A little on the expensive side but it is Disney after all. This place is beyond a 10. I could stay there for a long time if I could afford to. I'd say one of the best if not the best RV park we ever stayed at. Only wish I lived closer because I'd go more often. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

We really like this park and come at least once a year.
Sites are back ins - most are easy to maneuver into. Price is actually very reasonable compared to other parks in the area. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

What can I say about this campground. We are back again. We have been here several times and it keeps on getting better. This time was our first time during Halloween time. Some of the decorations that some other campers displayed were incredible. Just a joy driving around the campground. In addition, the weekend before Halloween a group of fire fighters rent out a whole loop and do a haunted loop. Very well organized. Highly recommend at this time to go to this campground. It was great.

I was on site 1330 this trip around and it was very pleasant. Water, electric, and sewer worked well. No issues. Surrounded by nice campers all around. Staff was very helpful. Lots of activities can be done at the park as well. Fire works by the beach area, carriage rides, movies under the stars, fire pit lighting, so many things to do. We love this campground. Big park. Golf cart a must to get around at your leisure but the park does offer bus transportation. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Can't say enough about this campground. We camp there several times a year and always enjoy it. No need to hit the parks, although the bus and boat transportation makes that very convenient. There is enough to see and do at Fort Wilderness to make a stay just there very worthwhile. I do wish they would better enforce the golf cart rules, since there are many cases of underage drivers driving recklessly, often in wrong directions around loops. One of these days, someone will get hit. Other than that though, Fort Wilderness is a beautiful campground with plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy a Disney experience outside of the theme parks. Can't beat the breakfast at Trails End either. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Other than the theme parks, Fort Wilderness offers its own activities such as fishing, hiking (some nice trails), horseback riding, archery, campfires at night along with an outdoor movie, two nice swimming pools, and more. The trail between Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge is a very nice walk. In addition, at night the Magic Kingdom fireworks and Electrical Water Pageant can be viewed from the beach.

This is our fourth time to stay here. We love the campground. Lots of things to do besides the parks. Canoeing, horseback riding, swimming, afternoon and evening activities. Previously, we have stayed in loop 100 and 200, close to the boats. This time we were in loop 1200, had to walk, drive our car or reply on interior buses. Our site, 1221, was huge and backed to the comfort station and our daughter and her husband appreciated the convenience. We were able to easily park both cars and the RV. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

It's Disney, so we knew going in that it wasn't going to be cheap. That said, the part is extremely clean and well maintained. If you have a bigger trailer or motorhome, it can be tricky to get into your spot due to the large trees, and narrow roads. We arrive at 10:00 AM got an early check in and set up before most of the sites filled up.

It is nice to be on the transportation system (boat and buses) so in my mind, that is what you are really paying for. Bath houses are super clean, and we enjoyed our weeklong stay. We will stay again! We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a golf cart, bring it. It is an extremely large park and it will help you get around in the park. They do rent golf carts, ($65 a day) or you can contact one of the many rental companies around Orlando and arrange to pick one up from them at around half the cost. (They cannot deliver them to FWC due to restrictions)

Huge concrete pad, grill, extra water hose. Great campground but you pay for it. Very large and clean, but if I could say one thing that could be improved was the lighting. Many of the lights didn't work. But this place is the real deal. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our second time to experience Fort Wilderness and we absolutely loved it. Check-in is efficient and the staff is top-notch. There is a bus system within the park that makes it easy to visit the shops, pools, playgrounds, restaurants, and other amenities within this large park. Likewise, transportation is provided from Fort Wilderness to other Disney locations. Each loop has a comfort station with showers and laundry. The washers and dryers now accept credit cards only--no cash. There are trash cans and recycling bins on each loop as well. The premium site was large and level with a picnic table. Free and paid activities within the resort include outdoor movies, crafts, pin trading, Segway tours, horseback riding, boating, and dinner shows. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Forget your anxiety and bring your RV to Fort Wilderness! Tolls coming south into Orlando were only $9.75 for my 4 axle rig. The park itself is very easy to navigate. I read the reviews and knew the premium sites would be right for us. We paid a little more but the space was worth it. Our large 60' concrete back-in was easily wide enough for the RV and picnic table plus two large vehicles. If you get the slightly cheaper standard sites, you'll have a sandy area for a tent too. For large rigs, premium is the way to go. We had no issues other than a 2 hour power outage during a storm. Disney washes each pad between campers and maintains the area extremely well. There's a $5 upcharge for pets. We were in loop 800 and loved it. Free Wi-Fi is available too if you put a deposit down for their cable modem. Both AT&T and Verizon had strong signals. Satellite TV is unlikely but Disney has adequate cable TV too. One caveat -- the mugs you buy to get drinks for your entire visit only work in Fort Wilderness, not in the parks. That wasn't clear before we laid down $16+ each for 5 mugs. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This was defiantly not our first time using Fort Wilderness for our vacation. We usually stay here because it is much cheaper than staying at the hotels. We were in one of the premium loops and the campground was as good as it usually is. Considering that it's Disney it should come as no surprise that it was very clean and the staff were amazing. Overall I would completely recommend this campground to anyone planning to stay at or visit Disney World. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Only advice would be to bring bicycles to commute to shower-house and pool. Overall, nicest campground we have camped at, as it should be for the price. You can't complain about the price because a room in a Disney resort would be two to three times as expensive with the same amenities. Only one complaint about service, the guard didn't believe our Roadtrek was a RV and would let us pull through the in-lane check-in. I didn't feel like educating him, maybe next visit. We had not visited Disneyworld for over 30 years. I made the reservations via phone with Disney. Had no idea as to site except being on "pet" circle, which cost $15 extra per night. Our site 1918, assigned at check-in, was quite a walk to the internal bus, then a ride to the Outpost to catch another bus to theme parks. Forty minutes each way to any theme park, so returning to the rv for dog walk or lunch is not feasible. Our three day park pass was only 2 1/2 days since check-in is 1 pm. Riding in a van, the driver said the best time to visit is 2nd half of January and all of February. Sites are small and utilities are adequate.

There is some separation between sites, but some are too small for big rig and tow vehicles. This park is too expensive unless all amenities are to be utilized. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Disney World really wants you to spend all your money on site. The show and dinner combination at Hoopeedo is $80 per adult. The only good value is lunch at a theme park. It is necessary to figure out the fast pass to avoid waiting in line for an hour at most newer venues. Everything is clean and everyone is friendly, but some more education is needed to enjoy the experience to the fullest.

This is only our second time here (previous trip 2008) and the kids enjoyed it. Our campsite was amazing (#541) and close to Pioneer Hall and water transport. We were only here for a weekend and there are so many things to do around the camp, we ran out of time. Visited the Tri-Circle D ranch near Pioneer hall to see where they keep the horses used at Magic Kingdom. We took a day trip, via water and bus transport to Downtown Disney. Glad we did with all the construction. Had dinner at the Hoop-Dee-Doo review - Kids and I loved it. Only downfall is no clear site selection unless you call ahead to check in and give specific needs - Dog, Awning, slides, etc. Some of the older rustic equipment is gone - Mouse Ear lamp posts. We will go back but for a longer stay in the future. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.
