This was a convenient place for us to stop. First you pass through Lamont from the south and are closer to Capps. I called ahead and was told there was room. Upon entry, the sign says "pick a site" and leave money in drop box at front door, or fill out envelope with credit card number. I tried all three doors to the building around 3:30 and all doors were locked up tight, including office and restrooms. After selecting one of the few unoccupied level sites, I called the phone again and was notified that the office was only open from 9am to 2pm. Drives were gravel and had adequate full hookups. Do not plan on using any campground amenities, since doors are locked. We would not return to this campground We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

We pulled in and tried to get a level site..... Not happening. There are also massive and numerous potholes in the "driveway". Avoid this place. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.Undo

This campground is conveniently located off I-20. It is a great overnight stop over, which is what it is mostly used for. We had to stay for an extended period due to truck problems. Due to the problems we were having the the amount of time we needed to stay there, the owner was very accommodating and gave us a discounted rate. Difficult to get into with large rig. As we got into the campground realized that there was no way to level the rig, large slope. Decided to leave (no one in the office and another tenant blocked our rig. Only level sites where around the parameter which were small back ins occupied by long term tenants. Seriously, as we decided not to attempt to get into a site, attempted to determine the best way out and could not tell which was a road and which were sites! Very tight. I believe this is a newer park and perhaps just getting started. The sites are not very level. In fact we had a difficult time leveling our 38' RV for the first time. The park manager who I spoke to on the phone was very friendly and told us to take the spot we liked when we arrived. I checked in via paper outside the front door as there was nobody in the office. This is not a destination park and there are no playgrounds for children. There are three fenced pet runs which, along with the location, is one of the reasons we choose this park. There are a couple of gas stations and some fast food nearby but no grocery stores that I could locate. The park is a diamond in the rough but really needs some work.
