Party next to us had dogs that were kept locked up durring our entire stay and they barked too much. That was an issue. Never went to office because I am not really a complainer but other than barking, we were good. We love this place and come at least three times a year. Not retired yet so cannot come more right now. - Ramona Lyn Vincent
Aug 2017 - $50.00
This is the 2nd time we have stayed here at this campground. The campsites are very spacious with a concrete pad, level, and picnic table. We got one of the few pull thru sites. The pool and hot tub were very refreshing. This campground is very close to many restaurants and shopping. Our favorite restaurant in the area is Lambert's "The Throwing Roll" Restaurant. You are also just a few miles away from the Gulf Beaches. The one negative, is the Restrooms need some minor maintenace and a fresh coat of paint. - On the Road Again with Dave and Christie
Jun 2017 - $50.00
Park & pool area were well kept. Bathrooms needed work & aren't always clean (but they were used a lot so it would be hard to keep them really clean) park was quiet.... Didn't even see a dog until our last 2 days (we stayed 6 nites) I was told they didn't offer discounts when I paid but found out later that they do. Didn't appreciate that! - Bjsongs
Mar 2017 - $35.00
The office staff professional, not overly friendly or helpful. We were told "restrooms are closed for cleaning, sign on doors" was all that was said at check-in. Our water pressure was the worst we have ever experienced! Both sides of our site had standing water, I called the office believing there was a water leak. Someone came out and said sites 70 and 69 were always in water! Seems they could put in some top soil/sand to correct the probem especially since there is a "pond" directly across the road! However, that being said, the pond was covered with Algie and stagnant water. Mosquitos were BAD! Fire ants everywhere, husband and I were bitten many times. This is a wet campground, with drains everywhere and several "ponds" to collect surface water. Due to low water pressure we HAD to use their showers, which are unisex, and there was always a waiting line to get a shower. This campground is a SNOW BIRD campground. Mostly 5th wheels. There is a "grumpy" attitude towards those who are not. Overflow parking apparently allowed at showers/ laundry bldg. blocking foot access to building. Before our departure, there was an afternoon rain storm, we returned from shopping to find our site totally under water. We could not get out of our car with groceries on dry area. There was such a "moat" (8 - 12 inches) around us in the morning ducks were swimming right next to electrical box! The water remained until we left, making it dangerous to unplug electrical and sewer as those were in 8-12 inches of water! Called the office and were told "nothing we can do". Seems they could have put a pump out there and run the line across the road to the "pond" and drained some of the water down. The trash dumpster (s) located near one of the restrooms were always overflowing, and smelling. Laundry $1.25 for wash, $1.25 for dry with 40 minutes drying. One washer and dryer "out of service" The pool looked nice enough from a distance. - Susan Flickinger
Mar 2017 - $35.00
We stayed at this campground with our two grandsons (14 and 12). We have stayed here several times and really like it, the sites are easy to park in and are level and fairly spacious. Our main reason for staying was the basketball court and the nice indoor pool for our grands. Our only problem was their tv provider had changed to a digital only signal, we still have analog TVs so this is something they need to tell you before u get there and the wifi was terrible but....we really like the campground, its location and all the amenities so we will definitely return with a digital tv. - Ace
Apr 2016 - $15.00
We stay here for the winter months. We are about the youngest retired couple here <60. We have never had anyone keep us out of a "group" because we like to join in. There is a clique within the resort like most places. You have to make yourself get out and be someone or be a friend. We've met many nice people here and keep these friends with us all year. :-). Some of us even connect in the summer.
