A decent FL state park. We really didn't enjoy the campground itself since there was no privacy, lots of smoky fires at all times of the day and night, and a surprising amount of traffic. But, the overall park is gorgeous with several miles of very nice dog friendly trails. We skipped the glass bottom boat tour since it seemed expensive, but we did do a kayak tour with Brian and it was amazing! If you have a kayak or SUP, this park is a must stop. Amazing history, and even more amazing wildlife. A few sites have full hookups, but most do not so book early if you want them. Our site (14) was FHU and plenty long, but wasn't very level. Very good Verizon coverage and we got lucky in that we had a clear sky view for sattelite, but I wouldn't count on that in most sites due to tree coverage. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

What a wonderful state park! Sites are very big and mostly private due to the trees but no problem at all getting in here with a big rig. Road into the park is asphalt and the sites are well maintained gravel. We got satellite at site 33 but our neighbors struggled to receive theirs. Lots of local channels though with a strong signal. Verizon LTE was good. We walked our dogs around the camping loops which was fine. Didn't use the restrooms. Saw some deer and even a bald eagle flying overhead at the campground - alligators, turtles and egrets over at the Springs. Wish all parks were this nice. We would definitely return! We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Take your parking pass or camping receipt with you to the entrance of the Springs for free admission. Rent a kayak or canoe is a must as well as the glass bottom boat tour. This is old Florida at its finest!

The entrance to the campground is off Hwy 35 just south of Hwy 40. The Springs entrance is on Hwy 40.

The sites are very large and level. BUT we got site 1 and the sewer was situated so far back off the campsite that not even an extender hose would reach it. We had to move to another site, which was annoying, but the staff was very accommodating about helping us find a usable site. The mosquitoes were the worst of any campground we've ever stayed in. They swarmed you every time you stepped outside. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Evacuated east coast of Florida due to Hurricane Matthew and decided to come here but were told we had to leave here after one night because of possible Tropical Storm force winds. We had stayed her numerous times and like to return because the setting is so nice and the staff very helpful and friendly. Would love to have stayed longer but the storm forced us away. Sewer has been added to many sites but not all. We would return in the future. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful state park with very large & spacious sites. I wish more campgrounds had such huge sites as these. It's nice to have a site with plenty of privacy and not feel like you are too close to a neighbor. We travel fulltime but are not retired. We work from the road and sometimes need a place to just relax and unwind and get caught up on work projects. This was the place to do that. There is not a lot to do in the area besides visit Silver Springs park, but that was perfect for us. We had just finished several busy weeks of traveling with friends and family and we're getting ready for more upcoming busy weeks, so this peaceful, quiet week in between was just what we needed to re-charge. Verizon 4G works great here. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

We were looking for a CG in the area to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed on a weeknight on October.

This is a very nice campground. The sites are level gravel, relatively large and nicely arranged. Back in sites are mostly private and shaded. There are many pull through sites, most with some shade. There is wifi at the office which we didn't try. There is reasonable ATT and Verizon cell service at the campsites. All sites have water and electric, some have sewer. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

This SP campground is one of the best in the state. The sites are very large with hard packed gravel pad. The sites are set a good distance apart in a quiet forest setting. Water and electric are available on each site. Several sites on each loop have full hookups with 50amp Service.

The springs and glass bottom boat ride are spectacular. You can rent kayaks or bring your own for a real Florida adventure paddling the Silver River. Bears, coyote, deer and numerous small animals abound. On the river you will see alligators, turtles, a wide variety of birds and monkeys. Yes, monkeys. There is a breeding colony leftover from the days when Tarzan movies were filmed here.

I highly recommend a stay at Silver Springs SP. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent stay, beautiful park. The campground loops and sites are well maintained, bathhouses clean and functional. The park is well maintained and provides many hiking, biking and equestrian trails. There is a very good museum displaying the area history and geography with many artifacts. Staff is very helpful and friendly. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

This was our first time out with our new Class C and this was a great place to test her out. The sites were spacious, with crushed stone paving. The roads inside the park were paved and in good condition. Some of the sites had sewage connections but all had electric (both 50 & 30 amp) and water. Both pull through and back ins were available. The restroom were very clean and centrally located to the 2 loop roads and offered laundry facilities and snack machines. This is a natural state park, which means that they leave the wooded areas "as mother nature left them". Firewood is available at the ranger station and they disapprove of anyone going into the wood for that. Attractions and dining facilities are conveniently located just a short distance from the park. We stay here in a class C motorhome. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before and always enjoy returning because of the beautiful setting and of course, the Silver River with all it's beauty and activities. Park was still under construction for sewer installation at some sites which prevented reservations in advance but we had no difficulty obtaining a walk up site for a 12 day stay. Park was sparsely populated for the most part with a few more campers showing up on weekends. Many over the air digital TV signals available, cell coverage is very good also. No W-Fi in the park but our MiFi card worked fine here. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 6 nights. The RV park is about 2 miles away from the Silver Springs main entrance. The rangers and work campers are all very nice. The only negative things about our stay were THE TICKS!!! The park is infested with them! The rangers should warn people about them, as they can carry Lyme disease! My wife burned one off my back and I forgot one day to spray OFF on my legs and socks and pulled 4 off me in like 10 min. You must spray your legs and socks with OFF to keep them away! Also we wanted to go on a guided hike with a ranger they advertised on Sat. We showed up at 8 AM but no ranger and no hike! You should have a filter for your drinking water as it has a strange taste without it. It is a good place for day trips to other attractions in the area. Lots of stores near by. We felt safe and never had any problems other than those 2 things. 30% of the sites now have full hook ups. The rest are water and electric only. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Ocala National Forest is very close, They have nice swimming in the springs in the summer. They also have a rifle range. Good day trips that we enjoyed. Free admission to Silver Springs Park. You cannot swim at Silver Springs. They have glass bottom boats and a nice park and shopping area to spend a day.

The state is making massive improvements to the park and it will undoubtedly be the top park in FL soon. We stayed in a handicapped site with a paved path to the bathrooms. The shower had 2 heat lamps, 2 shower heads (one handheld, the other fixed), a nice bench and handrails. It's the nicest handicap restroom/shower I've seen in a campground. There was also a nice sink for doing dishes. Tons of trails around the park. Sewer hookups are being installed. The sites are gigantic and very private!!! Currently the sites are first come first serve for reservations, but there were many empty sites. A controlled burn was done near the Sharps Ferry sites so the sites should look great by summer. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful Florida State Park campgound with large sites with 30 amp and water service (there are a few 50 amp sites). Currently undergoing a big renovation with lots of dust and construction equipment nearby.

Sites are private and heavily wooded. Satellite service would be impossible.

New kayak launch with easy access to the Silver Spring River. It's a spectacular river with lots of wildlife including monkeys. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Nice pull through and back in sites. The sites in the middle of the camping loops had the longest pull throughs, definitely big rig friendly. We were in site 15 which was mostly shaded and no view of the sky for satellite. Good reception for both cell phones and air card though. Ladies bathroom in our loop had two shower stalls with bench, hooks and plenty of hot water. Although I'd rate the facilities as good, the heat lamps were ineffective during a cold snap. Campground was dark and quiet at night with decent space between sites. We had a full day of heavy rain and the roads and sites drained very well with no standing water. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
