I've found KOA's in general as at least, consistent in what they provide. That said, I will not visit this KOA again. We made reservations for our site months in advance. Upon arrival, they have an employee escort you to your site and assist you in parking. Our site was too short for our motorhome (40 foot). The employee kept wanting me to back up and I could see in my rear-view camera that the rear of my coach was about to hit a large stand of bamboo right behind the rig. I stopped and he came to the drivers window and said "you need to backup about 3 feet, you're not sitting on the pad.". I told him "I'm about to hit the bamboo and I'm not going back any farther." He said "you aren't going to hurt the bamboo, you've got to move back farther." I said "I'm not moving another inch as that will damage my paint." After a bit of arguing I shut it down. I walked around back and was 4 inches away from a 1" piece of cut-off bamboo punching a hole in my rear cap. I showed him the issue and he said they'd send a crew over to trim back the bamboo so I could backup properly. They never sent anyone. My second issue is that this KOA has employees running around everywhere. There's always someone on a golf cart riding around, prowling around your campsite weed-eating or who knows what. The sites are already very close together so privacy of any kind is non-existent. Prior to leaving at the end of our stay, I checked things on the motorhome to make sure it was road-ready and found my antifreeze a bit low. I topped that off and started the engine to bring it to temp to recheck. It had maybe been running 3 minutes when I see a KOA employee scoot under my awning. I went outside to see if he needed help and was sternly told I wasn't allowed to run my generator in the campground. I wasn't running the generator, it was the engine and I told him in a few minutes I would be finished. We won't be back. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

KOA 10% discount for two nights at a supersize site The site was a long gravel and concrete pull-through site with FHU and 50 amps. There was a good sized concrete patio adjacent to the pad with a patio table, four chairs and two person glider. We had good Verizon cell and internet reception. We had good DishTV satellite reception. The park's WiFi was a little slow. The parks interior roads are narrow, but easily navigated. The park was quiet both day and night. We would stay here again. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Highly recommend this park. Great location on the lake and the fishing was excellent. Not a big park but staff and setting is excellent. They are clean and well manicured grounds. Nice pavilion with corn hole, horse shoes and ladder ball. Will surely be back. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We really like to stay at the Orlando KOA SE when we are in the area. The park is very clean and attractive. The facilities, hook ups, store and walking paths are great. The staff is super friendly and helpful without being too much so. The location is great for services and access. We originally picked this RV park because it is close to Orlando International Airport, which we use for quick trips to the West Coast. We now go here as a regular stop to/from the Keys. We often stay for a week or more just because it is so nice and so convenient. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Site size, landscaping, spacing between sites, and view vary a lot between the different types and location. The deluxe patio sites are huge. The lake side sites have great views. The sites in the middle don't have either. Choose your site type wisely.

Overall Rating:

Nice park, nice landscaping, clean showers and bathrooms. Staff helpful. Good site separation in the section we were in, section B, deluxe lakeside. No problems with check-in. 28 cable channels, fuzzy but viewable, many over the air channels available. Water had a strong chlorine smell and taste. The roadways that were not paved were uncomfortable to walk on, due to the large size of the "gravel", which was 1-1 1/2" in diameter. Quiet at night. Plenty of shopping nearby, within 1-2 miles We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Great park, nice lake. Dog friendy. Easy big rig access. Super clean park, many work campers, probably the cleanest park we have stayed at. Access to all the attractions in Orlando while being far enough to be out of the chaos during the evenings. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice KOA right off toll road and easy to find. Road noise was not an issue. Site was excellent. The interior roads were tight but we were able to maneuver our 36 foot Motorhome with car into site with no issues. Staff was friendly and helpful. Laundry room was clean, mist machines were in operational condition. Prices were on par with most campground laundry rooms. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Park is very clean and well kept. Campsites and roads are tight with neighbors very close. This campground is on a lake with good views. Overall I liked the campground, however, it is pricey. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our time here and the staff was friendly. Campsite and fire pit was clean, and site needed some minor leveling. Sites along the lake only included a small two seat table, which we found an inconvenience. We would have preferred a standard picnic table. Some camper and cabin customers were long term, and these sites appeared really rough, which presented a negative look on the park. Wi-Fi was weak and not reliable. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue. Verizon phones were able to maintain a 4g signal. Pull-thru sites are available. Check-in process and discounts offered was a constant concern, as we discovered incorrect charges to our account which needed to be fixed frequently. Campground within 1-2 miles from gas station, restaurants, freeway access and grocery store. Campground is 30 min from Disney World and 45 min from Kennedy Space Center. Overall, those campsites along Lake Whippoorwill were amazing. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice lakefront setting. Our site was tight on length and width. Most of the employees were nice, but they had a couple of unpleasant ones as well. Nice dog park on site for your pets. One con is this place is a bit remote. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park was a bit pricey, but that is typical of KOA's. The spots were a bit tight and interior roads were as well. Construction currently going on was quite noisy, starting out at 7am every morning. Otherwise, the service was great and location worked well to access the sights of the area. Pool was a bonus and sites on the water were excellent. We had some branches hanging over into our site, touching our rig and the staff were there promptly to trim them for us. There didn't seem to be many options in the area, so we would recommend this park and would stay here again. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2014 - $56.00
Overall Rating:

We concluded a 7 night stay and were very happy with our experience in this campground. It is centrally located to all of the attractions. 25 minutes to Disney. 20 to Universal. 15 to International Drive. There is a Publix grocery store within 15 minutes. That shopping center also has an Outback available. The campground was amazingly clean and well maintained. Each day the employees show up in force to work on landscaping, picking up trash at your site, and maintaining the grounds. Their hard work shows. The store is well stocked with all necessary camping supplies, but also has a nice selection of gifts and accessories that are made by, and benefit, third world countries. This is a Christian campground. Keep your alcohol in your site and not out in the open. In 7 nights during the busy July season, it was always quiet by 9 PM. This campground is right on the lake, but not very large. Our site was B17, which is a new "Super Site", recently renovated. The pad was perfectly level, allowed for our truck to be parked next to the camper. The site was neatly maintained, with a hanging swing (for 2), grill box, fire ring, and table and chairs already in place for you. Plenty of space between sites with more than enough room for awnings and slideouts. These Super Sites can accommodate very large rigs with ease. Although we didn't use it, there is a very nice pool in the park, a boat ramp and a small pier. Loved the dog play park. We were very pleased with this campground. If we're in the area again, we'll be staying here. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Have stayed here several times because it is the closest campground to Central Florida R&P. It has all the amenities you would expect KOA to have including an escort to your site 24 hours a day. Employees are friendly and helpful. Roads are paved, grass between sites, sites are either concrete, gravel or grass. We were able to wiggle back and forth a bit to get a satellite signal between the palm trees, electric was a little low but not enough to trip our surge protector. Water pressure a little low and they were working on the sewer system. It is big rig friendly, just a hair tight. We arrived after hours, the employee that escorted us to our site changed it because he wanted us to have more room. Pool and dog park are great and there is stuff for kids. Will stay here again. We camped at Orlando S.E./Lake Whippoorwill KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
