An aging park over run with iguanas, children and dogs. Having said that the staff do an incredible job maintaining everything, and keeping the common areas ( water front, pool, restrooms etc) spic and span. Narrow asphalt roads and gravel sites next to the sea wall with the other sites sand and weeds. Some sites are bigger than others but most are extremely narrow and small. Do not think I would return as the trailer trash look of the park promoted by most residents is a bit much. An average site would contain, an rv, 2 or 3 vehicles, a trailer with a boat or personal water craft, a couple of kayaks and paddle boards, a scooter or motorcycle, a few fold up tables ( in addition to the provided picnic table), a full size BBQ and perhaps a smoker, enough lawn chairs to host large gatherings till after midnight, a plug in bar fridge and maybe a freezer, 2 or 3 ice chests, 3 24 paks of bottled water and the same in soda and beer. There would be towels and drying garments all over the awnings and on the clothesline between the rv and a vehicle. Being from out of state, the running of the sewer hose into the park sewer was unusual to me. Where I come from the health dept. mandates a air tight connection with a screwed coupling or a rubber donut. Guess the park sewer open to the atmosphere is a Florida thing? On the site next to us an older couple had a 5er with 2 sewer outlets...one connected as described, one not. When they left they opened the not connected one and gushed sewage onto the site. It looked like grey but is was fowl smelling. A few park staff rolled by on golf carts but did not stop. OK I guess. By the time they left about a third of their site was under about an inch of sewage. The good thing is with a sandy site it was dry in about 15 minutes. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

I booked this park because of previous reviews and Passport America rate. The utilities are good however they are all the way to the rear of the site. Be sure to have plenty of sewer hose; I used 30 feet. The interior site roads are paved but are barely wide enough for your rig which gives very little room for backing. The back in interior sites are very tight to get in if you have a larger rig. Be very careful when backing I had to jack knife my fifth wheel and luckily I kept getting out and checking clearances or I would have hit a large tree limb. They have nice pull thru sites but you will definitely pay a premium rate for them. The laundromat was clean with half of the washers out of order, $4.00 to wash. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff was so friendly. We had a problem with our cable and they immediately came out and fixed it. The staff is so nice, so friendly, so accommodating and wanted to make sure everything was fine. We camped with another couple who also had their travel trailer. I was thoroughly pleased, site was clean, everything was fabulous. This is my second trip there and clearly plan on going again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice campground with access to swimming in the ocean. Nice pier for fishing. Great sunset views. Not so good, spots at seawall get flooded after heavy rains to the point where it's difficult to get in and out. Park plans to fix this problem. Lack of supervision after 5 pm results in noise on the pier and Campground. We stayed for several weeks and did not see anybody clean the sites once. Washer/Dryer very expensive and again nobody cleans neither the room nor the machines. Otherwise enjoyed the sunsets. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Marathon at the moment only has a Publix for shopping, everything else are gas stations. Kayak at Curry Hammock State Park is great. Enjoy the Atlantic beach at Sombrero Beach, just down the road from Publix.

Overall Rating:

Very nice park Bayside, with great facilities on the water, including a pavilion, tiki hut, tables and benches to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We upgraded to a Harbor site (H1 - H6) and enjoyed the beautiful view out the windshield as these are pull in sites. Large coaches with power cords toward the rear - make sure you pull forward enough to reach the pedestal as it is quite a ways forward. Very helpful staff did all possible to ensure a pleasant stay. We don't have pets so can't comment on the alleged strict policy. Several well behaved dogs observed throughout the park. Nice pool and bathhouse. We visit every year and feel they made several upgrades when making repairs from Irma. Parking on gravel but several new patios and tables out your front door along with new landscaping. Internet and cable TV worked well or open skies allowed for SAT reception. We'll be back next year. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

