Needed a place to stay while attending a class for a week. The rate reflects a weekly rate plus 1 night. This is mostly a 55+/snowbird place with some RV sites, but was in close proximity to my class. It is not a camping" place. By and large there are a lot more mobile homes or park models. Having said that, it served my purpose well and was a nice place to stay. It was very clean and quiet. It's right at the end of season, but it appeared like there were a lot of activities during the season. Check-in was friendly, easy, and efficient. There is a security gate, and the park is close to shopping/restaurants. Now...the RV sites. Our 50 amp/FHU pull-thru site wasn't really a pull-thru. If your rig will turn on a dime, you can pull straight through. We had to back in, but will be able to hook up the toad and "pull out". The sites are close together. The WiFi is only at the rec hall/office, otherwise you'll need to pay for Tengo if you don't have your own. The cable TV was awful, so we used our OTA. We were able to get plenty of channels. Our site was gravel, and we needed to place boards under the jacks to keep them from sinking. However, we had no trouble levelling. There is a nice dog park and also plenty of space to walk the dog. We would return if in the area and need a site. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed one week paying $278 weekly rate. The reservation process was easy. They collected 100% at time of reservation (certainly not my preference). The check-in process was efficient. We requested a pull-thru site at time of reservation and that's what we received. The pull-thru section is close to the busy hwy with plenty of noise from trucks, motorcycles, etc. The pull-thru sites are very close. We could not put out our awning. The rectangular spot to park your rig is rocky gravel while the area where you walk and park your tow car is dirt with dead/alive grass/straw which tracks into your rv. Putting out a mat will help but not completely. In hind sight (because we stayed a week rather than a couple of days), we would have preferred a back-in site "inside" the park (quieter, less dirt, more space). However, I can fully imagine some interior sites difficult to get in due to narrow roads. The facilities are clean. The dog park is very large. They have single-stream recycling which is great. The residents seem pleasant enough but keep to themselves. The surrounding neighborhood isn't the best. I would not run outside the complex by myself so I did loops inside the park (approx .65 mi per loop). About a quarter mile down the road, we witnessed a police altercation in broad daylight. An apparent druggie pushed a cop. The cop had the druggie face down and handcuffed in a nano second. It confirmed my instinct about the area. I should mention the park is gated and we saw nothing sketchy within. There is wifi at the common facilities but we didn't use it. No wifi offered at the site. Hook-ups worked well. We had good signal for Verizon cell, Sprint Mifi and DirecTV. My personal take - I didn't care for Largo and I didn't love the campground. If you stay long-term, it's probably a better experience. To me, there's a gazillion lovely (better) places in Florida to choose from. I won't be going back. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Pinellas Trail trail is 41 miles long, well-marked and very enjoyable. Drive/park at Walsingham Park (use entrance on Walsingham Rd) then ride half mile on Walsingham Rd to hop on trail at approx 17 mile mark. It's probably safe but wouldn't suggest a female go alone. Walsingham Park is lovely with lakes and trails. Sponge Docks at Tarpon Springs is an icky tourist trap. Spectrum Field (Phillies) has a great vibe. St. Pete is pretty.

Beware! Made a reservation for a pull-thru site & after checking in & running my credit card for the balance due for a two night stay, I was informed that a pull thru site was not available & sites are not guaranteed by "Sun Resorts", and pull-thru sites were for large rigs only - our coach is 40 ft. The back in site we were given was not available due to a tree being removed, so we took a walk around the park & found a small van camper in a pull-thru site. Went back to the office & complained& basically was told too bad. When the back in site was finally available, it took us 20 minutes to get in the site. Our neighbor needed to move his car, because we had to drive over half his site to make the turn into our site because the road was so narrow. Also our neighbor across from us had to move her lawn ornaments. Tire tracks indicated this needs to be done all the time. If you are going to stay for the season, I guess this hassel may be worth it to you, the facilities looked ok, we didn't use any. But if you're only staying a few nights & want a pull-thru sites, stay somewhere else. This is a definite "bait & switch " operation. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate reflects a monthly rate plus electric at a rate of .1188 per kwh for electricity. This is a very nice park. The sites are very tight to get into. It took us several maneuvers back and forth to fit our 36' trailer into the spot. The streets are very narrow. Everyone is very friendly and many are in the park for the winter or live there in park models. There are many activities planned during the month. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The park has outstanding laundry facilities, a billiard room with 5 tables, large pool, card room, library, and a huge rec room. There are numerous activities every day and since many of the folks who are there are french Canadian many of the activities are offered on alternating nights in either English or French. The management was terrific, the people living there were incredibly nice, and it was exceptionally clean and well maintained. I would absolutely recommend it for long stays since it is centrally located in the Clearwater/St. Pete area. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We tried to book our stay online and the site had too many glitches (Note: the online form for booking has an option for Tent Trailers) and no one answers the phone after 5pm (Literally, we called at 5:15). Then, they returned our voice mail around 9:30am the next day. We asked to book over the phone and set the reservation, but we were advised to wait until check-in, but if we arrived between 12 and 1 no one would be there to let us in. While on the phone we told her about our dog, the hour and half trip we would be taking to get there and asked as many questions as possible on our end. The person on the phone did not ask us any questions or inform us that only CERTAIN trailers were welcome at their resort. It wasn't until we arrived and were ready to load-in, that we were told our pop-up trailer wasn't welcome in their resort. When my husband asked "Why the discrimination?" we were told, "That's just how it is." In our opinion, that is an important disclosure that should have been addressed over the phone, especially with misleading information on their booking website. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Tent Trailer.

Very helpful, friendly staff. Site was clean and easy to access. You do have to pay for wifi but the charge was not too bad. Laundry facility was excellent and the pool, though we did not use it, was very nice. Close to almost any shopping you might want to do and the beaches aren't far. Very nice park, especially for the price. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Positives: Very clean campground. All the sites were clean and the permanent homes (park models) were well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. The residents were very inviting and friendly. A nice dog run. A lot of activities but there were gearing down for the season. Negatives: Very few pull-through sites, which were long but very narrow. Mostly park model homes with a few RVs in between. The roads were paved but a little narrow and hard to navigate. Gravel sites that had some large rocks that you could trip on. I probably would go back there if in the area because of the people. We camped at Rainbow Village Largo RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
