Campsite was a little small, but private with fairly thick vegetation between sites. Roads within campground were "gravel-like" and were very tight allowing for little room to back into site. Lots of overhead branches to avoid, but overall a nice park with a very pretty, private beach with white sand dunes. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Spent one day driving along the "Emerald Coast" stopping to see Navarre Beach, Fort Walton, and Destin.

We rode bikes along Santa Rosa beach and also within town of Seaside, which is a nice quaint village located close to the park.

We stayed in the "old" loop. More rustic feeling, but still nice. Gravel loop vs asphalt of the other loop. More privacy and shade. Sites are level, shaded, sand. Six-18 have partial Western Lake view. Facilities are good, staff is great. Beautiful beach with a dune hiking trail. Plenty of asphalt for biking/jogging exercise. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the dune trail, enjoy the beach and picnic facilities at the beach area. Kayak of paddle board on Western Lake. If you are into biking/hiking there is a great paved path running east/west along the main hwy. Only about 2 miles to WaterColor and Seaside, a neat resort and village.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park with lots of bike and hiking trails and short distance to private beach with beautiful white sands and a nice bathhouse. Small park, maybe 60 sites, no sewer in older loop. The newer loop has sewer hookups, but no shade at all. I would recommend the older loop since all sites are a short walk to the bathhouse and have nice shade. One washer and dryer is located outside bathhouse. A big lake between campground and beach is good for canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding and if the wind is good, kite surfing. Reserve well in advance. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Beach, hike, fish, bicycle. Lots of little shops. Very bicycle friendly area with bike lanes which makes it more safe and fun. Take a day and bicycle or drive to the town of Watercolor for food stands and shopping.

The beach is beautiful, especially at sunset. Bring you beach chairs and favorite beverage and relax.

Outlet mall shopping about 18 miles away in Destin.

Stayed here for one week in February. Some sites have cement pads, others are pea gravel; ours was gravel. Some sites have water, electric, sewer, as ours did. Some do not have sewer. Park was very clean, very quiet, very pleasant. Would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful State Park with over a mile of ocean beach frontage. The campground is by a lake but within walking distance of the ocean. Very peaceful. Large level lots, some paved, but most with fine gravel. It is a fairly small campground and lots 32-59 are the nicest as they have water, electric and sewer hook-ups! Very friendly and helpful employees, too. It's not hard to find but the entrance is pretty easy to miss in the dark as the sign is not lit up. We would definitely come back here. The park has a few canoes to rent and you can fish in the lake. It's a nice walk or bike ride to the beautiful, clean and peaceful beach. Lots to do and great places to eat in Panama City, about 30 minutes away or Destin, about 45 minutes away.

LOVED it here...sites were big and you could walk to the beach. Bring your bike as they have a biking path along I 98. Seaside within walking / biking distance with restaurants & Public. Very nice place...would have loved to stay longer here, but they were booked up for the week between Christmas & New Years so we could only get 2nights. Very tranquil & great for dog walking. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

As mentioned in previous reviews, the park has an old portion and a new portion. Many of the sites in the new portion were concrete and they all had sewer connections. But the sites in the new portion were closer together and had less shade. We chose site 20 in the old portion which backed right up to Western Lake where we could easily launch kayaks. The lake was great for kayaking but a little too warm for a refreshing swim in July. It was tight getting a 35 foot fifth wheel into the site but once parked, we had plenty of room outside. The sites in the old portion are very secluded with high brush and small trees between each site. We could neither see nor hear our neighbors. I had issues with the 30 amp power flipping the circuit breaker when running a single roof air conditioner, hot water heater, and television. This is the first time I've had these issues on 30 amp power. We put the hot water heater on gas which resolved the problem. The bath house was clean and air conditioned but one of the three showers was not working. The beach and swimming in the gulf were great and very refreshing on the hot days. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is actually our 3rd visit to this state park We love the old Florida natural feel, shade, and privacy of the old section (our first 2 visits were in the old section), but need the full-hookups convenience of the new section this visit. The beach access is excellent (bike or drive over). Access to the little towns along Hwy 30A is also a short bike ride or drive away. The space between sites is good. The shade in the new section is limited. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

My husband and I enjoyed staying here even though the campground was a half mile from the beautiful beach. We stayed in the newer campground with water, electric and sewer but the sites in the older campground were more private with better view of the small lake. This is a beautiful beach but dogs are not allowed on any Florida Beach State Park which was disappointing to me since we had 2 dogs with us. It would be beneficial to have your bicycle with you because there are many bicycle trails in the nearby town and a faster way to get to the beach. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The state park offers a beach wheelchair for people that need it. I wish they also offered the 'Beach Scoot' like St George Island State Park for people with disabilities.

This was an unexpected pleasure! We stayed here for 7 days and enjoyed it all. Plenty of privacy as the sites are spaced nicely. Old section was nice, although some sites were small. A few back right up near Western Lake. It's only a 10 minute bike ride to the beach area, and its very nice there. The whole park has clean restrooms, showers, and pavilion areas. Sunsets were unbelievable! Water was still quite cold but managed to get legs in some. Easy in and out. Dump station there for the older non-sewer section. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The beach is wonderful, campsites are spacious, and some are right on the water. Although the new loop has sewer, we like the original loop better as the sites are wide open. During our stay, the weather was dreadful ice, rain, and freezing temperatures. Despite miles of sand, the park staff chose to close the rest rooms in our loop because the steps and deck had a light coating of ice instead of sprinkling a layer of sand. The roads are dirt. There are a number of potholes which the staff doesn't repair because they use them as speed bumps. There was a huge pothole in front or our site and after a day of rain, a small child or dog could have been lost in it. The good news is that laundry facilities have been added to the older loop during a recent remodeling. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park. Easy access in a motor home with a tow. Beaches have a nice boardwalk to the beach plus a bench to sit and look at the water and sunsets. Bath house was immaculate and warm in a cold January. Such a nice retreat from the masses on 30A. I would highly recommend this park. Sure the summer would find it packed but perfect for a winter retreat. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Campground is OK, some sites are big & paved but very open, the back loop has some nice woodsy sites but be careful as some are smaller and especially narrower than they seem on line. Everything is sand so of course it's a bit messy but that's common at state parks near the beach. Beach is fantastic, beautiful CLEAN white "sugar sand" goes for miles and miles. Nice hiking trail (1.5 miles), access to miles of biking trails across the street from the campground. It's about 1.5 mile walk from campground to beach (you can drive over if you want). We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.
