Only a mile to the beach by foot or a quick 5 minute trolley tour. Park was more of a community feel than most state parks are. Our site pad was in desperate need of repair with a broken concrete pad. Not much privacy between campsites. It's all about the white sandy beaches here. No camp fire ring unless you bring your own. Thankfully there was a parking lot to put the tow dolly since there is no room at the site. Park is close to all the creatures of home, Publix, Walmart, Acme Oyster House! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

The beach! Perfect location to spend a day at the beach, convenient and close by. Go to Seaside to walk around and grab a bite to eat, travel to Santa Rosa Beach and Grayton Beach for a bite to eat at the RED BAR! Worth the wait! Local restaurants are pricey and touristy.

Been a while since I had been there, but it is still as nice as it use to be. Campsites are shady. Don't know you are at a beach !! You are in a pine forest, but get on your bike or use the tram that brings you to the beach and suddenly you are at a private sugar sand beach. They also have a secluded lake you can rent canoes or kayaks on. Also, they rent paddle boards and kayaks at the ocean. I rented a kayak at the ocean when it was flat and paddled all over beautiful clear deep water !! Had a great week !!! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice campground. Our site was spacious and separated by plenty of vegetation. No golf carts driving around, just people walking or on bicycles. The beach was not as crowded as Panama City or Destin. I definitely recommend this park. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

This is definitely a great place to camp. We camped at site 164, a back in. Cement pad, picnic table, full hookup, including cable. Our verizon signal was 3 bars for our hot spot. Excellent shade. The volunteers running the park are outstanding ! Polite, pleasant, professional. Addn'l parking spaces are available if needed. The beach here is a notch over anything we've seen (and we come from a great beach in Saint Augustine). The shuttle runs every 1/2 hr and couldn't be more convenient. You can transport your tent, chairs, etc w/o a problem. The sand is like sugar and the water is delightful. This place is definitely a keeper; just wish it were easier to get in because it's so popular; but that's what happens when you have a great product ! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Route 30 A (the road Topsail in on) is a delightful ride; about 17 miles long. Every few miles there is another housing development each with its own shopping area to walk around in. "Shunk Gully" restaurant just a few miles down from Topsail has a great 2nd floor looking out over the water. We sat at the bar; once for dinner and once for lunch. Good food, friendly bar people. Recommended.

This is a great state park, maybe because it used to be a private RV Resort before becoming a state park. It has a pool, shuffleboard, horse shoes. a great laundry room. good clean bathrooms, and did I mention, probably one of the nicest beaches any where. Almost all of the site will accommodate a large class A motor home, and are a mix of concrete or pea gravel. Some are shady and some are open. It is hard to get in, as this is a very popular park, and they have a lot of volunteers here that take up a lot of the sites. When we were there, we were told that there were 45 volunteers staying in the park. The beach is probably 3/4 of a mile from the campground, they offer a tram to take people to the beach. You can also walk or bicycle to the beach. This is our second stay here, and it won't be our last. We have already made reservations for November on our return trip. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Another wonderful stay at this gem of a state park. Sites become available 11 months before your stay and go very quickly. We were in loop 103 which features sites that are very private. A quick walk to the shuttle stop to get to the boardwalk to the beautiful white sand beach. When we were there the shuttles were starting at 9:00 and ending at 7:30. The shuttle driver checked to make sure that everyone that wanted a ride back to the campground after watching the sunset was given a ride. This was appreciated. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Goatfeathers is a great space for lunch. Under $10 for a Goatfeathers salad and 1/2 shrimp po'boy. The Blue Angels practice Tuesday and Wednesday at Pensacola NAS March to November. Allow at least 2.5 hours to get there, thru security and walk out to the viewing area. Set your GPS to the West Gate.

We love this park. To be able to camp in a beautiful yet rustic setting this near the gulf is awesome. They have been slowly improving some of the older sites since our last visit 3 years ago, removing some of the broken up concrete with level crushed rock. We enjoyed daily walks on the beach and biking around the area. Park rangers are very helpful. This is a great state park. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Biking along 30-A is awesome. They are replacing several miles of the bike trail between Blue Mountain and Grayton Beach General store - looks like it will be closed awhile so plan ahead for that.

