Perfect location. Beautiful serene beaches. Gorgeous sunsets. This is a big park. The sites are widely varied. If you are unable to make a preview visit, be sure and look at the site pictures on the the reservations page. Some say they are large, but there are lots of trees making entrance tight. Just because you have a lagoon-side site, many have a marsh between the site and the lagoon. I found the roads very tight for my 35' MH. Be sure and unhook your toad in the visitor center parking lot before you go into the campground. No sewer connections, but the water and elec were good. The bathhouses looked like they are new or recently remodeled. The beach is long, clean and without commercializations. All that said, this is THE place to stay if you go to PCB. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Motorhome.

Many of the campsites at this park are on the lagoon with beautiful water views. We had site 2 and I think it's the best site in the park. It was very spacious with lots of privacy. One morning I was able to catch an amazing sunrise from our site. It's a short bike ride over to the beach where we saw beautiful sunsets.

There is a shuttle boat to Shell Island, but it's not running at this time of the year. Bathrooms are clean and there are a couple of nice playgrounds for kids, as well as a nice fishing pier. Verizon coverage was very good. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park is kind of like a box of chocolates, if you don't visit first and look at the sites in person, you never know what your gonna get. The sites vary greatly, and if you plan to stay for more than a night or two, a scouting trip could make the difference between a mediocre and a fantastic visit. Some sites are literally gulf front, where one could fish from their site and pull up a boat if they chose to (tidal considerations notwithstanding). Some sites are really small. Some have concrete pads to park on. Majority are sand, which can make for a beachy experience in your rig, particularly if it rains. Sand makes its way to the darnedest places. It is a nice park, and a sea of calm next to the busy-ness of PCB adjacent to the park. There are beaches on the beach side of the park, but no pets are allowed on the beach. Overall, it is a really nice park, where they have tried really hard to fit as many campsites in as possible. Cell service is plenty good. Satellite is hit or miss, mostly miss because the trees, but the park would not be the same without the trees and vegetation. All the expected beach activities and lots of fresh seafood available just outside the park. Fishing charters, marinas, boat rentals, etc. all very close. Fire rings, picnic tables are provided. I believe it is all 30Amp & water hook ups only. It is extremely tight quarters on the roads and into the sites, if you have a big rig and cannot maneuver it well, go somewhere else. Lots of good birding. Tame deer walk throughout the campground. We would camp here again if in the area, but would probably scout it out first and make a list of all the really fantastic sites and try to reserve one of them if possible. There are many that are really great. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Seafood cannot get any fresher, and it is abundantly available. Never seen so many Oyster bars. We were here during the off season, and there was significant traffic in some areas at rush hour, plan accordingly. They have head boats running across the bay at Captain Andersons for about 75 dollars if one wants to go offshore and catch some dinner. PCB is a great beach area to visit.

Very nice park. The Beach is wonderful.

The site themselves could use some attention. Many are rough. Tight, with some obstructions.

Turning radius can be close.

Park was built when big rigs were 24' towed.

If you are in a rig over 34' or so call ahead and be satisfied your site will accommodate your set up.

We are in a 37' fifth wheel and will come again but only on sites we know are adequate. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Hook ups are weird as they are in site next to you on the other side of a split rail fence. Our site was about 10 feet from the water. Loved watching the birds and boats. Beach area is great. Roads could use a little work. We will stay there again when in the area. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This has to be one of the most interesting parks we have ever stayed in! First off is the location, on a peninsula to the southeast of Panama City Beach's strip. Just outside the park is condos, motels, restaurants, bars, etc. Once you enter the state park, you are in palmetto and pine forest. Check-in was easy and efficient and the staff is very friendly. The park entrance is monitored by Florida Wildlife and Fishery personnel, so make sure you have your vehicle tag with you at all times. Our campsite was right on the water of St. Andrew's Bay, and we had our own beach area behind our motorhome. Another neat aspect about the location, we watched the sun come up over the water in the morning from our personal beach behind the motorhome and then at night, we went to the state park beach on the gulf side and watched the sun set over there! Talk about awesome! The wildlife in the park did not seem to fear people at all, so be careful driving as deer will just stand in the middle of the road and not move for you. Don't miss a chance to visit this state park if you are in the PCB area. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Motorhome.

