9 RV Parks near Sanderson, Florida
May 2017 - $9.00
We chose Ocean Pond as a overnight camping stop on our way home from Myrtle Beach to Shalimar, FL. A bit off the interstate but a must stop as my husband grew up near Ocean Pond and has always been pleased with their accommodations. Both sets of Camp Host were so pleasant and helpful.
Ocean Pond is off the beaten path but worth the stay. Bring your mosquito spray and sunscreen. Lots of both but hey it's camping. Very quiet and peaceful. I sat outside early this morning and could hear the train choo choo along side Hwy 90. - TravellerLott
Dec 2016 - $4.00
Beautiful National Park Campground. We secured a primitive site at last minute so used our generator. There were spots right on the lake that had electric and water. Our Verizon lte worked well. Didn't try our satellite, was only in park overnite. Would definitely return and stay longer. - smitty12
Nov 2016 - $6.00
We were right next to the water on an electrical site. (Sites 1-19 had power.)
The site was huge!
There was a dump station as you were coming into the camp. There was also fresh drinking water available to fill your tank.
The bathhouse was clean & the showers were superb. Good sized, 4 hooks & a bench to sit on. Unmetered hot water.
Bugs were not a problem.
The electrical sites had a $4 surcharge for electricity so the America The Beautiful rate was more than the usual 50%. - becida
Oct 2016 - $12.00
This is a Moose Lodge, so you must be a Moose member to stay here. We grabbed a site by the lake. We have 50 amp service and water. We have an excellent view of the Watertown Lake. It is only $12.00 a night. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax, so can you a nice place. There is some type of shooting range nearby, because you hear gun fire all day long, everyday. There is also a railroad track nearby and you hear the train. It does not bother us, but it might someone else. The lodge is still a smoking lodge as of now, so that might also bother some people. It is not a bad stop-over place for $12.00 a night. It would be a nice place if you have to work in the area and need a place to park your RV. - Cliff-fa-fa
Oct 2017 - $34.00
This is a campground that was either converted from a KOA or is darned close (the signage and coloring are almost exact). We arrived late but the people were still in the office, very nice folks. The office is open 8-10, then from 2-7, so if you call for a reservation leave a message.
It was a functional stop for us. The sites themselves were not very level and is partly grass but fine enough for an overnight stop. The coffee in the morning was a godsend! This campground seems to be a stop-through for most folks who stay there, at least in the front. There is a back part where there are some rundown rigs. Our fire pit was full of cigarette butts, but not something we used. - Kamnel
Aug 2017 - $35.00
Rather run down looking. Long pull thru. Pool not usable (green).. tall grass, lot of residents, OK for one night. - Dutch Star 40
Jun 2017 - $32.00
Nice little campground. Reminded us of a KOA with the spaces for tent camping and all of the little cabins. We only stayed the night coming from FL to KY, and we would stay here again. Nice pull-thru spot with a mix of blacktop and grass. You do need to put blocks under the jacks, but they had blocks provided at all of the spots we saw. Good for setting up the DirecTv sat. We would stay here again! - Nekkidfish
Jan 2018 - $36.00
Beautiful place to stay for over night or longer. The pull through sites are concrete, but a little narrow. Clean, pet friendly. Easy to access, right off the highway, but quiet. Well kept. They were able to work us in, after there was confusion with another campground down the street with a similar name. Lots of amenities, but no pool. We'll come back. - Lbctm
Sep 2017 - $36.00
Right off I-10, approximately 6 miles East of I-75. Easy on & off I-10, roads in are fine. Check in was easy, manager was friendly and helpful. Internal roads are gravel, but fine. Our site was long, pull thru, grass, full hook up, open to the sky with a small patio and picnic table. Our site's picnic table was broken. The sites are narrow, center is level, however the edges are higher as we had trouble extending our steps without hitting our patio or grass. Our right slide was slightly hanging over the next site's patio. We got great satellite reception, and wifi was fine.
