9 Parks near Ponce de Leon, Florida
Jun 2012 - $25.00
Pulled off the highway looking for an overnight stay. Found this park way out in the country. Beautiful setting with super friendly staff. Great diving area available along with swimming and recreation. Great, off the beat spot for family vacationing at a reasonable price. A,lot of people staying there, but surprisingly quite at night. If I ever traveled through this area again, I would not hesitate to stop. - Jeff MacDonald
Jun 2007 - $18.00
Very primitive, much sand, roads were in disrepair, sites poorly marked. It took us 50 minutes just to get checked in, staff was new and not very professional. This is an excellent Dive site, great swimming area, kind of small. We left a day earlier than we were supposed to. Hopefully they will bring this park up to standards soon. - jericbarg
Jun 2006 - $27.00
Yuk. Sites were awful. Electric boxes falling apart. Only saving grace was the swimming area. A cool spring. I would recommend staying somewhere else and day visiting because this campground is terrible. - skycop
Dec 2015 - $15.00
Very friendly staff, only a couple of nightly sites so calling would be smart to ensure a spot. I only saw 2 drive through sites and mine was long but this campground would be a better fit for smaller units, maybe less than 38 ft. Quiet setting and extremely well kept right on the lake. No sewer hook ups but they did have a dump station. Many long term rigs but it was neat and clean and well run. We will try to return and stay longer. Only a couple of easy driving miles off the freeway. - weighit
Apr 2013 - $15.00
See June 2012 review for more info. This CG is no 10, but is a very good value with Passport America. We paid $12 plus $1.50 for cable (a pretty good lineup appx. 65 stations) and tax so it was $29 for 2 nights. The Wi-Fi was very good. The area is not the best and the town like many others does not offer much. The CG itself has lots of old dated trailers, but we had no problems. Everyone pretty much keeps to themselves here. There are two sites that have side but side hookups and no sewer. The one facing the pond is not bad. We were in the other and very close to the sites on either side. These are the pull through sites and the largest. Not very big rig friendly so I would not recommend it for anything over 38'. We would stop again if passing thru the area. Overall a solid value with PA and a not a bad place for a night or two. - Bob and Inga
Apr 2013 - $12.00
Rate paid was with Passport America. Very nice little park with the friendliest owners that we have every met. Mostly permanent residents in the park with only four overnight spots. Very clean restrooms and showers. Laundry was very reasonable. Loved the park and would stay there again. - rlyons
Nov 2015 - $20.00
Great little overnight spot if you are in the area. They have a few big rig friendly sites and you do. To have to unhook your car. Owner has you call when you get off the freeway and she gives directions and mets you outside the campground. Then takes you to your spot and ensures you get level. Right on lake and you can sit on deck and enjoy the water. - Buspuppies
Mar 2015 - $19.00
Clean level gravel sites. Well spaced on gentle slope to lake. 30/50 amp service. Very quiet and private. The proprietor is very helpful and friendly. We would stay here again. - User3471
Mar 2015 - $22.00
We pulled in for only one evening but the view, friendliness as well as peacefulness of the park kept us another day. A piece of Old Florida. A lovely deck on the water with tables and chairs to sit an enjoy the lake. - Dave's Wife
Jan 2016 - $35.00
This place was not clean and very noisy. We were looking for a relaxing vacation and this place was anything but. Owners were rude and unfriendly. - Ron and Amy
Jan 2011 - $18.00
The owners have done an excellent job of cleaning up after the previous owners. Both are the kindest, most helpful and gracious owners we have encountered. Everyone is very friendly. The grounds are landscaped nicely and well kept. There are a number of long timers who are also helpful. They have added a club house for get together. Two docks available for fishing. Landing is available with a recommended $2 launching fee. The lake only allows electric motors - no gasoline. The campgrounds are literally out in the country closer to Geneva, AL than Defuniak Springs, FL. - MOexpat
Mar 2010 - $18.00
Excellent little campground! Most sites have at minimum a large deck, and some even have large protected decks including full roof over the deck and camper/RV. Full hookups available, although check the length of your wires/hoses as they can be an extra 5-15 feet away compared to other campgrounds we have stayed. Work is still being done on the campground and it looks like they may be expanding. Currently they are redoing much of the electrical but we never experienced any outages or spikes. It appears that dish network TV is available, but I am not sure about wireless, phone or modem hookups. The owners/hosts are great people, VERY kind, helpful and go above and beyond. Boat ramp close by and there is a recommended $2 boat launch fee which is definitely well worth the graciousness they provide. Excellent fishing most of the year although this year has been tough with the extended and colder than usual winter. - MikeKai
Jul 2010 - $30.00