Site spacing varies considerably with some very close but others with more buffer space between. Site #132 was level gravel/sand with water and electric service but no sewer. Pretty waterfront with expansive view of Grand Lagoon from the bridge to the inlet.
Digital OTA tv reception was good for the major commercial networks. AT&T and Verizon 4G LTE service was dependable.
A short bicycle ride gave us a choice of several beaches with differing wind exposures (but it would have been a long walk to the beach). Some nice nature trails, abundant wildlife, a well-stocked camp store and very clean showers make St Andrews a real treat, especially for the price. Many restaurants within a mile or two of park entrance. Camping World about 10 miles away. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here 9 days in the off-season. Absolutely love this park! Lagoon waterfront sites have a wonderful view. Many sites are fairly private with lush vegetation between. There are a few sites that have swampy water in the margins, but in February we were not plagued by bugs. Wonderful trails are found in the back near the boat launch and around Gator Lake. In the summer season, a shuttle boat to Shell Island embarks from here. The beaches are sublime - sugar sand, emerald water, and plenty of room to spread your blanket. Very close to many restaurants and tourist fun spots. Good security, dark and quiet at night. Several bathhouses are located around the park, all very clean. I do wish the state park would consider adding a dog run area. (There's no place to let the pooch romp off leash. Even the remote beach trails are off limits to dogs.) CG hosts do a great job of keeping sites and roads clear of debris, a big job considering how many visitors this park receives. This was our second trip here and we plan to return again. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Motorhome.

The park is on a peninsula at Panama City Beach. There is lots of shade. Our site was very unlevel. It had also rained a lot and we had lots of mud in our site. It was tough walking around. Felt like the sites were very close together for a state park. The inner roads of the park are in pretty bad shape. Was disappointed in the upkeep. Lots of nice trails and access to the beach although the beach is a ways away from the camping area. We stayed here a week and it rained every day we were here. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice campground on the water (bay). Our site had 50 amp electric and water. Two dump sites available. 14 day limit like most state parks. Some sights were good for satellite, ours would pick up one bird through the trees and lost signal as the wind blew the trees. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Motorhome.

We camped here for 8 nights, and you'd think after the length of time we would have complaints. This isn't the case.

The park was clean and spacious. The bathhouses were clean and very well maintained. We watched the staff routinely close off the bathhouse for cleaning. It was, by far, the best location we have ever stayed. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Tent.

Stayed in the Pine Grove section on the lagoon and had a nice strip of our own private beach and a terrific view. Park is kept exceptionally clean by the volunteer hosts. The beach is just a short bike ride. Rangers and staff very friendly and helpful. One of the better state parks you will find anywhere. Have put this on an "A list" for return visits. We have stayed here several times in the past few years. The park is in a great location for good restaurants, bars and kids attractions, and yet being relatively isolated and secure. There are some good hiking trails, a historical attraction, a fishing jetty and a swimming beach on the park property that a lot of campers don't discover. Check around! There are quite a few sites directly on the water (bay). When you make your reservation, check the site size carefully. Some are short. Sites are a little narrow also. Access roads are narrow for backing into a site, but adequate for two cars to pass. Last year, there had been some flooding problems with some of the sites after heavy rains (which happens fairly often in Florida). I notice they have brought in sand and gravel to raise some of these low sites. Coin operated Washers and dryers are at all the bath houses.

For some reason, at their registration office, you can check the availability of a certain site, but they will not make the reservation - you are referred to ReserveAmerica to actually make or change a reservation. The staff was cordial, but all business. Campground volunteers were parked on our site in their golf cart when we arrived and were in no hurry to move, even though it made us hold up traffic. Not a big problem, just strange. Sites on the water side, and some of the others, may have trouble will satellite reception. On some of the sites, previous campers have built campfires on the sand, out of the fire ring. This makes for difficulty walking around the site and not tracking soot into your camper. But, this is a good park; I'm sure we will be back. We camped at Saint Andrews State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
