30 Parks near River Ranch, Florida
Jul 2016 - $50.00
River Ranch offers you good recreation for children. They have a zip line, rock wall, archery, fishing, etc. There is a restaurant on site that is okay. We take our granddaughters there and they enjoy all that is offered in the way of recreation. However, almost all the activities come with a cost, so it can be pricey to stay here. - har-fl
Jul 2016 - $30.00
Love the "old Florida setting" of this camping ground. Our children enjoyed horseback riding as well as the activities. There are nice biking trails for the family to enjoy along with our picnics. Great place to stay. - SanAntonTravelers
May 2016 - $75.00
I rated this campground a 9, I would have rated it a 10 if the camp store wasn't so expensive. We bought a quart of milk at $5.00 and 2 pastries at $4.50 each. The biggest problem was that the pastries were old and we couldn't even eat them.
Now for the park.
We were on the water in space 448. The reason they gave us that spot is because they said it had shade. It did not. 449 had the shade. The grounds are immaculate. All RV spots are individually owned, so each spot can and will have different amenities. The RVs share the property with Westgate timeshares. They can't use the RV amenities and we can't use theirs. Everything that Westgate offers has a cost such as the rodeo, the entertainment areas; miniature golf and so forth. They have a petting zoo which is free. The workers at the petting zoo really take pride in the animals. When I talked to the 2 guys that were working it you could tell that they really wanted to be there. The pony ride was $5.00 per child and it was a really long ride. 3 of my kids did archery and that was $8.00. The rodeo was $17 per adult and $9 per child. We enjoyed ourselves very much. There had to be 500 people there. The performers were very talented. They had barrel races, bull riding, and horse skills. The kids participated in the calf scramble, which was hysterical.
The sites on the water have a pier at each spot. we had a porch swing. There is a separation from each space by foliage. You don't feel like you're on top of each other.
The RV spots that were not on the water seemed like you were in a forest. The trees were so old and there was Spanish moss hanging from them.
The 2 pools and hot tubs that are available to us seemed to be adequate, however the park wasn't very crowded.
The bathrooms and 3 laundry rooms were very clean.
The closest town is almost an hour away, so make sure you have everything you need before getting there.
Most of the people there are owners and everyone was friendly. - sflabrkr
Jan 2013 - $24.00
Park is mostly full time occupied old trailers and park models. Even though we had reservations for our 32 foot motorhome, the sites they showed us were next to the trash and would never fit our rig. In fact we couldn't even drive on the street that lead to the office. This is not an RV Park it is more a trailer park. - LMur
Mar 2012 - $21.00
We were welcomed by all the people that not only worked here but other campers. Very nice and clean, love the oak trees. Nice place to stay and relax, and the fishing was great as well - tennup60
Mar 2012 - $45.00
What a lovely campground. The staff was very helpful and nice. Just a beautiful setting. - smileyann45
Feb 2017 - $38.00
Excellent park. Owners treat you like family. Small park which I like more personal service and you get to know everyone. Very friendly. - Caref
Feb 2017 - $25.00
This is an older park that advertises a heated indoor pool, which is very musty and cold. It has a large number of permanents who think they own the park, cut through your lot like you have a sidewalk. The owners are not willing to do anything about it.
The sites are smallest I have ever seen. The roads are cramped and difficult to maneuver. I had to get my neighbor to move his truck so I could get out.