There are some that work on their units while they are there and maybe work on some other projects but they are not doing this at night or early in the morning. If that was anywhere near me and I didn't like it I could find something to do in town. Gulf Shores has a lot of things to keep us happy and almost never hanging around the resort. Heck we have even gone to visit the hot tub. Oh yes, it is just that. A HOT tub. It isn't jetted or a jacuzzi. Just hot and good for a soaking after a big day of bicycle riding or beaching or power walking or just visiting the sites. So put your glad pants on and select your type of fun. All pets must be on a leash. This shouldn't be a problem. If it is keep your animal at home. We know there are cats that live in the park under campers etc. Perrrr-fect for catching small rodents, not a problem. But being an animal lover I like to see domestic cats on a leash. So worried over them possibly getting hurt by those wild cats and possibly a dog or heaven for bid hit by a car. I'm just saying if my dog is on a leash then your cats must be on one also. This past winter a couple of people walked their cats on a leash. Adorable!!! Everyone take care of my winter home. If you don't like it there please find yourself another home so the next person in line can enjoy our winter functions. Thank you! - Wendybrian
Dec 2016 - $16.00
The person meeting us upon arrival was friendly and welcoming. The grounds were well kept and the sites were level. Other than that, all the facilities mentioned on the website were non-existent. There were no amenities. There was no picnic table nor fire pit. The shower and bathroom had decent fixtures but were not clean, especially the floor. We would not return. - Atnt Life Grand
Nov 2016 - $16.00
This is a very quiet park, with large sites and all concrete drives and sites. This is our second visit to this park and would choose to stay here whenever we are in the area. There is easy access to the areas around Foley and Gulf Shores, AL. - Ty and Deb
Oct 2016 - $15.00
Shady, level, concrete pad with convenient hookups. Two miles off the Baldwin Beach Express over newly paved county road. Trees in park and roads leading to park have been trimmed. - MSTraveler
Feb 2016 - $10.00
We did not stay here. Arrived and could not find the office or anyone to check us in. The road in the park was very narrow dirt and it looked like there was only two spots for over night campers, the rest were filled with mostly run down permanent dwellers, parked very close to each other. - packrat1941
Sep 2017 - $32.00
This is a nice quite park in a good location for restaurants, shopping and visits to the Gulf Shores beaches. The sites are all level and most have a concrete patio slab, my site did not. The utilities are old and dated ( no breaker box at site just receptacle) and the water connection was a ways off and was shared with another site. The cable tv worked very well, did not use wifi. One bad item was the fire ants, there were mounds every where and you really had to watch where you put your feet. Butif I return to area I would stay here again. - trav
Mar 2016 - $30.00
OK park. Close to beach. Nothing other than a park. Beach is about 5 miles away. Quiet park. Not a lot of sites. Management was scarce. Any questions, ask your neighbor. - Chickenfeed
Aug 2014 - $12.00
I stayed for a month, and its a nice basic RV park. There is cable TV and wifi, but that is the extent of the frills. I would stay again if need be but there are lots of RV park options in the area. - GopherBroke
Jul 2010 - $25.00
This place is low end. Stayed there only overnight before we packed it and found another campground. Small sites, poor connections, and a pot bellied pig that roams. Will not ever use this place again. - rsmith
Apr 2010 - $25.00
Easy off highway, right on the Intercoastal Waterway. It was neat watching the barges go up and down the canal. Lulu's (Jimmy Buffet's sister) Restaurant/Marina on other side of overhead bridge. Wal-mart 1/2 mile; Gulf of Mexico about 1 1/2 miles. Close to great restaurants, shopping, waterpark, Gulf. 9 miles to hospital. 3/4 mile to Urgent Care Center. Yes, the Route 59 bridge goes right over the edge of the campground but eventually you don't even notice it and when you're in your camper, you don't hear it at all. Unfortunately, the tent sites are right next to it but they are under the trees so I don't know how loud the traffic is there. Nothing special about this campground (no pool, no playground) except for proximity to dining, restaurants, and the town of Gulf Shores while still seeming to be "in the country". Restrooms dated but clean. Laundry good. Mostly seasonals but everyone friendly. We will stay here next year when we come to Gulf Shores and would recommend this park to others. - PennyPA
Oct 2017 - $36.00
The park is clean and quiet, has a pool, friendly staff, good rates, close to Pensacola. Necessities on site for sale, on site laundry. The only downside is the lots are grass and when it rains, it's a muddy mess. - April45
Jul 2017 - $40.00
This place is an absolute mess... its like camping in the swamps. There is water and mud everywhere and management does nothing, as the days go by it gets worse and worse. The tires on our vehicles spin every time we leave or arrive. Never have I ever stayed in such a terrible place. - rgvcamper