This is an old Florida park that has had some recent upgrades. Laundry room was in a separate little house in the middle of the park. Laundry room has 4 washers & dryers. Newer, and efficient. Wash 1.50, dry 1.00, very clean!
We came in right after Hurricane Irma, and the internal roads were cleared of debris. The maintenance crew was out the two days we were there taking care of the trees, debris as well as cutting the grass. Conveniently placed trashcans & dog waste stations located around the park. They empty them every day. The grounds are maintained.
There is two small ponds with a warning on alligators (that's a given in Florida). A small fenced dog park, as well as green areas to walk dogs. Small, quint, very clean clubhouse with pool table, coffee station, book library. There is also a picnic pavilion and horseshoes.
It's a good park, located close to major highways, just needs to be updated as far as making some sites wider for today's big rigs. Our RV neighbors were quiet. There is an area of full timers, but they appear to maintain their sites. The park is along one side of I-10, therefore heavy traffic noise. The AC & fans buffer the noise but you can hear it, but didn't bother us. - KKColorado
Sep 2017 - $40.00
We stayed here for one night as we evacuated for Hurricane Irma. The staff was very friendly. Sites were close together but we didn't have much noise. The public restrooms & showers (2) were very clean & the showers were wonderful! Nice public space with pool table, coffee, & snacks. We tried to get in again while heading home but they were full. - Penny20100
May 2017 - $20.00
We wanted to stay at NAS JAX but they were full. They advised we try the Equestrian Center and we called. THAT is the difficult part. It was hard to reach the right person and then, I was told to fill out the form on their web site and submit. On the form, you not only request a site, but also provide your credit card info. They then contact you by email to let you know about availability. This is a center for horse shows and other events, so they may be full. We were lucky. However, I never received confirmation and called a number of times before finally reaching the RV coordinator (who has many other tasks.) I was told security would have my info at the gate and give me a pass. Security did have a card for the RV but no idea what site. I then had to find someone to come and turn on the electric for whatever site I picked. ALL the staff were polite and helpful; they just are not used to campers coming to stay who are not associated with the events at the center. The sites are large, gravel/grass, fairly level, and well laid out. There were a number of other rigs, all associated with the horse event for that weekend and by Monday AM, we were the only RV in our area. There is a large community indoor heated pool on site and cost is under $2 per person to use the facilities. It was NOT scenic and there are no other amenities available, but since we were visiting family, we did not spend a lot of time there. Biggest problem may be making contact and making payment if you are just traveling through. However, if you are planning to be in the area, consider making reservations in advance and chatting with Candice (RV coordinator) ahead of time to get your site and be assured of a place. - Too-wow
Mar 2016 - $20.00
Just the homeowners front yard in a quaint, little town, but a nice, quiet, place to stop for a day or two. We were passing through the area in our 45 foot motorhome and wanted to spend a couple of days away from all the hustle, bustle, and children who are now apparently out on spring break. This place has no pool, no playground, or anything to lure family campers to their facility, but the place is clean and the owners are friendly. There are 12 sites along the edge of the owners front yard and most are fairly level. We didn't have problems leveling, and the 50 amp was clean and stable. Water and sewer also were sufficient, and the others staying here were quiet and friendly. If you are crossing the state in this area and are looking for a quiet place to stay for a budget price, look no further. - WhiskeyMan
Feb 2009 - $15.00
For a small park in the boondocks we were very pleasantly surprised. The RV park is actually a very large grass front yard to the owners house. Along one side of the yard (really a field) is a row of 12 RV spots. Some have trees, others do not. Some have concrete pads, others do not. The Passport America rate makes this park a real value. We would stay here again. But don't be looking for the clubhouse, pool, or Jacuzzi. :) - jwillie44
Jan 2018 - $46.00
