Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

First up, would I stay here again.. absolutely. The rate reflects the price for a week long stay. Convenient to the training sports park for the Tampa bay Rays and local amenities. 50 amp service, pet friendly, good WIFI coverage from both Verizon and the paid provider. We had just purchased our motor home and this was our first RV park location. We lived in the area and picked this park based on location and the ability to get set up in our new home. The park has excellent WIFI coverage from Verizon and 5 meg download speeds from the JABBA wifi provider which is a little pricey. No free WIFI is available at the site but free WIFI is available in the club house. The very professional & friendly staff is excellent and the park is well maintained with the streets in pretty good shape for the most part. Nice and wide for large rigs and few, if any, bad spots. The site is considered grass but most of the grass has worn away from heavy use which leaves mostly sand and dirt that is easily tracked into the coach even with an outdoor rug to mitigate for the lack of a pad. However, the site is very spacious and very well maintained with rock solid 50 amp electric and the water pressures were very good. There are a lot of permanent modular homes in this park but it is still a quiet and very safe location. No garbage pick up at the site, you have to take your garbage to a central location near the entrance. The garbage drop off site is large and it's not difficult to use with plenty of space to turn around in. Overall, this is a great park for the most part and would have received 5 stars in every category if the site had a concrete pad and garbage pick up had been provided. The price was a little high for being in April and charged as peak season which should have ended at the end of March when most snowbirds head North but that seems to be standard for Florida's west coast parks. We stayed 2 weeks. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Publix grocery store just down the road going toward Englewood on 776. In the same little shopping center is a gas station that has snacks available day and night with reasonable gas and diesel prices for the area.

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This was an acceptable park, especially since our choices were limited in the Fort Meyers area due to availability in the peak season. We had a standard back in site, dirt with concrete picnic table pad. Getting in was somewhat tricky due to the narrow distance between the power pole and keeping the door side wheels off the concrete pad to assure being level, as well as a caution not to back the trailer wheels over the buried water lines near the rear of the site. Mostly park models in our area of the park. The staff was friendly and professional. There seemed to be plenty of activities for long term residents, mainly snowbirds. The pool always seemed crowded and there were pickle ball and tennis games played at courts across from us each night. This area is not as flashy as the resort areas further south on both the Gulf and Atlantic Florida coasts, but not bad. There are plenty of eating and shopping options not far away. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an Encore park with 500+ sitrs but most are park models. There are standard, elite and preier sites for RVs. The premier are very large but all in open grassy field. We had standard site with a concrete pad for picnic table and sand parking area. Many of these sites are large. We were able to have shade most of the time and get satellite from our roof mount dish. The pool is adequate. Hot tub nice but small for the size of park. There are about 50 fulltime residents who are friendly. Staff very nice. Summer months and mosquitos make sitting side mostly uncomfortable. The roads are very good, drain good during summer storms. The park is quiet and convienent to all shopping in Port Charlotte. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We were able to use our TT membership so there was no cost at this park for our week stay. This is a nice park with wide paved streets that make it very easy to maneuver. Our site was on dirt and 30 amp only. However, it worked OK for the week. It is convenient to I-75 and easy access to Ft. Myers too. We stayed here and would definitely return here again. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is major shopping in Port Charlotte about 15 minutes away including a mall, movie theater, restaurants, Wal Mart and what appears to be a big flea market. North to Engelwood is grocery stores, Wal mart and pharmacies too. Very convenient to some restaurants too. The grocery stores are about 10 minutes away. There is a shopping mall, movie theater, restaurants and Wal Mart within 15 minutes of the park.

This is an Encore park and also a PA Park where we got the discount for 1 week. We had 50 amp long & wide site, parked on grass #144, concrete patio with picnic table, channel was behind our site. Friendly staff, there is a nice pool, clubhouse with activities, exercise room, very clean park, blacktop roads in park, a lot of Mobile homes, We would stay here again. It was very close to shopping also so there were a lot of winter people there. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Had a premium site in the Columbus St loop. Stayed for two weeks. Very nice RV resort. A mixture of park model and motorhomes, travel trailers. A favorite of French Canadians it seemed. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

HUGE sites. Very friendly park. Wide streets. Pool, shuffleboard, activities (karaoke, pot luck, wood carving, etc). Good location. Wi-Fi is an additional fee but adequate. Dog friendly but no dog park. Rate reflects Passport America discount. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wide access roads. Friendly staff. Sites are dirt except for the premium sites which are concrete. Major percentage of permanent/seasonal are French Canadians both friendly/not friendly. "The Loop" is all French Canadians. The stench of sewage is disgusting, making sitting outside intolerable. Good location for beaches on Englewood and Boca Grande. Dog Park/beach at the animal shelter on San Casa and 7th Street on Boca Grande. Since the access roads are so wide there is no feeling of being intruded on. Until "Mr Stinky" is fixed, we will not be using this resort again. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. See large sites. Extra clean club house, rest rooms and laundry room. Friendly staff. No grass, just weeds and sand spurs. Not good for dogs. Our first night we had a very poor interaction with a French Canadian woman at the Line Dance Class. She was extremely rude, told us to "move", "stop and go there". We were the only English speaking people in the class. Fortunately there were a few who were friendly. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Our site was very spacious for our 45 foot' motor home; however, along with the neighbors on both sides of us, we shared our sites with very persistent ant colonies. We asked about getting them treated and the office suggested that we call an exterminating service. The treatment their maintenance people are using does not work. The resort has much to offer for tennis, volleyball, basketball, etc. but no garbage pickup, no Wi-Fi onsite, nor cable TV. We think it is overpriced compared to others in the Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda area offering these services. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Has the potential to be a nice park, however, We stayed here for 5 months starting in Dec 2010 and we were parked in an "elite' site on the loop. More than half the time, the sewer smell is ABSOLUTELY terrible and you certainly can't think about eating outside! Also, this time of year Americans are a minority here as french Canadians take over and are the rudest bunch we ever met,but the park doesn't care as most sites are park models owned by them. These reasons will keep us from coming back and that's a shame. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The price reflects PPA & what Harbor Lakes consider an elite site. That means a concrete pad and patio. Most sites are grass though. This is our third time here and nothing has changed. I was told again this time that Wi-Fi is only available in the club house and they probably will never install Wi-Fi for the whole park due to the expense. We were told that in season the park is approx. 75% French Canadian. There is still no TV service available unless you have a satellite. The RV antenna gets you a few channels but they fade in and out. Overall, the park is clean and well maintained. If you stop here and get an elite site, watch the trees planted next to the pad as they are very close to hitting the roof of the RV. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice park with a mix of RV's and park models. Very spacious park and spacious sites. Was clean and tidy. Seem to be the preferred site of French speaking Canadians. Has a nice pool and laundry facilities. We enjoyed our stay here, and will be back. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in Feb. and liked the park and the area so we stopped again. They are now a Passport America member so it was $23 a night which included a upgrade to an elite site (concrete pad & patio). We were told the park has new owners & they may have Wi-Fi by next year but no cable TV as they are in the county & cable will not come out into the county. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. This time of year they only have about 60 full time residents so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. We will probably stop here again. We camped at Harbor Lakes RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
