55+ park with many full-timers who were gone for the summer. There is a nice lodge with a big screen tv, a/c, tables for games, etc. Pool area was decent size and clean. Park is well-maintained. There is a fitness room (we didn't use this time), game room with pool table and ping pong. Laundry facilities available. Access to Silver Springs was pretty easy. A little bit of a walk if you are carrying a lot. We kayaked on the beautiful river. There is a restaurant on site which I believe is open for breakfast and lunch. Candy shop is also on site with old style candy, homemade goodies, and homemade whoopee pies. Sites are mostly paved with full hook-up. Nice streets within the park to walk or ride your bike. WiFi and cable available. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Travel Trailer.

Close to major town (Ocala) and I-75. Water park for the young ones is near-by. Not sure how close the nearest grocery store is, but the local Wal-Mart is 4 miles. Convenience stores w/in 1/2 mile.

Park is just down the road from Silver Springs State Park. All sites seem level. Nice pool and work out room. It had a pool table and ping pong table but the lodge building had a very unlevel floor. Hiking trails and fishing areas. The resort also has a gated area for longer stays. We camped with our dogs and grand kids over the summer. This is our third stay at the resort and have always had a good time. Staff are very friendly and helpful. There is also a great small family ran restaurant, great food, great atmosphere, and pricing. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Very nice and well maintained location. A storm came thru and damaged a tree. The maintenance crew was cleaning it up almost immediately. Large and reasonable laundry. Passport system. Pool as warm as a bathtub. A nice stop. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2-nights in June 2016 and wished we were staying longer. This is a very large campground with mostly permanent or seasonal sites, all very well kept up. The sites are much wider than normal and plenty long enough for our 37-foot RV and tow-dolly. Full hooks and good WiFi.

One portion of the park is on the river, we were in the Village section. We paid $24.30 a night with our Passport America discount. There are dog runs for off leash playtime. They have a beautiful pool, hot tub and sauna, also a fitness room. A nice nature trail to hike that takes you by the river. The restaurant on site on good food and the gift shop/candy store is awesome. WiFi is good, we don't use cable or satellite so can't comment. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for only 2 nights but would return for more. This is an RV resort where each site is privately owned and deeded. The sites that transient campers can use are ones not yet sold so the area you are assigned, or can request, is quite limited. Having said that, the site itself was spacious enough; most all the occupied sites contain large fifth wheels or mobile homes. The grounds are nicely landscaped especially around the pool area which is really large and spotless with a nice jacuzzi nearby and alot of seating available. There's also a rec room with pool, ping pong, and darts to play as well as a lodge with TV, seating, tables and lots of games, puzzles, or books to utilize. If you have a canoe or kayak, you can launch it right on to the Ocklawaha river on site. Another plus is a large dog run that's fenced so you can let Rover off leash. There's a restaurant on site too but only open for breakfast and lunch and we didn't get a chance to try it. OK, now for why I couldn't give it higher stars. The restrooms are just passable. The shower had quite a bit of mold and did not drain at all, to the point I thought it would flood the entire bath area before I was finished. The A/C also was minimal making it pretty warm in there. Also, when we checked in, someone escorted us to our site (via a golf cart) which was nice. However, when we backed our trailer in and hooked up to the electric, the breaker on the 30 amp tripped 3 times in 10 minutes. I tried to call the office but it was after 5pm and only got an answering machine where I tried to leave an "urgent" message as prompted but no one ever called. We were about to just move to another site (hoping no one else was due in later) but decided to try a 50-30 amp converter/adapter and that seemed to work thank goodness. I just wonder why they have no emergency type number. And there's no picnic table which is not good. But overall, a nice place to stay! We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Travel Trailer.

Rate was per night for 1 month. Beautiful, well planned, well maintained RESORT! Our HUGE site was concrete pad for rig and car with grass on rest of site. More than usual green spaces between sites on all sides! Very quiet park surrounded by state forest areas. Convenient to Ocala and every amenity needed. Staff are very efficient and pleasant. Have no negatives about this one! Would definitely stay again and again and again! No need to see before reserving! We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