Very clean sand spacious the staff was helpful and very friendly. Needed propane when I got there and was surprised at the low price and I didn't have to wait to get it. They escort you to your site and show you the hookups. - jamie1
Jan 2018 - $22.00
Very friendly staff. Escorted to site. Entire place clean and tidy. Clean laundry room. Level sites. Good OTA TV station reception. Good Verizon reception. This was my second stay here. I did give a 9 because there are few trees and the sites are very close with no privacy screen of any type between sites. - camper19709
Nov 2017 - $30.00
Nice stay for a week, the staff was great - many snowbirds in the park and they have several activities each week for all. I enjoyed the pancake breakfast, there was a donation only Cable and all utilities were great - laundry room was very clean. - rr2254545
Feb 2018 - $25.00
A little skeptical because of a previous post, but found this to be a great overnite stay. Management very friendly and helpful, huge area to park out 38 foot toyhauler and dually. 30 amp in the late arrival area was fine as we only needed one air conditioner, Easy on easy off. Could not have been any better for us. We will be making this our stop on our way to south Florida from Baton Rouge. - Ronnie7918
Dec 2017 - $29.00
Staff member at check-in was extremely rude on multiple occasions. Electric pedestals must be switched on in office with no circuit breaker on post for user. This is a safety hazard and may also damage coach; we blew circuit breakers despite surge guard in line when office threw the breaker on in the office after we had already connected to post.
Facilities are clean. Many permanent/semi-permanent trailers, etc. in this park. Those sites are extremely close to one another. Central grassy area has very long pull through sites that are used for short term stays. This area was easily accessed with our 40 ft. rig. This Laundry area, bathhouse, and other buildings appeared clean and maintained. Some overhead branches in driveways need to be trimmed to avoid scraping coaches and tall fifth wheels. Beware overhanging branches at both entry and exit.
We will not return due to the rude treatment and unsafe electrical pedestals. - SuzanneH
Oct 2017 - $27.00
Campground is right off Main Florida interstate 75 to Disney World, Orlando. WiFi only when sitting at the office using the office WiFi. Other campers complained about this to us as well. Campground wifi supposedly limited by users. So unless there are only two campers don't check in.The small narrow sites are level and ours was shaded. Our awning couldn't go out all the way. We saw others almost touching the neighbor's. 50 amp extra charge...box night light burned in two, 30 amp is old. Only one shower and 2 toilets. The exercise room...only air conditioner is a wall unit that isn't on until someone goes in thus waiting to cool down before using mostly outdated rusted equipment. All equipment shoved in one half of the room literally no elbow room. Looked more like the equipment is in storage. Several cats roaming the office bathroom area. Office gal wasn't mean, but not very helpful or personable. The fella showed us to our site and drove off. We travel a lot and this is one of the very very few we wouldn't return to. If you want a pull through one nighter this might be okay for the price. - Rgke4
Nov 2017 - $39.00
Site, water, 50 amp power all good. Sewer screw in threads totally stripped, unable to lock in sewer connection. No cover for open pipe hole of any kind. Cable TV listening is not what you get. Went to office, they said they drastically reduced channels to save money. Political channels, pay per view (4 channels), no local news, no national news, no weather. History channel, HGTV, assorted others. Laundry had 1 washer, 1 dryer in a dark very dirty small room. Bathrooms have a yellow caution tape "do not enter". I walked the park, many "permanent" RVs of various states of repair. One local "resident" said the park was for sale and a motel chain was interested. Park is across the busy highway from major national restaurant chains. - RWeis
Sep 2017 - $39.00
I read the reviews before staying but stayed anyway because it's within walking distance of many restaurants. Don't. This place is awful. Lots of 'we're livin in it' units. We had spot 1 right at the front. No way was I walking to bathhouse in the back. Keep driving. - WannaGoSoon
Mar 2017 - $35.00
The site was level and sandy. No table. Cable worked fine but no internet. Bathroom had two of three toilets out of order and third filthy. Would not recommend or stay again. - sonofabaker
