We were looking for an overnight stay on our way to the Panhandle off the I-10 West and this park was ideally located. The reviews were reasonable, so we made an online reservation. The online reservation website was easy to navigate and we received a email confirmation. We've never stayed at a self-check in park before, but as we were prepaid, the owner had placed a cone on the site we reserved so it was ready upon our arrival even though he was not there. Our pull-thru site was adequate in length for our 40' motorhome & tow vehicle, so we didn't have to disconnect. Like others have mentioned, the site wasn't level but we managed and it was only for the night so it was okay. Not knowing what to expect, we were surprised at how nice this little park was and we would definitely use it again in the future for an overnighter. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park for an overnight stay. Office is very friendly. The site we stayed in was not level and it took us a bit to get setup. Gas station close by which was very convenient and right off the interstate. Minimal noise from the interstate. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a cute little park and will be very nice once it realizes its full potential. The interior roads are black gravel and well maintained. They use self check-in which was very convenient and easy. The back-in sites are a bit awkward but manageable. I am a solo traveler and the owner was there and nicely volunteered to spot me backing in - much appreciated. The RV across from my site 10 had to move his car to allow me room to back in. The rough-around-the-edges part is they need to get serious with the mower and weed whacker. The campground was unkempt looking - although you can see that the owners care. Road noise is about what you expect so close to the interstate. I would stop again if traveling through but only with a pull-through. At 42' I needed a bit more maneuvering space than the back-ins have. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

Used this park as an overnight stop. Close to the highway but it was quiet. Had reserved online, $3.50, to insure a spot. They also will take a check if you come after the office has closed. Had reserved #18 but could not get the motorhome level. The sign said we could park in any spot not marked with a cone so we moved to #17 which was fine. Our site had good access for the satellite. Spoke with the pleasant manager the next morning and looked around the club house which had a pool table. A no-frills park but just right for overnight stays. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stopped here overnight on our way to Orlando from the panhandle. We were very pleasantly surprised. Payment is on the honor system after 3pm and that worked out just fine for us - just drop your payment into a box after you park. There were plenty of open spots. We had no trouble parking our 37' travel trailer. It wasn't perfectly level, but worked just fine or overnight. The dog runs are small, but such a nice amenity as we travel with 3 dogs. Full h/u makes this a perfect overnight spot. Our AT&T wireless internet got great signal as did our HD antenna for tv. The park wi-fi we connected to was really slow, so we opted to just use our hotspot. Gas stations are walking distance, so hubs was able to walk over and get us some ice cream. Bonus! Park is really clean and well-kept and we felt very safe. There is plenty of light if you arrive after dark to set up. There is a lot of road noise from the nearby interstate, so be aware that if you need perfect silence to sleep, this isn't the place for you. We didn't mind it at all as we like white noise when we're sleeping. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was our 4th stay at this park. We pass through the area once or twice a year and this is a very convenient location for an overnight stay. Prior to this stay, we were here in April of 2016. Whoever owns the park is spending some money on improvements. Last year, they added new plan trees and they are still at it. It also looks like the park will double in size because they are working on the adjacent lot. As others have stated, the sites are not level. For the 2nd time, we were in site 19 and we were able to level reasonably well dumping air from our air ride system. For $28 per night, we see no room for any complaints. This is a great place for a couple of nights and we will certainly return here when we pass through, again. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

Looks like a newer park. Very nice grounds, but most of the sites are not level front to back. Not a big issue as we were just driving through, and the location is great. Would stop here again if needed a good night's stop. Office closes at 3 and opens at 8 or 9, so acts almost like a self service park. Lots of people arrive just before dusk. We came, tried space 16 could not level, then tried space 20 again could not level. We are 42 ft plus tow. Very steep front slope on #16 and same on # 20 plus problems side to side on 20. If your coach is self leveling, this probably is not a good spot to stop. The campground looks nice and appears to work if under 40 ft quite well with drop down levelers. Would be a great overnight stop. Sites were 1/4 minus rock that is not real firm on edges. Couple of low trees that could use pruning. We gave up and left after trying twice. Clean, small park if 20 sites just off the interstate. About half are pull thrus. The interstate noise didn't bother us but seriously, you will know that I-10 is in your back yard. Lanes are a little narrow and our site wasn't level (just a slight slope in the back) but no problems leveling. All sites have 50 amp and full hookups. Most sites are open to the sky. Very nice dog parks. We arrived when someone was in the office but they leave at 3pm so it's basically a self-service park. There are signs everywhere about choosing a vacant spot and depositing payment in the drop box. They office opens at 9am. Bathrooms are clean and laundry is small. Park looks relatively new with nice landscaping, trimmed grass and fresh black gravel on the roads. The grass was getting cut when we arrived. So glad to have found this place conveniently off the interstate since we travel this route all the time. We will definitely return. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very small park, maybe 20 sites, but well kept up. Sits right next to interstate so there is some noise but not disturbing. Not Big Rig Friendly, limited Wi-fi that kept resetting. Sites are fairly level but are a tight fit. Full hook ups. Good pet yards with separations for large and small dogs. No cable but TV reception was good. Well lighted at night. No playground or pool. Cash or credit with a fee. Very friendly owner. Recommend overnight stop only. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

A great park for a one night spot!!! Some sites are on a slight slope (not very bad) and since we didn't unhitched we had NO problem...didn't need to level! There were some really big rigs that came in and they seemed to have no problem. The full hook-ups seemed new and worked very well. We stayed in a 33' Fifthwheel. Would come back. Nice and clean park! We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The location of this RV park is very convenient from I-10. I really appreciated the spacious pull through sites. The landscaping and grounds were very well maintained. It is a nice place to relax without a super packed park. I cannot wait to return! We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice overnight stay just off of I-10. Good water, good electric, beautifully landscaped not as level as we would like it but fine for overnight. After finding out that the rest area we had planned to spend the night at was closed due to renovations, we were looking for an alternative. We were going to go down Rt. 19 off of I-10 at Exit 225 and here you have 2 options. One is a campground which is usually OK and then there is "A Stone's Throw". We have passed by here in the past but ignored this place. It was quite late already and all we wanted was a place to sleep. When we got off of I-10 we were greeted by a red "open" sign across the highway and decided to go for it. As described in other reviews, this is a small campground and the sites are not very level and we found all doors closed. A sign states to just select an open site and to leave the payment inside an envelope at the office door (envelopes provided). The 2 rates are posted on a window. $32 without discount, $28 with Good Sams etc. The electrical pedestal appear to be relatively new and wired for 50/30 amps.

We plugged into 50A and all was well. Contrary to what other reviewers have stated, getting in and out was easy. We travel in a 45 ft motorhome and pull a 25 ft trailer. So we moved 70 feet through this campground. If we can, you can, too. We selected Site 19, all pull-through and had no problem to park our 70 feet. The site is not level and we could not completely level the right, either. But it was good enough for the night. This is not a resort, this is not a park, this is a simple parking lot right off of the highway. We think it is a bargain at $28 for a night with electric (and water, if you want it). We will return if a night's sleep is all we want. As mentioned earlier, payment is on the honor system. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.

Actually we did not stay. The first impression is that of a poorly maintained campground, and that is what it is. We were looking for a pullthrough and after trying several, could not find one that was within range of our levelers. Did not look at facilities, so no comment on cleanliness of those, except one star for overall impression. The office was closed. We camped at A Stone's Throw RV Park in a Motorhome.
