Sites are tight but reasonable. Most have a nice, natural barrier between them. They are sandy and level. There are two bathrooms but we were closer to the older, less clean one. I recommend showering in the newer one but it is busier. The beach is very close and very nice. The beach was not crowded, but there were quite a few fisherman with plenty of rods taking up the shore. That's OK, though, the water was in the low 70's and no one was swimming. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Services are quite a drive so be sure to prepare. The best grocery store is in Pt. St. Joe but shopping malls, major supermarkets and discount stores require a trip to Panama City.

This is our favorite campground. 9 1/2 miles of undeveloped beach. Beach on one side and bay on other for kayaks. It is difficult to get reservations due to high demand. Sometimes in mornings you are the only ones on beach. Great, Great campground. Lot spacing is nearby with some shade. Site surface is sand, featuring a fire ring and picnic table. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure you bring what you need for week(s); shopping nearby is limited and expensive.

We were only able to get reservations for 2 nights at this very popular Florida State Park, and we moved from one campsite to another. We then put our name on a waiting list the next morning and got a spot for the third night. There are two campgrounds. The Gulf Breeze campground is right on the dunes. However, the campsites are very near each other. The Shady Pines campground is newer and better laid out. However, the walk to the beach is a tad longer. And oh what a beach! We can see why campers reserve spots 11 months before their trip. This was the only campground on our trip that did recycling, which was gratifying. The only drawback is that dogs are not allowed on Florida State Beaches. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Motorhome.

Good back-in site. Make sure when you go on line to book that your rig can fit, some sites are very small. Great beach nearby with sunsets to die for. We enjoyed the kayaking and hiking. Very limited phone coverage. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park with easy access to a fantastic white sand beach. There are two camping areas, Gulf Breeze campground which is more open and located right behind the beach dunes, and Shady Pines which is nestled in the pine forest a little further from the beach. Both have easy beach access via boardwalks over the dunes. Our site in Gulf Breeze was sand, although there are a few concrete paved sites. There is a lot of variation in site length and width, so be sure to check the size when making reservations. Restrooms and showers were clean and well maintained. We received all major networks on our TV antenna, but Verizon cell service was non-existent. The drive to Port St. Joe is over 20 miles, so be sure to bring all you need. There are a couple of convenience stores on the peninsula for necessities. We would camp here again. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This park was a wonderful beach park. Sites were small and unfinished - a sandy and dirt area tightly enclosed by plant life and trees. This provides much privacy as you cannot see neighbors. There were a lot of bugs, so we ate inside. Just enough room outside for BBQ grill and place to hang laundry. Picnic table was wet and rotted (splintered). A 5-10 minute walk down boardwalk to beautiful beach. There were howers to wash off. Nice sand, warm water, not too crowded. Friendly campers on beach, no locals. Lots of sea shells and nice waves. The spot we had was for a 24 foot RV, but we had a 31 foot ,and we fit in it. It was a little tight, but we managed. Some hints of local young Florida redneck types in campground, but not too bad. They parked their trucks on the hiking trail, and when I called the manager's office no one answered. Most people were pretty friendly though. It's far from civilization, so if you're the fifth wheel or TOAD types that like to go sightseeing, this may not be for you. Very spotty internet connection on iPhone (AT&T), and very spotty digital antenna (TV), but your situation may vary. There was also a nice boardwalk through saltwater marsh for walk/bike ride and a playground for kids. The playground was too far from our site to go to. We camped at St Joseph Peninsula State Park in a Motorhome.
