Excellent campground. Very well laid out. Roads were very easy to navigate. The park is absolutely beautiful. Lots of wild life around (ducks, lizards, etc - very fun to watch). The trees are beautiful. We could see the water from our site. Lots of space for our tow vehicle and an extra vehicle that we had. Security gate with code. Playgrounds, large screened in area with many picnic tables and electrical outlets (we sat their and worked on our computers). We were right next to the internet, and it worked very well. Easy hook ups. Plenty of room for outdoor set up. We will definitely stay here again. Close to highway 95, did not hear any traffic. Next to an airport but did not hear any planes in the evening or at night. Very quiet...nice pet area next to the water. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

If you want a water side site, book ahead. They are usually full on the weekends. Swarms of tiny knats, bring outdoor fogger, bug zapper and bug spray. The good far outweighs the knats.... Area for tent camping, very nice. Large fire pits for groups.

Rate is for a lakefront site. This is a large county park amidst the urban sprawl of Palm Beach County. Many of the waterfront sites are in circles, so only a few of them are directly waterfront, and in some cases the view is blocked by vegetation. There is a 14-day limit on the waterfront sites, after which you have to move to the inland sites, which are packed rather closely together. Your view there is dozens of other RVs. In March the campground was still filled with long-term snowbirds, many from Canada. The restrooms are rather dated. The attached shower rooms were OK, plenty of hot water & good pressure. The laundry room has 8 washers ($2) & 8 dryers ($1) that require tokens, which are sold in the office in $10 rolls, with no refunds. The campground is a very good value compared to other options in the area. It is also adjacent to a county airport for small private planes. Not much noise when I was at the waterfront site, but there was some on 1 of the 4 days I was at an interior site. Be careful using your GPS, mine took me to the entrance for the Park's Golf Center, which is next to the main entrance and would be tight for larger rigs. Use the main entrance on Congress Avenue and follow the signs to the campground. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We got lucky with a last minute reservation as we were trying to escape the mosquitoes at Collier-Seminole. Very happy we did as we really enjoyed this huge county park. Most sites are long term parking and are tough to get into, but water sites have a two week limit. The campground is a mix of different size sites with varying widths. Some are pretty close together, others have decent sized yards, so check the map when making reservations. Our site, 119 was an end site so no close neighbors on either side, but rear site was close. Bonus was that it's directly across from the dog park, and not so much of a bonus, directly across from the dump station. Good news, it was rarely used since most sites have full hookups. We were as close to the airfield as one could get, but the air traffic didn't bother us and we actually enjoyed watching the small planes take off and land. The really nice thing about the park was the miles of paved walking/biking trails. Lots of green space once you get outside the campground in a lovely area. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Everything SeaLandSky said was pretty spot on, except if your staying at the west end of the park where the airport is located. There is now a helicopter training school located on the airport grounds. Monday through Fridays the helicopters are doing maneuvers and hovering which at times can be extremely loud and annoying (no it's not because I'm getting older). So just be aware if your looking for some quiet you'll be disappointed. Come on the weekend or stay on the east side of the park it might be quieter there. Other than that it's a great park as others have alluded to. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed four nights in a lakeside site on the east side of the park. It was one of the nicest sites we've ever had. Lots of room with wildlife just a few feet away. The interior sites are much more crowded. Did not see any pull-thrus. Naturally some sites were easier to back into than others. There's enough room to back over the grass to get into a site rather than trying to make a 90 degree turn. There was occasional noise from the airport but not bad. On only one morning there was a lot of noise from I-95 which disappeared after rush hour. Verizon phone and hotspot worked well as did OTA TV. Would love to return but only to a lakeside site, not in one of the crowded interior sites. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a wonderful county park. Lots of out of town folks here for the entire winter season and fills up early! Lots of Canadians, my hubby jokes that one whole section is the French Quarter. In fact they post notices in English and French. People here are mostly friendly, but many have been coming for 20 years and they have their groups. Many sites are on the lake. Not all have sewer. Large dump station. Most sites have nice spacing, a few are fairly close to each other. Dog friendly. Area has lots of things to do, with lots of restaurants. We have stayed many times (longest 2 weeks) and won't hesitate to stay again. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

The park and the campgrounds make the a really nice place. Lots of bike trails in park. Most sites are spacious for a city environment, most are full service. May be difficult to reserve, very popular. T.V. reception good, poor wi-fi unless you're near bathhouse. Travel to beach can be a pain, must go through lake worth. Yes there is prop plane and helicopter noise but ceases at night. Hope to find a spot for 2018 We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Well run and clean. A very good value. The usual noise problems generated from Lantana regional airport, which is right behind this campground were gone this time. It seems that the US Secrete Service closes it all down with a presidential visit. So if you want quiet then come here during his visit. This is a great place to visit if you are a kayak fisherman. Good bass fishing and wildlife viewing can be found here. If you want quiet it's best to pick a spot well away from the tent sites which attract local family's who tend to be loud. Many people bike to the beach here. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice county park. The spaces are paved and level. They are spaced nicely and most have picnic tables, ours did not. All the spots seem to be back in, some for short rigs, some for longer ones. The gal in the office was really nice about finding one to suit us the best. The park is very quiet and large enough to walk around for exercise. Several people were riding bikes. There is a lake for fishing. There are a lot of other activities also. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Everything was perfect about my one night stay at John Prince Park.

