This is a small county park, but located between two lakes. We had to pay the no-discount price of $23 for not being seniors or county residents. It is a secure area with the park staff making rounds every hour, and coded keypad gates after hours. You can get 25 pieces of firewood for $10, a great deal. Most of the campsites have a waterfront view. The pads are concrete and flat. All sites have a patio with picnic table, BBQ grill, and fire pit with benches. The sites themselves have guardrails with reflective dots on the ends so you could even park at night. The bathhouse was clean and they even put up a rack of magazines and book exchange station. The shower stalls were clean. Pets are allowed here on a leash. The tall trees provide a lot of shade. This is a well-taken care of park and we loved it. The reservation system is to book your date of stay only, then it's first-come first-serve when you arrive, whatever site is available. We were able to take our pick arriving on Sunday after the weekend campers left. Check-out is comfortably at 2pm. We will definitely come back. We camped at Trimble Park - Orange County in a Fifth Wheel.
Publix, McDonalds, Chinese, and a brewhouse (O'Grady's?) is just several miles away in the same parking lot. You can drive further down the same highway to Mt Dora about 15 minutes from camp to find Walmart and any restaurant. / We tried fishing in the lake almost daily - no luck here. We noticed the fishermen on boats weren't catching anything either.

This is a hidden gem. Beautiful large roomy sites with nice grills, picnic table, and a fire pit with benches. Bathhouse was sparkling clean. Located at the end of a dead end road and very quiet. Gated with security code for nighttime access. We camped at Trimble Park - Orange County in a Motorhome.Undo

Rate reflects senior non-county resident. We love this campground. There are no bad sites, just some better than others. Of course, the lake front sites are the best. The facilities are well maintained. There are nice nature trails; one has a very nice boardwalk as part of it. We saw many, many different types of birds, including eagles. The sunsets over Lake Carlton are just breathtaking. Downtown Mount Dora is very close. We ate at Fiesta Grande Mexican restaurant there and it was very good. There is a Publix's just a few miles from the campground on 441. We camped at Trimble Park - Orange County in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Loved this park! It only has 15 sites, but about ten of them are waterfront on a large beautiful lake. There is a nice paved patio, a large picnic bench, a BBQ grill, and a campfire ring with two small permanent benches around the campfire ring at each site. The entire park is surrounded by large beautiful lakes with several docks located within the park. There is is a nice nature trail and a very nice boardwalk. Downtown Mount Dora is less then three miles away and provides many shopping and eating opportunities. There is also a Publix Supermarket about two miles from the park. We will return to this park. Beautiful park. Our site was right on the lake and had a brick patio. Even though it only had 15 campsites, still wasn't full. Close to Mr. Dora and area attractions. Nice place and will return. It is one of the three Orange County Parks that accepts pets. Good Sprint cell service. I'll go back. We camped at Trimble Park - Orange County in a Travel Trailer.Undo
