The site was clean but on somewhat of a down slope. We never could get the camper level but we enjoyed our time anyway. There was a large picnic table at the site and a fire ring. The bathrooms were VERY clean with large shower areas. There are a few nice concreted sites that are usually around the bathroom area. There's a hiking trail but bring sunblock and water because it's a fully open trail. There's also a paved bike trail. The boardwalk is canopied and a very nice walk down to the springs. They rent kayaks and canoes in the park area and there's a boat tour available. The park also has pavilions with grill areas. There are also cabins you can rent in the park but I'm not sure of the prices. We went the first week in June so the springs were "cold" (to a Floridian) but the weather was amazing for camping. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This state park packs a big "wallop" when it comes to enjoying the nature and beauty of its natural spring. Manatees, river otters, mineral spring water to swim in (if you don't mind the beware of gator signs). A very friendly staff and great sites make this a must-see campground in Central Florida. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

Go to the spring and just stand still on the wooden observation platforms--you never know what wildlife will just show up! Check out the historic home on site, but remember it's closed on Monday's and Tuesday's.

One of our favorite campgrounds. Sites are not always level, but lots of privacy and just roomy enough with water and electric. Two of the three bathrooms are new and excellent, and there is a washer/dryer at both. You can bike directly from the park onto Volusia County's paved and mostly level bike trails, a very extensive and expanding system. Get the County app for your phone to see them all. Good Verizon coverage and plenty of OTA channels; adjacent town of Orange City has all you'll need and there's plenty to do in the area. Jan/Feb is best time to go as the manatees use the warmer water of the Spring to sleep at night. You'll see literally hundreds of them, depending on how cold it is. Park opens at 0830 AM and there's a long line until early afternoon, so you may wait 45 minutes to get back into the park from a morning bagel run. We love to walk down to the spring just after dawn while the ranger is counting the manatees. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Site was very private, sandy and had a slope to the side. Separate dump station. Very private area with a short walk to the springs and St Johns River area where, in the winter you can see lots of manatees, alligators and beautiful birds. Bath facilities were new and very nice. Local TV was good as was iPhone service.

This park is on the St Johns River and is very spacious. They have a food concession, boat tours and rentals. In the winter the park is crowded with everyone coming to see the manatees. Also a favorite spot for the snow birds. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

New bathhouses since last visit. Very nice and well maintained. Also, new extension to bike path since last visit. Lot of activities or just a good place to relax. No manatees this time of year, but allows for water activities in the spring run. Good hiking and biking. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The two hour river cruise is a good break from the routine. Lot of wildlife, especially birds, and the "captain" provided good narration and accommodated photographers very well, stopping and backing up to allow a good shot. If you like biking, ride the paved trail outside the park. Saw deer and black bear.

We loved this park. The spring and river are great for paddling, the spring is also wonderful for tubing and swimming. You can walk to the springs entrance from the campground if you're in reasonably good health. The line to get in here gets long on the weekends, so be mindful of this if you are arriving or trying to get back in to the park mid-day. We will go back during manatee time. This was our last trip in the "Big Rig" 32' Tango rear lounge. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We kayaked around Hontoon Island, about a 10 mile paddle. Saw lots of gators and other wildlife. Kayak and canoe rentals available through onsite concessionaire.

The campsites are very private with screens of Florida scrub forest in a U around each site. It makes backing in a little crazy, but once you are in, you feel like you are in your own private piece of Florida. Our site was level and had water and electricity. There is a short path down to the Springs. The Manatees that winter there had just left when we were there in early April. So we snorkeled and swam in the 73 degree water. You can snorkel over the spring and look down into the huge broken gash in the earths surface where the water comes out. You can rent floaty tubes and a small locker for your keys. You can also rent snorkel gear, we brought our own. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

Manatees show up at the park the beginning of November if you are lucky. Verizon LTE service on my iPhone was good enough at two dots. Good park and electricity at all sites. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Tent.

Most sites are packed sand, but fairly level. However, a few sites are being paved. Vegetation surrounds each campsite, providing for some nice privacy. While sites do have electric and water there is no sewer service at the sites. There is, however, one dump station in the park. A footpath connects the RV park to Blue Spring where the water is always a refreshing 73 degrees. Overall, this is a fantastic park and we'll certainly be back. This is an older State Park as the roads in the campground are narrow. We reserved a handicap site #7! It was OK, not paved and short to get a 40' Rv backed into. Bath houses were clean. There are no sewer hookups but a dump station is available. The spring is nice and lots of things to do : canoes, kayaks, boat tour , tubing and swimming. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

This is an older Florida State Park, and it shows it. Although sites are well separated, they are also eroded and it is difficult to find level parking within the site. Our friends who volunteer here say they are going to remove or renovate shower houses, which are poorly located and old, but clean. Handicap sites are to be added. TV and MiFi perform well since we are very near a cosmopolitan area. The springs part of the park has been modernized, since many people day trip to see the manatees. Boardwalks and viewing platforms are numerous. Many manatees enter the park in winter for the consistent 72* clear water. Ranger programs and river cruises are available for information. We might return after improvements are made. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

Paved roads around the campground. Very easy to park and setup. We purposely went in January, so that we could see the Manatee. We were not disappoint. One morning, during our 5 night stay, we were able to see over 300. There is a great paved trail from the campground to the springhead. Also, we took the boat ride and the ranger was fantastic in his explanations. The only reason I gave this park a 9 is because the Ladies Shower House and no hot water. This wouldn't be a problem in the summer. During the Winter, be prepared to wait about 30 minutes to get into the park, because of the line of folks wanting to get in to see the manatee. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

It is clean, but there isn't much wow factor for being a state park. There is a spring which flows into the river, and manatees do spend the winters there, we're told. You can float in the upper part of the spring run. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay at Blue Spring. Many of the sites are very shallow, and big rigs would have a problem fitting, but we did okay with our trailer. Swimming in the spring is fun and very refreshing during the hot summer. Some sort of flotation device is highly recommended. We had noodles, and they were perfect to use during snorkeling. During the weekend the spring area is very crowded, but not too bad during the weekday. Tip: they let campers stay in later than non-campers. There is a great paved bike trail right outside the entrance of the park. We saw deer and turkey while on our ride. It's about 5 miles one way if you do the loop at the end. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Travel Trailer.

First impression was not very good due to an unfriendly person conducting guest check-in. He did not seem to have the right personality to meet/greet guests and it was obvious he did not like this particular job. The RV sites are at an angle to road therefore are much easier to back into. All sites are in sandy soil. We were in site #38. Sites can be tight and affect your ability to use awnings and slideouts. Very private with lots of overhead cover. Depending on the site, you may have great satellite reception or none at all. Bathrooms/showers were older but very clean. Train tracks close by and the train comes through day and night. Phone reception was good but signal was not constant. Will stay here again. We camped at Blue Spring State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