The office staff was efficient and friendly. It was the first time in 9+ years however that anyone asked for my actual vehicle registration slip and photocopied it with my drivers license. Apparently they had a problem in past and started doing this.

I did not explore the park since I was visiting family in the area but it looks very nice and very centrally located. Nice quiet night, perfect.

The showers are a little unusual, located near but outside the toilets and washroom. Showers are labelled Women and men and are lockable from inside. No trash containers in either showers or washroom. Showers do not have shelf for soap, etc but do have bench seats and hooks. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

A nice campground located within a large urban park surrounding a couple of small lakes. Given it's urban location the noise level was pretty low - just a low hum from I-95 and the general aviation traffic from the adjacent airport. The campground itself was very quiet even on the weekends. Winding relatively narrow asphalt access roads (probably a lane and a half in most cases). Sites are concrete pads surrounded by grass and a good number of trees (but by no means "wooded"). Short term sites (not more than 14 days) along the water are relatively spacious with generally good views. Long term sites are away from the water and look to be very close quarters. Big rig access to a given site is entirely dependent upon your neighbors (may necessitate moving of a vehicle or two). Access roads are generally too narrow for a big rig and a car to pass. Some of the turns at the intersections can be tight and sight limited. Some of the sites need to have trees trimmed higher. Power ok (although we did have an intermittent ground problem), water ok (50psi), sewer ok. Wifi pretty much unusable - sluggish at best and very annoying with frequent logins required. Verizon and TMobile LTE good signal strength and speed. Satellite access is site dependent, but most sites appeared to be open enough. Full, two stream (paper and cardboard in one bin; everything else in the other bin) recycling on site. Lots of road bike riding opportunities in the surrounding park. We will stay here again at least in a short term site, but we're not sure about a stay in the long term sites. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a very large, gated county campground. The park is clean, but some long term coaches are in bad shape. The roads are narrow but passable. The hookups were good and we got 50+ channels using the antenna. The campground is full of geese and ducks so watch where you are stepping. The lake front sites are few so make your reservations early. We've stayed here before and will stay here again when we are in the area. I gave them an extra point because they recycle. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Motorhome.

stayed in one of the lakeside sites, which have a 2 week occupancy limit. Campground had plenty of sites available, which is typical for this time of year. Winter months will have the campground full, so if you want to camp there in Dec-Mar, you better plan on trying to make a reservation. Had a great time kayaking, and had plenty of "campground visitors"...iguanas, ducks, raccoons, egrets. This is a great county-run campground, and one that we will visit again. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure to enter campground from Congress Avenue. There is an entrance to the park on Lake Worth Road, but if you take this entrance, you will encounter a "Low Clearance" overpass with only 11 ft clearance. There is no prior warning until you get to the overpass.

Very unsatisfied with the campground. We could not rate showers or restrooms because when we went to use them they were locked up. It was a good thing we had a self contained travel trailer. The electrical boxes had wasp nests in them. The sewer caps were broken. The street light where our sites were located kept going on and off. No one enforcing rules. We had to take extra pre-cautions for our grandchildren because people were driving thru the campground fast. At one campsite they had an actual recliner sitting out at it and before we got ready to leave we seen people at the dumpsters leaving old tables, chairs and pallets. The concrete slabs are very unlevel.

We chose this campground because it was close to lion country safari but we will not return to this campground, We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 3 nights and got a site that backs right up to the water. The site map they have online is a bit misleading as to size and amount of space between campsites. We stayed in #53 and it was very nice. It is a quiet area too. All the sites are asphalt and ours was perfectly level and fairly wide. I noticed there were other sites that were even wider. All have a large picnic table. We had full hook-ups; some sites don't have sewer so be sure to review their site map or ask when calling for a reservation. We were well spaced apart from other campers. There's trees and vegetation all around as well as tame ducks and squirrels that have obviously been fed and are not afraid. Also saw bunnies, ducklings and even an alligator in the lake early in the morning. I would give it a higher rating but was dissappointed in the restrooms and landscaping. The restrooms were minimal at best. No A/C, ceiling fans, or even exhaust fans so it was very hot and stuffy in there. I didn't even want to try a hot shower. The toilets were clean enough but the sinks had not been cleaned the entire time we were there. Also, many of the sites had grass around them that needed to be mowed. They did have security that drove around occasionally which was good. We camped at John Prince Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Bring your bikes! There's lots of biking trails all around this large county-owned park. Also, try to get up to the Palm Beach area to a wonderful state park called John D. MacArthur Beach. It's about a 30 min drive north and totally worth it. Plan to stay the day. There's a boardwalk to the beach which is like having your own private area. There's kayaking, a nature center, gift shop, etc. Not to be missed!