We stayed 1 night at this campground, we followed the signs from the interstate. We had just went through a hard rain and the brake lights stopped working. Had that not happened we would not have stayed at this place. Lights had to be fixed so we stayed. No owner/manger was around. We left payment with another camper. The campground was very much in need of mowing. It worked for what we needed, but would only be a choice if we had vehicle problems. - JLitton
Apr 2006 - $20.00
We stayed here one night. Sites seemed fairly level, nothing too fancy, a little on the run down side. Owner showed us to our spot, and then left us alone. There seemed to be a lot of long termers there, but it was clean. An okay place for overnight. - Sid
Oct 2004 - $20.00
OK for an overnight. It's just a place to park, but it felt safe. No cable and cash only. A lot of road noise near the office. - Libby
May 2016 - $38.00
Very nice gated park on 2 lakes with small pool and a store. Gravel roads with wide level concrete pads. New bathrooms and laundry. Main activity is fishing. We were disappointed that there were no boat rentals as we had been promised. Had problem with barking dogs that were left tied outside all day. Owners were contacted but took all day to return and were allowed to stay. Would be better if rules were handed out at check-in rather than "upon request" to avoid this issue. Sites are very close and can be back-in or pull-in (for the lake view) which means you may be nose-to-nose with your neighbor. - IntrepidCampers
Feb 2016 - $43.00
As the previous reviewer stated this place is being totally renovated. We had a beautiful site directly on the water. At his time there are about 17 site with more opening soon. It is about 10 miles from Rt10. - Fluffy 41
Dec 2015 - $42.00
We stayed at Twin Lakes for a couple of days. The park is currently under renovation, and once it is done, it will be a wonderful place to be. Right on the lake shore, quiet and tranquil. The concrete pads are wide and level, with all new electric, water, and sewer system in place. Club house and pool is done, but the toilet and shower facilities are not yet finished. - Jensvilhelm
Aug 2015 - $35.00
Great staff, poor Wifi, and friendly campers even with lots of seasonal campers. We pulled in with a slow leak on a truck tire. They pumped in enough air to get me the 8 and 1/2 miles into town and called to tell them I was coming. Found more damage than a slow leak so we put on two new rears which we were planning to do this in winter. We stayed 2 nights and they even sent someone to our sight the first night to see if we were okay and to let them know if we needed any more assistance. We will stop here again. - Mr. Camper
May 2015 - $28.00
We enjoy this Rv resort for holiday and long weekend getaways. The owners have created a nice campground with lots of amenities.
Sites are grassed with concrete patio slabs, well maintained.
We have a 32' motorhome and have never had a problem. We have always gotten a 50 amp pull through.
Clean pool, exercise room, friendly staff and volunteers. Live entertainment on Saturday nights which was great for a local place, talent surprised us.
The full timers and those that reside in cottages Keep their places well maintained.
This weekend they had a bbq and Memorial Day ceremony.
Great place to overnight or stay a week. Our grandkids love the pool, playground and fishing dock.
Paved roads and escort to your site. Free wifi and cable. Full hook up. - Gatorgrammie
Mar 2015 - $29.00
We stayed one night in a pull thru. The level, grass site was very close to our neighbor on the hookup side, but we had lots of room on the patio side. It's a beautiful park, and we'd like to comeback when we have more time. - mrpeepers
Jul 2016 - $37.00
This was a very nice RV park. It was well cared for, the sites were shady, hookups were reliable, and cable had many cable channels. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel like they really appreciated our being there, and that they wanted our stay to be as pleasant as they could make it.
The restaurant was an added plus. Our dinner was delicious and priced very reasonably. This RV Park is one that we will visit again and again as we pass through this area. - Ed Headington
May 2016 - $31.00
This is a nice and quiet campground. we stayed there for two nights. The lots are fairly level and gravel. Several spots were shaded which was nice. Great cable TV, and we had no problems getting decent wifi. We would stay there again
The only drawback is Bonifay, FL. is one of those little towns that seems to have been passed up during a growth spurt. Not a whole lot to do in the area. - archbarb
Jan 2016 - $32.00
Park is not a resort - needs a lot of TLC - sites on the side of hill and tight for big rigs. Wifi was weak. Cable TV okay. Bright spot is the on site restaurant - The Mustang Grill - good food for reasonable prices! Great overnight stay while exiting FL on I-10! - Retired FL CSM
Apr 2014 - $20.00
The camp host is friendly and helpful, always offering to provide assistance. Stayed a total of 2 weeks. During Spring Break season was the busiest with all the sites occupied, but by the time we left it was just us and another camper beside the camp host. Walked some of trails, although some others are still under water due to flooding the previous Fall. - BubbaHut
Oct 2008 - $15.00
Small campground in the oldest state forest in Florida. It's a nice place and close to Panama City Beach. During hunting season it usually is full of hunters, but is a nice place. You can fish, hike, bring your horses to ride, or trail ride on your bike. - rdaniel911