The staff was friendly and helpful - especially when I called to get info on the park. As the lady stated, the sites are mostly grass, but there are may worn spots from the winter of long term snowbirds. There are a lot of trees in the park, but little shade at individual sites. There is a beautiful, spacious waterfront area with a large pavilion, picnic tables, add'l seating, seawall and piers. My husband was upset that it was not "dog-friendly," but it had a nice dog park and just did not want pets relieving themselves on other folks' spaces or the nice grassy areas - (okay by me). Also - site felt very spacious b/c the park was 2/3rd empty. Paved roads! We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

In spite of their good intentions, this park is definitely geared to seasonal big rigs. There are too many rules, including $30 cash pet deposit, which is refundable, but is a little bothersome for few days stay. There is little walking area since roadside paths are not in good shape. The area has done very well in recovering from Hurricane Irma, and all public facilities are open, but damage is very evident. Wonderful waterside facilities, such as pavilion, gulf swimming in roped off area. Fishing is available from pier with fish cleaning station. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We opted to pay extra for a seawall site and it was worth every penny. Rates are high but that is to be expected in the Keys. The staff was super helpful and the grounds were well kept. The wifi worked well which is important to us. The sunsets were awesome. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed over Easter weekend, so I think we ran into their highest rates. The Park was worth it, though. WiFi was EXCELLENT, adequate room for our 39 foot motorhome, hookups well placed and facilities top notch. They have a huge swimming area, boat launch and beachside amenities. The staff was helpful and enthusiastically friendly. The overall experience was excellent. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

The best part of this park is the 10-15' that borders the gulf - nice newer dock, sea wall, landscaping, pavilion with some colorful beach chairs. The spots along the water are by far the best. The pool area looked nice as well. The rest of the place seems more like a lower end campground. Tight and haphazardly spaced camping sites, dead or worn out grass in many sites. We had a large dead palm tree on our lot. The day we arrived, the sewer smell at our site and in several other areas was overwhelming depending on the wind direction and speed. The next several days it was windier and we didn't notice the smell anymore. In my opinion, this campground is way overpriced. We would not stay here again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

For the most part, post hurricane clean up as occured and there isn't as much debris laying around as we expected. Some places still aren't open but we were pleasantly surprised that most places are open for business and anxious for tourists to come back. Have the Lobster Reuben at Key Fisheries, visit Sombrero Beach (bring you lawn chair and sit in the water!) - it appears dogs are allowed there as well as picnicking. There are miles of bike trails in the area.

Basics: Paved narrow roads, sites sand and grass, pretty good Wifi, Verizon mifi and phone work well, showers and bath rooms were clean and newly renovated following Irma. This site and many others in the area were whacked hard by hurricane Irma. The folks here have been working hard to get things all fixed up. Our site was right on the harbor looking out on the gulf next to the picnic shelter and gathering spot for sunset. During the day the area had a lot of foot traffic and was noisy due to landscaping but very quiet at night. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The price was pretty high but we had a premium site because that was all that was available. The sites are pretty close together but there's room for slides and awning to co exist with their neighbors. I suspect part of the reason for the high price is the lack of availability due to Irma. (several CG are still closed). Outside of the price the park was very nice and we would consider staying here again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Would have given the park a higher rating except for the small spaces - but it's on an island so that's really to be expected. Very clean showers and restrooms and overall park is clean and well kept. Roads are in generally good condition. After all, this is just 4 months after Irma. Very nice social area at the water's edge. Pavillion where groups were gathered every night, spacious sitting area to watch the sunset or just sit by the beach. Seems like a lot of campers are here for the entire season. We were just here for 4 nights. About 6 miles to the shopping areas in Marathon, but easy road. As mentioned earlier, spaces are close together is the only negative. Would recommend the park and would stay here again. We camped at Jolly Roger Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Our stay was short. During the two nights we found the park clean, maintained, and in good condition. Updates were in progress due to hurricane damage. Sites are small, but expected considering it was the Keys. This is a great facility if you are a fisher person or want to have fun in a boat. Nothing in the area. Everyone had a dog and walked them in the dog park. We had a site there, no dog and people were noises early in the morning. Especially the old men like me.
