So, I am not a real Disney fan, but my grandaughters are. We tried FW a year ago by renting a cabin for the night. I loved it. We had a pool all to ourselves and the Disney stress just melted away. This year I dragged the TT to FW for a week in the campgrounds. This has to be the most perfect campground in the country. There was never a stick out of place, a loud neighbor or a messy bathroom. Trash receptacles in our loop (900) were between sites and it seemed that every time I used it, it was empty, yet I never saw anyone empty it. We needed an early check-in to pick up one of the girls at the airport. They could not have been more accomodating. Still not a real Disney fan, but I'd pay $100 to stay here even if it wasn't connected to Disney. While I heard that sites were small and challenging to settle into, we didn't find that to be the case. With the curves in the loops, you couldn't see more than 2-3 trailers at a time. Site was a bit of a challenge on its angle, but I haven't been towing/ backing up for too long, so that's probably on me. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

What else is there to say it is Disney. You are not going to be able to stay on a Disney resort for a better price. The pools are amazing and the food is better. Do yourself a favor and rent a golf cart the best thing to do in spare time is loop all the sites to check out the campground. Easy to drive cart to diner, bus or boat to any Disney park. I have stayed in 1100 loop and 1200 loop which are premium sites and loved them both. Make sure you check out all the campground has to offer. We always save 2 days just for time at the campground and no parks. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is hands down one of my top 3 RV parks ever. It camping Disney style. My only complaint is that the table we had in the patio area has seen better days, its time to replace it and as others have noted its expensive. We will definitely be back. The park was clean and the service was good. Restrooms were clean and maintained, except near the marina. The only downside was that the park has no dump station, so we had to find a fuel stop on the way home to dump our tanks. For the price paid I would expect them to be available. Make sure to get a full service site when you check in or you'll leave with full tanks. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We had a full services site. Cement pad. Place was spotless. Used the disney transit buses to go to the parks (no charge) why pay $23 parking and drive? pick up points a very convenient. Recycling/waste containers are close. We went with onsite meal plan that's available. There is security in the park and it is patrolled. No complaints. Stayed 01/03/18 - 01/09/18 in 2000 loop. Sites have some shade, an asphalt back-in with sandy picnic or tent area. Showers in the 2000 loop area close to our site, #2068, had iffy to no hot water. We reported this but noticed no improvement. This was extremely frustrating due to premium prices paid for camping and expectations that Disney perfection raises. We were able to walk to a more distant bath house for hot showers. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Its Disney! The Campground is GREAT! but it is at a Disney Price! The campsites are beutiful, paved, clean, with great ammenities. Trying to back in is very tight. The Campground is also very full to being sold out. You do need to either bring or rent a golf cart while staying at Fort Wilderness of you want to get around. You can NOT use your car to get around the campground. There is only golf cart parking. You have to either keep your car at your site or in the overflow parking then use the bus system or a golf cart. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I live about 45 minutes from Fort wilderness so we camp there quite often for weekend trips. The campground was built in the 1970's so many of the sites will be tight for a large motor coach or fifth wheel. Only problems I have are the campfire restrictions and it's quite expensive. Other than that, we always have a great time camping at the Fort. We hardly ever visit the parks and just enjoy the campground and amenities. Dogs are allowed on the buses now but must be in a crate. Plenty of wildlife and don't be surprised if a group of wild turkeys stroll through your site. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Disney's Fort Wilderness is exactly what you would expect from Disney. The campground is pretty, spit-shine clean, and safe. The amenities and activities are excellent, particularly for families with children. Conversely, it's pretty expensive -- especially if you also go to the theme parks! -- and "Disney-fied", which is to say all very carefully plotted out in a conference room somewhere in Lake Buena Vista. That's not necessarily a bad thing, so long as it's in line with your expectations. For us, we had a great time during our visit. We did go to Magic Kingdom one night for the Christmas event, but for the most part we stayed at the campground to enjoy the facilities there. There is quite a bit to do; some of it at a substantial additional cost. One could use the Fort solely as a launching pad to focus on the theme parks, but even as a nearly-standalone family-friendly resort park, it stands out as quite a good one. I ding them a point because the restrictions on campfires at the sites are rather strict, and that's a pretty fundamental part of camping for me, but it's certainly not enough to keep me from planning a return visit. I'm sure we'll have many more to come. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park, large camping spots, and nice natural landscaping makes you feel like the next camper isn't on top of you. We had a Premium campsite. The Campground is gigantic. Almost too big for just bicycles, especially if you have little ones. The boat over to one of the parks was great. The lines for buses to the other parks can be long, but they come constantly so you usually don't have to wait long, even if the first bus you see is full. Everything was clean. Staff was very friendly. If you have the means to bring or rent a golf cart, it would be recommended so you could explore more of the park. I had little ones with me so we didn't even get the bikes out of the truck during our stay and didn't adventure too much really. The pool was nice, lots of seating, and the kids had a blast. If you have the means to camp here instead of a resort, I suggest it. It is much cheaper and gives a great experience to try at least once. Very clean, well kept park. If you are going to spend all your time going to Disney -- or if you have small (pre-tween) children that will spend their days at the pool swimming and doing other activities -- then it may be worth it. Purely as a campground, it's very clean but not particularly great in any way. More expensive sites have more paved area. Less expensive sites have fine gravel to deal with. All have good hookups, reasonable space, and close access to amenities. If you're just using this park as a base camp for accessing all of Orlando, look elsewhere. It's really designed for Disney-goers--or folks who want to pay hundreds of dollars for dining and entertainment on site. (E.g., dinner show was $300 for four people. Horseback riding, $200 for four people. Archery, $190 for four people.) On site dining services are easy (and priced accordingly), but the food is kid stuff: pizza, burgers, etc. and nothing more. Most people tool around in golf carts, though nothing is so far that you need to do that. Need a cart? Better reserve in advance...and, guess what, they are $65/day. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots on site for small kids. For bigger kids and adults, expect to pay a lot to be entertained. Disney is not great at service--they have just learned that when you pay through the nose, you'll be willing to stand on line for a while or wait on hold forever. If you need to make reservations etc. try to do it in person; phone calls were aggravating.