Suppose to stay 6 months left after 3. Washrooms are clean but very old and in need of work. I would not recommend this park - janel323
Aug 2014 - $28.00
Owners very hospitable. Got a pull-through up front and it was barely long enough to fit our rig. It was OK as I did not need to unhook. The laundry was very nice and inexpensive. They even had an outside clothes line for drying. The indoor pool was dark and damp. Not what I expect in sunny Florida, so we did not use it. I never did see anyone use it. Nice library. - Libby
Jan 2012 - $13.00
Rate reflects a 3 month commitment. This was our first time staying and we spent the winter (Jan-Mar). This is a 'community' park in the sense that everybody is family. Sites are spacious, activities are age appropriate, new-comers are welcome--we didn't want to leave when the time came and we've already reserved our space for Jan - Apr 2013. - Lonnie Clark
Sep 2010 - $29.00
It is one of the parks with the cleanest restrooms and showers we've been in. We're full-timers for 5 years now. This is the 2nd time we've stayed here. Highly recommend it. - Marybeth5613
Aug 2010 - $28.00
Good value for the money. The restroom, shower and laundry room are five star. Good location and a nice pool. Would stay here again. - DanMain
Jan 2017 - $20.00
We stayed 2 nights at Lake Kissimmee State Park and will definitely do it again as we live fairly close.
We found it to be quite enjoyable; it's off the beaten path, very large (the park itself) and has nice private camp sites with plenty of room. Most sites are compacted crushed shell and sand, very level with plenty of room for a screen room or tent plus chairs and whatever else you bring. They each have a fire ring and picnic table. Some sites (maybe 15 %) have concrete pads (I guess for Handicap access or large rigs). The bathroom/shower facilities are very close no matter what site you have and very clean.
We are bike riders and absolutely loved the hiking trails. There are 2 trails that are each 6+ mile loops with many connector trails. These loops are very well marked and they provide a nice accurate map. The Trails are mostly wide pine forest with few roots and some sandy places but very few places that might require you to get off your bike and walk it. We loved riding them! We saw many deer while out. Also, do check out the Cow Camp, it's a slice of FL history.
On weekends, the lake is awash with Airboats, so you can pretty much constantly hear them roaring in the background, but we found it to be pretty benign, kind of like having a railroad track nearby.
There is no wifi except at the "general store" and cell coverage is very spotty, but for a weekend getaway, that's perfect. - ToddAndMarge
Nov 2016 - $20.00
We stayed 3 nights at this wonderfully isolated park. You will need to bring everything with you as not much is available close by. There are many hiking trails. We hiked a couple trails along with some exploring other areas. The observation tower has a great view of the lake. Fishing is allowed on the porch of the General Store. There are canoe and kayak rentals available. Check out the old Cow Camp on Saturday. We had a bobcat with 2 kittens and deer visit our campsite in the evening. Our site was under a couple big oak trees with lots of shade. We had no trouble backing our 22 ft trailer. The was some noise from air boats in the background. - Big Gator
Mar 2016 - $12.00
We stayed 2 nights. This park is very isolated and has a nice boat ramp and hiking trails. We hiked one trail that was a little over 2 miles long and climbed up the observation tower for a wonderful view of the lake and park! You can fish in the boat ramp area and around the day use pavilions. You should have a Florida fresh water fishing licence. They have canoes and boats for rent. Make sure you bring everything with you and gas up before you get to the park. We had wild turkeys and 2 deer visit us right behind our trailer both mornings. The sites are all under big oak trees with lots of shade. The loops are not too tight. There were some big rigs parked there. I had no trouble backing our 25 ft travel trailer in. We could not put our awning out which was fine, we didn't need it as the weather was perfect! The air boats are loud but background noise for a few minutes does not bother us. - RV Dreamer
Jun 2015 - $40.00
We have stayed at this campsite a few times with multiple families and though it is a nice clean location I would give it a good rating.
The sites a fairly sized and it has two sections, one area is shaded and one is an open parking lot.
The staff are always friendly and accommodating but we prefer more wooded areas.
The pool is nice and clean and it's quite at night minus the airboats that go down river.