Two nights cost us $99.94. I suppose having a pool (didn't use) and cable tv makes this State Park more expensive. A lot of sites are on the small side and close together. Staff were very friendly, helpful & professional. Some of the guests seemed snobby maybe we didn't fit into their group? The restroom near us was fair to gross. The mold in the showers is terrible. Thank goodness we didn't have one of those sites with the broken up cement it looks Dangerous. Nice staff and location will be the reasons we stay again if nothing else in the area is available. Overall Rating:

We had a fantastic time at Topsail Hill, partly because we happened to cross paths with several RVing friends there (and made some new ones), but also because it's a great campground. Our site was excellent, but as we walked through the park we found that the quality of sites really varies a lot. Our site was huge, private, and level, but there were plenty of sites that I would barely consider to be acceptable, being right next to your neighbor with no privacy and a badly broken and un-level pad. Verizon and AT&T both worked well, and there's campground WiFi at the camp store but we found it to be pretty slow. Like every FL state park we've stayed in, they accepted mail and other deliveries for us which was great. There are some nice trails through the park so we never ran out of places to walk our dog. We did get two straight days of rain shortly after arriving, and many trails and half our site were underwater for a week afterwards. They manage mosquitos aggressively and we rarely encountered them, but we did find one tick on our dog after a walk. The park is close to Walmart but a little further from other stores in town, and traffic on US-98 is awful all day long... I can't imagine what it's like in the summer! It's a short walk to the beach (or take the hourly tram) but dogs aren't allowed on the beach. There's a pool, shuffleboard, and other amenities though we didn't take advantage. Overall this is an extremely nice and well-run park, and we're looking forward to returning in the future. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

Topsail is the best state park we've ever camped. Really, it doesn't get any better than this! Deep, shady, and private sites with sewer and cable. Many hiking and biking trails. And the fabulous beach with its clean sugar-white sand. We spent a week here last year, loved it so much that we returned for a two week stay this year. Sandestin and Destin shopping areas are a short drive away, and the little beach communities of Route 30A are legendary. Topsail is the perfect combination of pleasant camping, splendid beach, and lots of nearby attractions. Come on down! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

This is a beautiful campground. It's clean, attractive, and cool. The loop we stayed in didn't have a bad site. (Which, by the way, should be the standard for all campgrounds. I don't think someone should fall all over themselves when they find something that delivers for the price. We should expect it.) The beach is to die for. So why the relatively low rating? Well, the bathhouse was old, unclean, and generally unworkable. We have a shower in our B-Class but I prefer to use bathhouses, as they're roomier and hot water quantity generally isn't an issue. This one smelled bad and the showers we're tight, not-so-clean, and generally unappealing. Not enough hooks, no bench, poor water flow, etc. I won't return unless I have a larger RV and no longer need the bathhouse. If you don't need the bathhouse then this campground rates a 10, so it's a shame for everyone who does. We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Motorhome.

This is the nicest state park we have been to. It's a mix of long/short sites and gravel/concrete sites. Most appeared to be level but did see some with leveling blocks. We stayed in site 87 and site 166. While site 87 was concrete, level and long enough for our 40' fifth wheel and tow dually, the site next to us (89) had to drive through the front of our site to get into their pull through site which was strange (there's a handful of sites with this arrangement). The site was very narrow (and took us a few tries to get into), and we barely had enough room for our picnic table due to the surrounding shrubs. The interior loops are narrow and tight for big rigs for the lower numbered sites (1-91). Site 166 was also concrete, level and long enough, and the interior loops for the surrounding sites (101-168) were easy to navigate and easy in/out for a rig our size. These sites are spacious, and the roads are twice as wide than the lower numbered sites so if you have a big rig, this is best area to reserve in. Utilities and cable tv (included!) worked well and Verizon signal was excellent. Bathrooms were spotlessly clean every day. Laundry area had eight washers and dryers and worked well. The park also has a small pool which is open year-round, but it's not heated so we couldn't use it due to the cold weather. There are miles of absolutely beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear blue water. We even saw a pod of dolphins near the shore. The park has a tram that will take you to the beach and runs 5 times a day (not sure how often during summer), which is really convenient. Otherwise, it's a ½ mile or so walk or bike to get there. They also have miles of hiking/biking/walking trails which were great. The park is in an excellent location being about 10 miles from Destin, but far enough away from the traffic and congestion to feel somewhat private and relaxed. Lots of shopping/dining/activities in the area. We cannot wait to return! We camped at Topsail Hill State Preserve in a Fifth Wheel.

Walmart is about two miles from the campground. Destin traffic is horrible even in the off season (they are currently doing road work on 98 which makes it worse). We ate at Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar in Santa Rosa Beach (off 30A) which we highly recommend. A dozen raw oysters for $8.00 which were amazing!

Probably the best State Park in Florida. Massive park with miles of trails for hiking/biking. One mile from the beautiful beaches, either walk or bike or take the tram that runs every hour or so. 3+ plus miles of private beach to enjoy.