Overall Rating:

First off, we drove down from Wisconsin and arrived a day early. We called them to see if we could get in a day early. The lady on the phone was awesome and got us in a day early. I question the price as it seemed like we paid way too much for an extra night's stay that didn't even include a ticket to the park. We did arrive after dark and check-in went smooth. They do have security at the gate that checks IDs so that does keep unwanted guests out or at least you would hope it does. When we drove around our loop it looked so festive and welcoming. Backing into the site was a little bit of a challenge in the dark. It was further complicated because the area to back in is tight and that was even worse when the person across from us has his vehicle parked partially in the road. I did manage to get backed in after a couple of tries. The next day I did notice someone in the loop trying to back in, they got so frustrated that they just drove off. Just be aware that backing in can be a challenge and tight at some of the sites. The site itself was level and had a paved pad. Behind the pad was a sand, crushed shell area that we used to grill in (propane grills only since you could not have a fire due to drought). We had great shade at the site and all the hookups worked great. The pool was nice. It had a small water slide. The water level for the entire pool was less than 4 ft so very kid friendly. The bus system was great. They run past our stop every 20 min or less. On the first morning we were not sure exactly what we were doing but the driver gave us great advice that helped us get to Magic Kingdom. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Expensive? Yes, but worth it! Campsites are clean and constantly maintained, after a camper leaves a cleaning crew comes in. They pick up any debris, rake, hose down the site. I never saw a trashy site. Comfort station is also clean, showers roomy and are very tidy. Loved all the amenities, but the pool is more geared toward younger kids. Camp stores have basic camping supplies and groceries. We rented a golf cart and it was worth every $, not only did it make getting around very convenient but the kids LOVED sitting in it, even when we weren't using it. The restaurants/quick service is all good and we can't wait to go back. A must for any camping/Disney loving family. We camped at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Yep! $175/night, but it was very nice. I was fishing from my site. Ice is available at every bathroom. The bathrooms are within a few hundred feet of every site. Trash and recycle are within a few feet of every site. Everything is spotless. There is a Disney employee hosing down the site before you arrive. A note on the price, $175 was actually $10 more than the All-Star resort with a resident discount. Our stay was over spring break and if you want to be at Fort Wilderness over spring break I guess you will have to pay for it. There are only back in sites at Disney World.
