Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $20.00
We stayed for the season, so rate reflects seasonal discount. Park is located right off I-95 at Fisk and Barnes Blvds. Easy access when there is no road construction, once the constructions on Barnes is completed access will be easier than prior to construction.
The park is now owned by Encore; the transition taking place in Oct/Nov 2014. Park is small with mostly one way NARROW roads. Markings for the one way streets are not good, consequently many people, especially those new to the park go the wrong way. There are many low spots throughout the park so when it rained they flooded and held water for days. Once the water evaporated the ground was still squishy, I don't believe it ever fully dried out from Oct to March.
The maintenance guys are friendly, but overworked. The office staff is not friendly at all. In our 6 years of living the mobile lifestyle, we have never come across a campground with such unfriendly office staff. They do not answer the phones; you must leave a voice mail. They only return calls if you are making a reservation or owe them money for your stay. (We weren't the only campers with this problem.) They do not greet you when you enter the office. If you don't say anything to them they won't talk. They do give you the stare, almost like daring you to speak first.
Electric bills were not ready in a timely manner although the maintenance staff was reading the meters monthly. We asked every month and were told over and over by the office staff that the bills weren't ready due to computer problems. The end of Feb they were finally ready, so everyone was hit with a huge electric bill that was due in 3 days. Electricity is charged at $.29 KWH which is double what most of the parks in the area charge. The office staff could not provide the monthly meter readings when asked, we had to go to the manager to get them.
Speed limit within the park is 5 MPH but no one enforces it. Dog poop is an issue, many pet owners walk their dogs and won't pick up after them. The park provides two nice dog walk areas but campers are not adhering to pet policy.
I guess I'm not sure what constitutes a "resort", but in our opinion this is not a resort. There is a small pool and spa, a shuffle board court, and two meeting areas. The homeowners association plans and organizes most of the events. There is a seasonal fee of $4.00 per person to join the association and most events have a minimal fee to attendees. Office staff rarely attend the events.
Wi-Fi is slow, as with many parks during their busy season. We ended up using our own hot spot most of the season due to the frustration so don't count on the free Wi-Fi unless you want to get on at 2 AM.
The beauty salon, Mane Control, is operated by an experienced beautician, providing both men's and women's hair cuts. Excellent cuts, friendly atmosphere, best prices around! They also provide nail service, we did not use this service.
Rates for 2015/16 have increased. Minimum stay during season, November - April, is 2 months at $880 monthly, plus electricity. Seasonal rates are increasing to $3,33o.
In short, we will find another park for our next seasonal stay within this area. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Publix and Aldi grocery stores are within 1 mile. Viera with lots of good shopping and restaurants is less than 5 miles.
Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $54.00
This was our 3rd choice to find a spot in the area and they were full so could only allow us 6 nights. We did wonder why they claimed to be filled as there were always spaces open. It is very convenient to most of the area attractions. Entry and roads are paved and the entrance has plenty of space to unhook toad which must be done to get into back in spaces. Staff are friendly and escort you to site and guide you to backing up which we appreciated. Space was gravel but level and as an older park tight for our 41 ft coach and slides. We were backed up to a fence along a residential area. There was some noise at times from local traffic. Lots of construction going on in the area and the Barnes Rd access is easy to miss on arriving off the interstate, as we did. We maneuvered thru the Lowe's lot which is nearby but difficult crossing back onto Barnes from there. It would help if the person who booked us on the phone had alerted about the Barnes Road turn. Many permanent park models occupy half the spots. The pool/spa is very small and was always so crowded that I did not use it. Daily trash pick up at site was a nice amenity. Apparently some "elderly"people have been going here for years and book up the sites for the season. People seemed friendly. Nice roads for walking all through the park. There is a clubhouse which had a dinner event but we were leaving the next day and did not attend. Likewise a breakfast on Saturday morning's is not convenient for those who have to check out, likely a good amenity for those who are staying a longer time. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Next to Lowe's. Convenient to grocery shopping down the street. Jimmie's at the golf course across Barnes is an excellent, established local restaurant with generous portions of food reasonably priced. Easy driving to Kennedy Space Center and all attractions.
Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $50.00
A beautiful campground and very busy this time of year. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rain was pouring down when we arrived and a gentleman took us to our site and helped us back into our spot which was one of the last 2 or 3 left. All the campers there were friendly and waved as we arrived and left a few days later. Bathrooms and showers-spotless. Laundry facilities are well maintained as well as the grounds. They even pick up your trash bags if you leave them out front by 9 am. Great place to stay, short or long term!!! We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.
Shopping very close. Lowes is right next door which is great if you need any repair items. Good restaurants and plenty of variety.
Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $39.00
Nice clean park, fair number of semi-permanent mobile homes here, so not a lot of sites for RV's passing through. The roads are paved but a bit narrow, and the sites are crushed gravel but level. We didn't have any issues with our pull through site. They do have pet weight restriction (35lbs) and aggressive breed restrictions. We called since we have two labs and they made an exception because it was their slow season. We did see a few dogs over the 35lb limit so I guess they do make exceptions regularly. I'd consider them to be more dog-neutral than dog-friendly. You cannot walk your dog through the campground, only in specified dog walk areas. We were placed near the back of the campground since our dogs were over the weight limit. Our closest area was actually outside the fenced campground right by the rain runoff. No pens allowed either. Front office is very friendly and helpful. Trash pickup is once a day around 9:30am. No free WiFi at campsites, only in the office. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: May, 2014 - $38.00
Paved interior roads; sites gravel. Very clean and well-maintained. Workers out and about every day. Office staff most helpful. Utilities good. Many permanent sites, but plenty of room for transients. Stayed here for two weeks between house moves. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $41.00
Stayed one week and then decided to extend to two because we liked the park and the area so well. We asked for a pull-through site but were refused one because "we were staying too long"?? The back-in site we were provided (G1) was great. Only downside was that the security light on Manager's house next door. So bright it lit up the interior of our coach like day even at night. I would stay here again. Good access to shopping, I-95, and local roads. Nice folks. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: March, 2014 - $41.00
Clean, well maintained campground. Paved roads, lots of grass. Convenient location while visiting the area. Would stay again if in the area. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: January, 2014 - $48.00
Very helpful staff, level site, and great time with other folk at the resort. Lots of activities and many "snowbirds" while we were there. Amenities were always clean and functional. We extended our stay to a fortnight. We plan to return next year. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: October, 2013 - $45.00
This park is "way" to pricey for what is offered, both in amenities and in parking sites. To call this a RV park with 300 sites is not even close to what is actually available. I can't say just exactly how many sites are available to transits, but I would guess that 75% of the park is filled with park models. The RV sites are poorly maintained and extremely narrow (I did not even have room to put my awning out). That said, some of the sites are well shaded, as ours was, but that negates any chance of satellite reception without a portable antenna. I would say that some sites will be difficult to level the coach or trailer, but we were able to accomplish it in our narrow poorly graveled site. There is no Wi-Fi, no cable, and depending on your rig, you'll need at least 30 feet of sewer hose to reach the in ground sewer hookup, which, I might add, is raised about a nine inches above ground making it impossible to hook up your hose for drainage without lifting it well off the ground. We were unable to get our sewer hose high enough, therefore I had to drain it by hand so the grey water would not back up into the tank. The pool is as you would expect, small. The ladies in the office were friendly and helpful, but if I were them, I have a tough time asking $45 for a night's stay. We spent three nights here, taking care of business in the area, and during that period, saw no other RVs enter the park, although, did see one being "towed" out. Again, way to pricy for what is offered, and we would not stay here again except for the convenience of having to be in this area for business purposes. Date of Stay: January, 2013 - $50.00
One of the nicest parks we have visited. Very clean and well maintained. Abundant trees and shade but strategically pruned so as not to be intrusive. Many park models and seasonal residents and all seemed cordial. The guys who escort people to their sites are very competent. The overall experience is restful. There is a small amount of traffic noise but not distracting. Gripes: no cable TV for those staying less than a month, Wi-Fi not available at sites, and once a morning garbage pickup (taking your own garbage to the dumpster at your convenience is not allowed). Daily rate is $50 with Good Sam discount. So...pricey but nice and we really enjoyed our stay. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $50.00
This park is under new management. Still too pricy, but we are here to visit family and it's convenient. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: November, 2011 - $48.00
Stayed one week it is in a good location but way to pricey for what they offer. Had a pull through site but was real close to my neighbor. With a 40' rig it was close trying to park behind it. People running the park not real friendly. Mostly snowbirds staying here so didn't feel welcome as wasn't part of the group. Would not stay here again. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $55.00
Nice park, but not a $55 a night park. Roads were paved, sites were good, wide with grass. Most sites had unoccupied rigs, owners had gone back home, only a few overnighters here. We would stay again. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: January, 2011 - $50.00
This is a beautiful campground and kept very clean. All the staff are helpful and friendly. It is way over priced!!! For two weeks the cost is $50 a night with only Wi-Fi in the office - no cable. Propane is about 40% more than in town. We will not stay here again. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
Date of Stay: April, 2010 - $14.00
Rate reflects monthly rate and does not include electric. Level gravel pad. Roads into the parking area are not wide, but plenty of space to get parked. Quiet area and neighbors. Would stay here again. We camped at Space Coast RV Resort in a Motorhome.Undo
