reduced to $28. Many reviews are correct in that most of the park is homes. We had a shaded, grassy site (#13) along the perimeter. Road noise was there but not a problem. Cable was suppose to be included but there is a park-wide issue. Wi-Fi was extra but Verizon voice and data was excellent. Nice facilities and friendly people. Close to all possible retail needs. We would stay again at the reduced rate, never at the published rate. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We camped here for a month so the rate is reflective of the monthly rate not really a daily. Good level grass/sand site backed up against a fence of some apartments. Not really an issue very quite. Park does warn they do not spray for pests and if you have pets read that as you need to treat for fleas prior to arrival. We learned the hard way, lots of fleas. Cable TV worked great, close to shops, grocery and The Villages which made it nice for visiting friends that live there. Not family friendly only because it is a 55 plus park, you can't camp here with kids. Very pet friendly with good areas to walk dogs. Yes a lot of seasonal, however very clean and good restrictions that keep entire park looking great. A lot of activities and a nice pool area if that is what you are looking for. We would camp here again. We camped at Recreation Plantation RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
