First night was in the back section (28). Very small, could not extend awning. Very dusty. No sewer. Did not like at all. Next two nights we moved to spot (54). Better but not a fan of blue rocks. Rat came into site while we were eating supper outside. Sewer hookup was a plus.

Short drive to a nice beach. Nice nature trail. Bathhouses were clean and nice. Camp sites need renovation. Noticed sites 45 and 55 were concrete and next to bathhouse. Good sites. Don't think we will stay here again until upgrade takes place. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Clean park. There's an older section that's on dirt , and a paved, newer section with gravel spots. We stayed in the newer section. The newer section had full hookups, including sewer, at all sites. The older section does not have sewer, but does have a a dump site. New section does not have much shade.... but we were camping in Dec, so it wasn't needed. But summer time, the older section has lots of mature growth and many water-front sites. This is a park of trade-offs, do you value full hookups, or shade? Paved roads to each site, or waterfront? There are not any horrible spots, but not every spot is created equal. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Road 30A is right around the corner. Plenty of shops, you can rent bikes, eat and it's very family friendly. Gorgeous area right by the water. A higher income, picture perfect planned community surrounds the park. (they filmed the Truman show in the community around the corner because of the picture perfect look) so the surrounding area is not run down or unsafe.

Overall Rating:

We very much enjoyed our stay at Grayton Beach. The campground's two loops have very different character. The old loop (1-36) is small, shady, and on dirt; it would be tight for bigger rigs. The newer loop (37-58) is much more open with spacious sites and full hook-ups, as well as gravel/concrete base, but hardly any shade. They are closing down the old loop temporarily for some sort of refurbishment in Sep 2018, so maybe some of that will change then. The difference in proximity to the beach is negligible, so don't stay in the old loop thinking you're closer. It's a walkable distance from either (0.75 mile), but easiest to drive. And what a beach it is!

Panhandle Gulf beaches are among the finest in the world, and this one is no exception. Pristine powdery sand, and inside the state park not crowded at all. Wonderful, and absolutely the best reason to come here. Actually, it's pretty much the only reason to come here, because there is little else. We hail from elsewhere in Florida, and I don't know if I'd make the long drive again when there are fine beaches closer to us, but if you're anywhere else in the South, it's a fantastic beach destination. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The "30A" corridor outside the park is primarily a long sequence of ritzy planned beach communities. Lots of restaurants & quirky shopping, all at upscale prices. At least it's not all Chick-Fil-A's and Bob Evans!

Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful state park. The sites are large, flat and well maintained with crushed gravel. We were in the 30/50 amp full hook up loop but they have a 2nd loop that's water/electric only with dirt sites. You can walk or bike to the beach (about .60 mile). The beach is gorgeous. Emerald waters with white, powdery sands. I have not seen a nicer beach. The staff was friendly and the campers were quiet and respectful. Bathrooms were clean. Cell service was good. Verizon 47d/l and ATT 16 d/l unboosted. I didn't try T mobile. OTA was excellent with most major channels plus extras. The nearby areas had lots of shopping and dining. Check out Watercolor and Seaside. They were the cutest little beach towns and reminded me a little of Key West. The only negative I could mention is the dogs were not happy that they weren't allowed on the beaches. Nor were they pleased with the abundance of sticker balls that kept getting in their feet. There is a nice nature trail at the beach parking lot that dogs are allowed on and the nearby towns were very dog friendly. There's also a very long off street paved walking/biking path that will take you into the towns. I think it was something like 20 miles in length. There's a good laundromat (EZ Coin Wash) 9 miles away. Overpriced but very clean with a decent amount of large machines (triple loaders). 2 close Publix stores for groceries. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Two loops, one for the larger rigs more open less trees full hook ups. The other has smaller sites but total privacy between sites, the down side is no sewer nor cable TV nor ability to connect to satellite TV. This is a wonderful park with the ability to drive to the beach so you can carry chairs or fishing equipment to the beautiful white sand beaches. The roads to the campground are great. The roads leading to the beach are full of potholes and in need of repair. Lots of restaurants in the area, most are over priced! We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Love Grayton Beach SP. This is the second time we've spent Christmas here. The first time was in their cabins (really they're modern duplexes). The campsites are a short walk from the beach and a number of the campsites have direct water access for canoes/kayaks off the back of the site. The park is right along County Road 30A which has a paved bike trail along its entire length. Seaside, FL (where The Truman Show was filmed) is just a mile or two to the east. There are plenty of eateries and shops along 30A. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed on lower "wooded" loop for 5 days in mid-March. Weather unseasonably cold but did not take away from the amazing location of this park. Easily one of the nicest beaches on 30A is a 20 minute walk from the sites, and activity of the resorts is just a 5 minute drive. FAIR WARNING the wooded sites are SMALL and getting in and out can be very difficult. Our 31ft Jayco with double slides proved to be too large for the space .... but we made it work. I do not recommend staying on lower loop with anything larger than 27ft. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were able to secure a campsite after checking at the gatehouse and the attendant checked, stating 2 sites would be open shortly. This is a wonderful park with a lovely sugar sand beach and many bike trails. Sites were private with water & electric. Restrooms were clean. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Grayton Beach State Park is a lovely older state park. There are really two sections. The lower older section has nice wooded sites that really set you back in the woods. But these has no sewer hook-up, just water & electric.. And these sites are pretty tight to get a large 5th wheel into. We have a 35ft rig and it took careful maneuvering to get in & if our neighbor across from us hadn't moved his truck, getting out would have been impossible. Between the narrow road and site entrance it is tight. The new section has water, sewer & electric and the sites are easier access but they are out in the open with no shade. Showers and bathrooms are easily accessible in the older sections. Showers are great and bathrooms clean. The park states it has bike paths but actually what they have is access the 10 mile path that runs parallel to Rt 30A which is the main road down through the area. It is nice but has alot of bikers & runners on it. The beach at Grayton is the star. It is pristine and glorious. We would come back but only for a week or 10days--the length of our tank capactiies. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful state park and beach with sand dunes. The loop with sewer hookups has fresh pea gravel in all of the sites and the road is asphalt. The sites in the older loop has sand road and sites. The ADA sites are concrete. Sites are very large and most have privacy. Verizon signal was LTE and very strong. We walked our dogs around the camping loops but beware of stickers. Very easy bike ride or walk to the beach. You can't see the Gulf from the sites but we could hear the surf which was nice. Would love to stay here again. Our favorite FL state park thus far! We camped here to escape Hurricane Matthew, and had a great time. We stayed in site 1 (near dump station but not an issue except for about 10 minutes in the morning when it was busy). Site was huge and shady. We extended our stay and had to moved to site 55 (no shade, ADA accessible- paved, next to bathhouse).

Beach was pristine and a short drive or bike ride away. The community of Seaside was 2 miles away and was a treat with great food from food trucks and an open area for the children to run and play with others. (Gluten Free gourmet grilled cheese!)

Camp Ranger was so helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back! We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The first of many FL State Parks we briefly called home. Love the beautiful beaches and well kept grounds. We got hit by a pretty good storm and at one point our site was like a river, but the sand absorbed the water and it was fine within the hour!! Would love to stay here again. Great Verizon coverage. Campsite was a little small, but private with fairly thick vegetation between sites. Roads within campground were "gravel-like" and were very tight allowing for little room to back into site. Lots of overhead branches to avoid, but overall a nice park with a very pretty, private beach with white sand dunes. We camped at Grayton Beach State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the "old" loop. More rustic feeling, but still nice. Gravel loop vs asphalt of the other loop. More privacy and shade. Sites are level, shaded, sand. Six-18 have partial Western Lake view. Facilities are good, staff is great. Beautiful beach with a dune hiking trail. Plenty of asphalt for biking/jogging exercise.