They hold fishing tournaments here and they are always interesting to see. - Senora Frog
Sep 2014 - $42.00
10 miles in off Rt 60 on a paved road. Very nice office staff. Got a paver site with lots of shade. Cable is $5 extra so I used the sat. The pool is there as advertised and not impressive [not a bit of shade]. The grounds are huge and well taken care of. The lounge was fun. State park entrance close by. Pricy for summer rates. May stop again. - Libby
Sep 2011 - $39.00
Great place! We visit Camp Mack several times a year. It is both a Summer and Winter campground. We camp with 3-5 families each time. Staff is very accommodating and nice. Highly recommend! - elbar21
Dec 2012 - $23.00
We stayed here for one month in a full hook-up site. We paid $525, which included 50 amp service and 30 days worth of Wi-Fi. The site we had (R-28) was a wide, corner site having some palm trees. It took some maneuvering to get our 40+' fifth wheel in, but, we managed. This park is 90% manufactured homes and/or trailers converted into homes (i.e. carports; sheds; residential AC units; etc). Some lots are kept up better than others. The transient sites are scattered throughout the park; the bulk of them being in front near the entrance. They have two pools (one which was heated to 80+ degrees). The laundry facilities were dated; but, adequate. The interior roads are level and paved (everyone uses golf carts to get around). We encountered many friendly people (most of whom were over 60). Would stay here again. - Shin
Mar 2016 - $42.00
Very nice place with very large sites. Lots of friendly seasonal people that lease their lots and really keep them nice with grass and plantings etc. The RV area was very quiet. Lots of place for the dogs to run in 3 fenced areas.
Mix of 5th wheels and MH's in the RV area. Park models and mfg. houses in the other. Good WIFI.
The campground owned sites and areas could use a few $ spent to spruce it up a little but otherwise no complaints. - az99
Feb 2016 - $30.00
Not overly friendly, a lot of regulars here year after year. The sites are set up for lease. Most all the sites are on lease. There are some monthly and because of 2 year lease you don't find you are invited. They do have activities that are nice. The big problem is that you are 15 to 20 miles to the nearest food store. Walmart is 16 miles away. If you have pets they have a nice dog area, but you can only do it there. No street walking. WiFi is free, but very weak. Could not even check emails at times. One other thing, if you get a site have it sprayed for Fire Ants. It costs 30.00 dollars. Worth every penny, good for 3 months. - Puppy2901
Dec 2014 - $27.00
The $27 nightly is because of a months stay. Very nice park, lots of activities, and everything very well taken care of. One of the better fitness centers I've used. Everyone very friendly. My only negative is that it should have WiFi (I used my Verizon) & cable TV included in rent instead of having to contact an outside provider. Although a small thing, it would also be nice to have a concrete parking pad. There are so many park choices in FL, that we would probably try another before returning. - Mariner
May 2015 - $22.00
Our rate is based on a monthly stay. We were in the area checking out wintering locations. This park is tops in the area. Pool is excellent size and the whole place is paved except the actual lot you park on is gravel. There is a paved patio and driveway to each site though. Mangers were very nice and accommodating. They have a pot luck monthly that the campground supplies Hamburgers and Hotdogs for. Laundry room is the largest we have seen. 10 Miles either direction you are in a major area with lots of stores and restaurants. Campground is 50% full time residents but there sites are beautiful and kept up. They also made us feel right at home and were not standoffish at all. We will definitely be returning as we made winter reservation for next year. - Lifetraveler
Jul 2012 - $60.00
I stayed here for a week while visiting family in the area. All of the facilities were neat & clean and were obviously well-maintained. The pool was a refreshing retreat for some exercising and cooling off after a long, hot day. My space was large and level, with a clean concrete patio and full hook-ups (50-amp). There was plenty of space between my site and my neighbor. Everyone I met was friendly and happy. I had such a nice time here that I am considering spending a few months here this winter. I recommend this park. - bcbounders
Nov 2011 - $40.00
We have stayed in the park for the last few years and in my opinion there have been improvements made constantly. The new clubhouse is excellent which includes an exercise room, new restrooms and showers which are very clean. We stayed in a motorhome and will return again. My only concern was the cold pool but and I think it has finally been repaired. A very clean park and I would recommend it for a long or short stay. - Donbren