Jun 2017 - $36.00
We have stayed here 2 x now. The staff is wonderful, very helpful. Restrooms and showers are clean. The only negative is that the sites are sand and there is a hard rain, become extremely muddy and is slow to drain off. The staff however did provide us with loaner cinder blocks for use under our stabilizing jacks and pavers thru the mud to the door of our camper. The pool is really nice and there is a dog park as well that is well maintained. We also kept kicking our power out so they fixed the problem at the pole promptly. We will be returning soon. - Rv-annie
Apr 2017 - $36.00
This was our third visit. The park is four blocks to the beach, an ideal location for walking around town. The sites are gravel but are well-manicured. The general area is quite dry-we found cactus growing on a couple of walks-so grass isn't practical. Our site was level and easy to back in to. - AITG
Mar 2017 - $36.00
We enjoyed how close we were to all the attractions. Very noisy, and not kid friendly at all. No place to set up any games in grassy areas. The grassy area covered in pet feces. Passerbys would tell us be careful that's where all pets use restroom. Really??? - DMStraughn
Jan 2017 - $35.00
There was no tax so the cost was exactly $35/night. Efficient reservation and check-in process. All hook-ups worked perfectly. Wifi was typical for an rv park - intermittent at best. Verizon cell, Sprint Mifi and DirecTV all worked well. We loved our stay here. Everyone - including staff and fellow rv'ers - were the friendliest we've ever encountered. While many snowbirds spend several months here and know each other, they are extremely welcoming (but never bothersome). There is lots to do in the area and many conveniences nearby (shopping/restaurants/etc.). It's a short walk to the beach and a quick bike ride to Gulf State Park. Putting out a mat will help with tracking sand into your rv. We wish we could have stayed longer and hope to return one day. - GottaGoNow
Jan 2017 - $35.00
This is a very basic no frills place at a decent price. You get what you pay for. We made reservations and paid for a one month stay. We lasted a week. The campground is next to a cement plant that runs seven days a week. The noise is constant all day, beeping, trucks, loud noises of all sorts. They start at 5AM EVERY DAY, including weekends, and go until 5-530PM (half days on Sat/Sun). We could not take it anymore. This place would be perfect for someone who worked all day or was otherwise away. The other campers, most were snowbirds, didn't seem to mind or at least just tolerated it. Pros-The owners are super friendly. They converted our week stay into the daily rate and refunded the balance despite the "no refunds" policy. The free wifi is excellent. The other campers were all friendly. Sites are spacious and easy to get in/out of with our 44'. The location is close to the beach and to Foley which has restaurants and the usual big box stores. We did not use the washer/dryers or bathhouse but they both were clean and decent. - RMD3819
Apr 2016 - $45.00
Love this place. Owners are amazing. Quiet, country feel while close to everything. - Camper777
Sep 2011 - $27.00
A nice laid-back, quiet park with only 40 total sites. The owners are super nice and what a great "retreat" it is, you're close enough to Gulf Shores and lots of restaurants. You're not paying for a pool, but there are two large ponds. - homeiswhere77
Sep 2017 - $25.00
Very nice park. Grass sites with nice concrete pads. Quite level. We have been here for 3 previous Good Sam events. Lots of fun and very nice facilities. Great pool and Lazy River float.
Though we made our one week reservation months in advance and requested our favorite site, they gave it away and changed it three times. Upon check in, it had been changed again. After complaining to the Parking Host, and office, we found out it was a common practice here. If reserved for less than one month, they can, and will change your site to better accommodate long term campers. A pretty crappy policy in my eyes.
It is a long drive to the beach. There are many Campgrounds closer if you choose not to fight traffic or pay tolls to get there.
We will continue coming to this area as we love Gulf Shores, but will not camp at Johnny's. Too many nice RV Parks in the area. - Rsunde
Sep 2016 - $25.00
We were there for the AL Good Sam Rally for that week and that is why we got the rate we did. It'a clean park, with all cement pads, has a dog run, pools, laundry room and sandwich bar. However the sites are very close together and if your not good at backing into a site you will have problems. Has several full time folks in most of the pull through sites. The park is kept up nicely, no junk laying around even at the full time peoples campers. It is close to everything, shopping, food and touring Mobile, AL and Pensacola, FL. - gmasharp
Sep 2016 - $25.00
Beautiful park and sites. Back in was long and level. Grass was long, wet and not cut very often as it was too wet.
Great club house and pool facilities. Very responsive management.
Location is perfect for restaurants and Gulf Beaches.
Would definitely stay her again and recommend it highly. - Rsunde
