Great place to stay. Ate at MOJO restaurant. It was okay. Site stays dry in the rain, and we had plenty of it. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Silver Springs State Park turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. Beautifully maintained with modern facilities, the CG is nevertheless rustic with an old Florida feel. The restrooms are spotless and laundry facilities are available. The sites are large with reasonable privacy. No WiFi or cable TV, but plenty of TV stations are available using your antenna. Verizon cell was very strong. Only a few sites have sewers, but a free dump station is available as you leave. There is a museum on site which is open Sat and Sun. Walking trails are plentiful. The nearby water park unfortunately is closed, but the glass bottom boats are still operating. We would definitely return. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

I have to say that for $24/night, this is the nicest CG we have stayed in. In cleanliness, it rates with $80 CGs. All roads paved, sites are packed pea gravel and well marked with new 20/30/50A power pedestals and dual spigot water, both well placed. The sites are huge with VG separation and many with partial to full shade (back-in sites are more shady). Our site had an older large picnic table, fire ring & grill on a pedestal, and still had enough room for a tent without crowding our 31" Fiver. RRs are wonderfully clean and showers had hand-held sprayers, clean wood bench and clothes pegs. A washer & dryer at the bath house with a big sink for washing clothing or dishes, plus an animal-proof garbage dumpster and co-mingled recycle bins. The Rangers were very knowledgeable & helpful. Firewood and ice for sale at the camping entrance. There are cabins available, too. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

For activities, rent a kayak at the main tourist entrance and paddle the lovely "paddle trail" which is shaded and alive with turtles, fish and birds of many descriptions. For eats, go to Mojo's Grill on SR40 a mile towards Ocala. They had nice selection of craft-brews, mouthwatering pulled pork, and I could barely finish my 1/4 serving of nachos. Yum!! You can go swimming at Juniper Springs just about 20-30 min east.

This is an exceptional park. It's huge in size and all roads are paved. My pull thru site was on the end of the row and was at least an acre in size. Surrounding sites were also very spacious. What wasn't cleared for the campsite was all pine woods. Everything well maintained. No bugs that we noticed. The portable dish looked out between the needles. Some sites had sewer. Not far from town. Rangers take pride in the park and are always there to help. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed in site #31. Large site, gravel surface and more than enough room to be comfortable. Partial shade, and limited foliage to separate the site from other sites, but the nearest neighboring site had to have been at least 100 feet away. Back-in site with full service, and had enough driveway room to park our tow vehicle in front of the camper. Also had room for two more vehicles along side our tow vehicle. Had an active gopher tortoise about 30 feet from the site. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent park. Friendly and helpful staff (rangers, hosts, volunteers). Well laid out, paved loops, newish very clean bathhouse, plenty of shade and side privacy. Of the 59 sites, all have 50 amp, 13 have sewer, about half are pull-through. Didn't have bug issues, but a good possibility on the trails. The trails are good. Swamp, field and hammock environment. Ocala about 3 miles away. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit the cracker village and museum. The Swamp and River Trails are the most interesting of the 7 trails, although all provide good, interesting hiking. Drive 2.8 miles up Hwy 35 to the spring head for an interesting day in this beautiful park now managed by the state park system. Glass bottom boat rides, kayak/canoe rentals, hiking, picnicking, and just relaxing enjoyment. They have concessions there.

Lovely Florida forest style park with lots of trees and plenty of space between the ample sites. Some sites do have sewer, but that is not on Reserve America. Campground roads are paved, but sites are not. Restrooms/showers are new & clean, with separate handicap accessible room. Tips for other Campers:

The campground entrance is off HWY 35, not Hwy 40. There is no sign indicating that if you are using GPS to get to the park. Main park entrance is not the same as campground entrance.

Park admission is free if you show your campground vehicle pass. The glass bottom boat tour is $10 and very enjoyable.

Great state park.......clean quiet level sites. Lots of shade ........very clean bathrooms and showers. Close to all kinds of shopping and restaurants. With that being said.... choose your site CAREFULLY....stay away from " shared " or buddy sites if your not traveling with camping buddy. We picked a shared site due to availability and had a horrible stay. Our shared campsite neighbors had guests spend a few days with them in a truck towing a WORK trailer. They had a total of 4 vehicles on one site plus 7 kayaks and stuff all over their site. They blocked the shared driveway so when we looked out our coach windshield all we seen was truck & work trailer. Felt as if we where camping in Walmart parking lot. We complained to the park ranger......but that was like talking to a hole in the ground. Surprisingly the camp host in the same loop did nothing to reinforce the 2 vehicle per site rule. We will not revisit this park. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

