We used this park for an overnight stay. Park road is tight but we saw no issues with overhead branches. Our sight was loose sand and had a challenge getting level. Plenty of vegetation between sites. Narrow road presents a challenge to back in a trailer, but doable if experienced. I would stay here again. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The Park Rangers are very friendly and helpful. The park does allow walk-ups. There are 3 restrooms, two have laundry facilities and appeared to have been remodeled so they are a little nicer but all were clean. No laundry items at the area but can be purchased at the camp store/outpost. Sites along the Old Dixie Hwy get a lot more road noise. Camped in a Class B so had no problems with size of the site. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you go to the camp store/outpost. They have food service and serve a local brewery's beer on tap. They also rent canoes and kayaks. They have a large outside patio area so it's a wonderful place to sit in the mornings or evenings. The park is only about 6 miles from Andy Romano Beachfront Park. We were in a Class B so that was a great place for us to park it and enjoy the beach.

This park is in a rural area. The sites are sand so be prepared for a sandy mess. It rained really hard and there were huge puddles on the roads. We were on a motorcycle when a park worker went flying by and splashed us and laughed. The restrooms were very clean. There was no room for our towed trailer at the site. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful park with lots of vegetation and privacy. However, in July the mosquitoes are vicious. I had read in other reviews about low branches, despite this, we hit an antenna on a tree that elbowed into the road. It broke the antenna and ladder. By the look of the tree we are not the only ones who have hit it. Ranger said they would do something about the tree. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a really nice park with large, secluded sites offering water and electric. Tall trees and brush surrounding each campsite keep things quiet and serene. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring. Firewood is available at the camp store and gathering of dead or downed wood is forbidden. There are three very nice bathhouses and each has one washer and one dryer. We stayed here for one overnight and would have stayed longer if our itinerary would have permitted. Reservations can be made in advance online. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Motorhome.

This campground in the Florida state park system is in need of some serious road work and tree trimming. We encountered foot deep "potholes" that were filled with water and about eight feet wide, and full of road dust slurry. Our campsite was full of overgrown foliage that we had to very carefully navigate around to avoid scratching our paint. The site was level and utilities worked. We had good Verizon signal. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Motorhome.

I love this state park. I've been here a few times. Only down fall is the camp sites. In my opinion they are small. They can be hard to back into. Other then that the area is fantastic. The park and surrounding areas offer good fishing, shopping and restaurants. The beach is awesome. You can even drive on the beach. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Great park, feels very intimate even though it's fairly large. Sits on a peninsula just a few miles from Ormond Beach. Not at all big rig friendly, so my hat's off to those who were able to squeeze their larger 5th wheels and TTs in here during our stay. Several site driveways are at a 90 degree angle to the road and there is a lot of vegetation opposite the sites, so some are likely more difficult to get into. Nice little boat ramp with trailer parking for water activities a mile and half or so from the bottom of the campground loop, some fishing access points along the way as well. I did have a raccoon open the drinks cooler during the night, that was on me for not securing it at all. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful park totally surrounded by water. The roads and sites are mostly caliche and sand and were uneven and rather rough to travel. Most of the sites were short and hard to back into. Our 33' rig fit into what I believe was the only concrete pull through in the park, but otherwise I am not sure we would have fit elsewhere. The park itself was a great surprise, a lovely park store with a large deck where we watched a beautiful sunset over the lake. Utilities were well placed, only 30 amp and no sewer hook up, but we managed. The dump site was a tight turn for a longer rig. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Close to Ormand and Daytona Beaches and only 45 minutes to Orlando. The little town of Ormand was quaint and had everything needed.

Great state park campground. Features a camp store that sells all the necessities where one can also rent kayaks. Very pretty paddle with lots of wildlife. Rode mountain bikes out to see the Indian statue a couple of times. Sites are surrounded by woods but fairly close to each other. Clean facilities. Very busy in February. It rained when we were here, and the potholes in the road (there were many) filled with rain water and created some mud. Probably not very comfortable in summer: rain + heat = mosquitos, but fine in winter. Had a bit of leveling to do at our site. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Very nice wooded park. Site was plenty large enough for us with our small trailer, but would have been very tight and difficult to park with a large RV or 5th wheel. Bathhouse was among the nicest we've ever seen in a state park. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The campsite was clean and level with water and electric hookup. The staff was very helpful and came through the park throughout the day; the camp host was very knowledgable about the park area. There's saltwater fishing, nature trails and a very nice waterside store for minor things. There are waterside tables and seating to watch the sunset on the river. Overall a very nice park that you can unwind at. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

The sites are small and not meant for larger RV units. We watched a large fifth-wheel struggle to get backed in site. Bathrooms were clean with great water pressure in the showers. Laundry facilities were up to par. There is bike riding, kayaking, fishing, and some hiking (not a full on hike, but walking). They have a general store but it doesn't have everything. Town is not too far for essentials. You can rent a kayak. Small boats can use the dock and I believe go through the channel to get to the ocean. Observed deer and raccoons after dusk. Saw dolphin and manatee in intercoastal waterway. Fire pits and picnic tables at every site. The beach is only a few miles away in your vehicle. Plenty of restaurants in town. I-95 is close. We can't wait to go back. We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Ormond Beach is right over the bridge (off 40) or you can travel a few more miles to Daytona Beach (dirty town) on A1A. As of now, Volusia County has parking on the beach for limited areas.

Lots of low hanging tree's on the road into the park and the park is very narrow and tight. Dirt/sand road, very dusty sites are same, nicest bathrooms in Florida, it's really a pretty park but the dirt really turns me off, won't come back! We camped at Tomoka State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The road to the campground is sandy but rough. I think a class A or an Airstream might drag the bottom. The sand road makes it passable. They were both camped there during our stay. The sites are small but nice, mostly shady, and quite. The staff were not much help. They did not know anything about the trails or the area. I thought this was odd. Tips for other Campers:

The concrete trail that is across the entrance from the campground is a nice ride through the woods. It wanders through the woods and comes out at the intersection of Pine and Beach.

The Casements tour was worth the time.

We used the Koin Kleen Laundry in Ormond. I would recommend them.

Best place to eat Bubbalous Bodacious BBQ.
