Due to Hurricane Irma hitting my local area, as an evacuee I was forced out of Florida but on the way back stopped at this state park for free. Governor Rick Scott announced that all state parks were giving free entrance and overnight stays to evacuees of Florida. This park has the nicest people in the office (where you make your reservations or check-in). When I arrived at my site #6, it was difficult for me to back in so I recruited assistance from the Camp Host and the man he was speaking with. After 2 hours, I was backed in, set up, and relaxing with my trusted companion furbaby in the air conditioning. There were also Camp Hosts in training there. Everyone I came in contact with was very helpful, happy, friendly and professional. The park is VERY clean! Oh what a great time I had. The sites are all level with gravel and 2 handicapped sites have a concrete pad. I was excited to hear that this state park had water, electric and SEWER on each site! There is a washer and dryer on the outside of the bath house. I would recommend Florida Caverns State Park to everyone! I loved it and will go back! We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

I went on the ADA cavern tour with tour guides Brooke and Robinson. There are stores with in 10 minutes away after leaving the park. Grocery Outlet has really good meat and low low prices. I was thrilled. There is a Domino's in town and a few gas stations. Bring mosquito repellant!

Rate is Florida Senior without the Reserve America Fee. The road through the campground is paved, but sites are packed sand & limestone. We were backed up to a swamp. There were 2 campground hosts, which is such a plus! Bathrooms/showers were kept very clean. I think they were getting ready to pave the main road, which would be a big plus! The swimming area is closed with alligator warnings. The caverns are a must see. We liked it here and would return. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park set in deep forest far from any noise of civilization. The campsites are spacious with a wide treed space between them. The utilities were in good working order. Our site was a full hookup site, site #6. The park is very well maintained. There are many easy walking trails throughout the park. The main attraction is the cavern. We did not go into the cavern. Tours only run Thursday through Monday. We have been in many caverns so that wasn't a concern for us. We love state park atmosphere. That is why we stayed there. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We really loved this park. It is just outside of the small town of Marianna which doesn't have much going on but the park itself is a gem. The sites are nicely spaced out, the bathrooms are clean, and there are tons of places to hike around the campsites. Some sites have full hookups which is great for a state park. Electricity was good and water had a good pressure. Dumpsters were a short walk away and easily accessible. We had a picnic table and fire ring at the site too. Verizon 4g was very spotty but enough to send email or conduct a Skype call - not enough to use Netflix or any streaming services. Sprint and ATT were nonexistent in terms of data and voice calls dropped often. In terms of laundry they only had 2 washers and 2 dryers but they seemed to be used little and worked really well. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't miss the tour of the Florida caverns if you are here. The visitors center is a 5 min drive from the campground and you can tour the caverns which are up to 50 feet below ground. I believe that lighted tours are only available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday because the lights in the cave cause mold to grow. However, they offer flashlight tours during the week which are super cool. You go with a group into the dark caverns and get a very personal tour!

Very small and very clean with paved roads, sandy sites that are mostly level. We don't pull a toad and are short at 25' but I noticed a few class A and even long Cs had to maneuver their toads to unhook or hook on the road as their sites barely fit their rig length. 32 total sites and 2 are campground hosts. Very quiet, fully shaded and surrounded by bog-like areas that probably have a fair share of mosquitos in warm weather so bring insect repellant. Two sets of washer/dryers to use and the sites all seemed to have full setup including sewer. The cost of $20/night was a great value. The campground is about 3 miles in from the main road. We spent a morning on-site visiting the caverns, a very good thing to do. After that we used this as our base and drove along the beaches and byways to enjoy the area. The showers were ok, with low flow, but whenever someone flushed a toilet or ran water in a sink, the hot water disappeared immediately and gave quite a cold shock. Sites had fire rings, tables and lantern poles and there was a good distance between for privacy. There is also a swimming area, open in season and easily reached via a short trail, as well as equestrian stables for those traveling with their horses. We would stay again. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful campground deep 3 miles back into thr state park. The ranger at the gate was pleasant, courteous, and very helpful. The area around the campgrounds is very wet due to recent rains, but there were no problems driving to he camping area. We rode bicycles around the paved roads and I adventured back into some of the off-road trails. They were mostly dry but you can not stop or you may be eaten alive by mosquitoes. Maybe I sprayed with attractant instead of repellent ????

We only used the area as a stopover but would like to come back again some time when we can explore more. Probably during a drier season. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Really a beautiful area and the caverns were spectacular. Just be very careful WHEN you come. The Spring rains had just about closed the park so I couldn't use my new kayak and because the cave dwellers, the bats, are endangered, the powers that be can't spray so there were clouds of mosquitoes. Call before you go to be sure that the caves aren't closed due to the rain! We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Definitely do the cave! Bring lots of bug spray. Saw 3 snakes in 2 days but what the hey, it's camping. Best bug spray was Picaridin spray. Found it on Amazon. not greasy or smelly and no Deet. Worked great!

This is another in a series of beautiful, clean, well-kept Florida state parks that we have stayed at. This one is a large park with a small (30 sites) campground. The campground has lots of trees and vegetation and the sites are very large and well-separated with picnic table, fire pit, grill, and even a clothesline. We only stayed overnight but checked out the restrooms/showers and they looked very clean, bright, and modern. They even had two washers and dryers! They were on a covered patio outside of the restrooms and there wasn't a folding table or anything like that, but how many state parks have laundry facilities?! Nice to have. There'd been lots of rain and some of the sand/dirt site surfaces looked a bit soft, but we were assigned a paved handicap site (don't know why; guess the ranger felt sorry for us! lol!). Probably because of all the rain and standing, the mosquitoes were vicious...but everywhere else we went in Florida was even worse. Bring plenty of bug spray, and I'd invest in a no-see-um net suit and screens for the rig if I ever come back to Florida! Despite the bugs, I'd definitely stay at this and all the other FL state parks we visited again...just probably at a later time of the year when the humidity is under 90% every day and you can run from the rig to the truck with less than a dozen bug bites! We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Truck Camper.

The rate reflects a senior discount. If you love nature, this is the place for you. It is approximately 3 miles of paved roads from the entrance to the site. It was a lot of twist and turns but was manageable in our 40 plus tow. Our site was a 50 x 35 back in, dirt with full hookups. It is VERY dark in the park after sunset. Be very careful if you are driving in and out after dark because of the wild life. Have fun. We camped at Florida Caverns State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here many times in past, first time since they upgraded sites to full hookup. This was a great improvement to the campground. Love coming back to the "mother land", and this is a great place to stay any length of time. Being in the woods of north Florida and enjoying the animals and weather. Park employees are great and help when needed.

Gorgeous spot to camp with big generous campsites. Firewood is on sale there for $4 but was soaked and wouldn't burn. We were there in spring and everything was damp damp damp. However the birds (especially woodpeckers) are abundant and there is a nice trail right near the campground. The swimming spring is within an easy walk of the campground looked very attractive and we saw some families having a lot of fun if you like deep water. I would have given it a 10 but there are ants everywhere in the campground so put some vaseline on your electric cord and do ant preparations for that. It is a wild place. Tips for other Campers:

The caverns are worth it but the tours are very busy so plan on being there by 8:30am and standing around for a while or you won't get tickets. The place has lovely combinations of typical Florida forests, swamps and sinkholes so you can really get a taste of wild Florida all in one place. If you can only get to one part of wild Florida do this campsite.