My site (#43) happened to have sewer but most sites are W/E. Price is the same, regardless. Over half of the sites are pull throughs and are extraordinarily spacious. Campground road is paved, sites are gravel. Most seem to be quite level. Shade varies site to site but most get some shade at some point of the day. OTA TV signal and Verizon reception both good. Laundry facilities in the comfort stations (at only $1.00 per machine). There are loads of trails, including one that goes all the way to the actual Silver Springs Park tourist attraction (2+ miles one way). Or you can easily drive there and, with your camping pass in hand, get free admission. My favorite thing about this campground was its dog friendliness. I have found many Florida parks to limit access to dogs, especially in areas where they have protected wildlife. At Silver Springs, not only is your dog allowed on all the campground trails, but he/she is allowed in at the main tourist site... plus they give you a dog cookie! We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The park is close to Ocala, Florida, a nice-sized town with plenty to do. Walmart is very close by. In the other direction, you have Ocala National Forest, a rich environment to explore and enjoy. And, don't forget, visit the Silver Springs Park before you leave if you can. It has beautiful nature walks, the famous glass-bottom boats, canoe and kayak rentals, and several eateries and gift shops.

Bike riding available on paved campground roads. Walking trails of different distances. Large, long spacious shaded sites. Good lengthy space between neighbors. A short ride to the main entrance where you can launch your kayak or rent one. Also boat tours including the glass bottom boats which appeared to be filled to capacity each time they departed. The water is crystal clear. The walking path along the water is paved with seating available from time to time. They have a restaurant and ice cream shop. Enjoyed a quiet relaxing afternoon there. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

$27 a night once taxes, etc are figured into the nightly rate. We booked several months ahead of time as the campground is popular and it was full during our entire stay. There are a handful of 50 amp sites, they are: 6, 8 ,10, 24, 42, 44, 45, 47, 49, 51, and 54. These sites do not have sewer hookups, The majority of the 30 amp sites do have sewer. There are two restroom buildings, each of which has a washer & dryer available for use at $1 each. They are available 24/7 and located outside. I found this a very nice, convenient surprise. Our Verizon phones worked as did our Mi-fi card. The park is heavily treed and sites are very large and private. We were not able to get our roof mounted satellite to connect but got all the major networks on our over the air antennea. This is a beautiful park and we wish we would have had more time here, 4 nights was not long enough! We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Silver Springs State Park is well marked coming off of Highway 40, however the campground, which has the same name, is not. At the intersection of SR 40 and SR 35 turn to the south and travel about 1 mile. The campground entrance is on the left. Lots of shopping in the area as well as the Don Garlitz Drag Racing Museum.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and it's now on our "will return" list. The sites are large, and our pull thru was easily long enough for two motorhomes. The electric and water hookups were well placed and easy to use, and the dump station was conveniently located right across from our loop's exit. We had no trouble getting Dish satellite service with our portable dish. The Verizon and AT&T voice and data signals were strong here. The cities of Silver Springs and Ocala are nearby, with plenty of restaurants and store to choose from. And the entry to the famous Silver Springs are right around the corner. The glass bottom boat ride was fun, educational, and well worth the nominal ($10 for seniors) cost. Your vehicle pass for the campsites also admits you to the springs section, so make sure you bring it with you after you park. The museum in the campgrounds section is also well worth the $2 admission, but it's only open on weekends. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

Such a pretty campground and the most space between sites we have seen. Pull through site exceptionally long, we could have put 2 MH in it! Quiet. Lots of shade. Some nice hiking trails, dog friendly. The boat ride area is very pretty, also dog friendly with some very nice walking trails. Dogs can't do boat ride. Hookups good and convenient. Ocala very close, so lots of restaurants and shopping. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.

A decent FL state park. We really didn't enjoy the campground itself since there was no privacy, lots of smoky fires at all times of the day and night, and a surprising amount of traffic. But, the overall park is gorgeous with several miles of very nice dog friendly trails. We skipped the glass bottom boat tour since it seemed expensive, but we did do a kayak tour with Brian and it was amazing! If you have a kayak or SUP, this park is a must stop. Amazing history, and even more amazing wildlife. A few sites have full hookups, but most do not so book early if you want them. Our site (14) was FHU and plenty long, but wasn't very level. Very good Verizon coverage and we got lucky in that we had a clear sky view for sattelite, but I wouldn't count on that in most sites due to tree coverage. We camped at Silver Springs State Park (formerly Silver River State Park) in a Motorhome.