This park has 3 areas: Town, Village and Preserve Estates. The newest, with spacious concrete pads and nice wide interior roads is the Preserve Estates and that's where we stayed. Unlike the other two areas, there are no park models here, so lots of wide open space. Our site was a pull in, which gave us a nice view of a lake. The laundry room is small, but plenty of washers & dryers. The proximity to the Silver Springs State Park and the Silver Springs River is what brought us to this RV park. We did several kayak trips on the beautiful, clear springs river and, although we understand wild monkeys have been seen on the shores of the river, sadly didn't see any. Plenty of gators, birds and turtles. We'll definitely come back when we are in this area again. Great park! We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice park and well maintained. The sites are large and though the roads are narrow they are fairly easy to navigate. The recreation room, club house, fitness center, shower house are all very nice and we used them a lot. There is a nice little restaurant on the property and the LP fill station is handy and reasonably priced. Most monthly sites had concrete pads to park on and the more transient sites had blacktop pull throughs.

The best thing about this park is its location, right on the Ocalawaha (sp) River. We put our Kayak in at Silver Springs and paddled the 5.6 miles right to the camp ground several times. Excellent river trip with lots of wildlife to view.

This park does have one major flaw. They have divided the park into three sections creating a bit of a class system. The park model section and the class "A" section had heated swimming pools but the transient section where we stayed the pool was broke for all but one week of our stay and even after they fixed it we found out it was not heated. Each section had its own club house and activities segregating each section.

Would rate this park higher except for the segregated feeling we got. We would stay here again. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

Nicely maintained RV Park. Mostly (I would guess 90%) deeded sites. Many year round residents. Pool (not heated), hot tub, work out room, nice laundry room (reasonable), several nice recreation centers. Problem is and this is huge if you are staying the winter, WiFi is very sporadic and at best you can send an occasional email. To complicate no WiFi if you have ATT service you get no service or a half a bar! I was in Village section and my site did flood whenever it rained and the site was muddy most of the winter. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for about 6 weeks and loved the greenway area adjacent to the resort. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our site was a pull through and adequate for our RV. WiFi was spotty. Cable and over the air TV were OK. We would stay here again. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in their motor coach only, Preserve Estates area. The sites there were very large with established grass (that our dogs loved) and a large back in paved site. Many of the sites were owner developed with beautiful landscaping. We chose the location due to its proximity to Silver Springs SP, but would stay again due to the care taken at the sites and all the facilities on-site. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Rate reflects monthly rate ($600) over 30 days. Electricity is extra. We stayed in the Preserve. All roads and sites are paved; reserved for coaches 34' and longer. This park has a great staff who are very friendly and helpful. There are many activities planned throughout each week and for the holidays. A book exchange is located at the Lodge behind the office at the park's entrance and there is one in the Preserve's Club. I'm assuming there is one at each of the other two clubhouses. Everyone we met was quite friendly and eager to help if you had questions about the area. As noted by another reviewer, no picnic table available, so bring your own if you want to cook or eat outside. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

Beautiful park with lots of things to do in the area. A nice little restaurant is right in front of the park. Had a great breakfast there. The Lodge (a meeting room?) was very nice with a big screen TV, books, and games available for campers to use. The screen porch was especially nice in the evening when the mosquitoes come out. They also have kayaks to rent. We didn't rent them, but did walk down and see the river as well as walked the Greenway which runs right through the park. All in all a terrific place to stay. Our site was paved, with FHU including cable which we didn't even watch we had so many other things to do. It appears almost all sites are paved, but some a slightly sloped, but not enough to create any issues when you set up. The only downside is that there are no picnic tables so if you like to eat out you need to bring some sort of table on your own. We have a collapsible one. There are some trees around, but lots seem to be mostly open and sunny. Many of the lots are privately owned, but the people were very friendly and helpful. There are no fire pits either, but didn't miss that was the temps were pretty warm. Highly recommend this park! We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the Preserve area and as far as the campground is concerned it is the best we have ever stayed at. Restroom, Clubhouse, Showers, Weight room, Pool (Hot Tub broke the entire time there) were all top notch. The grounds are manicured and the sites are large enough for us to fit our 45 foot motorhome with no problems. The issues here are more related to the people staying there. In the preserve they are very stuck on themselves and not friendly at all. However, the guest and people living in the older part of the park are very nice and always say hi. The people in the preserve could take lessons. We will stay here again if need be just because of the size of the sites and the easy of in and out. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.

We booked three nights, but stayed two. It rained a couple of times during our stay. Since the pull-through pad was just big enough for our 34 foot Super C, we got muddy shoes when working around or walking around the motorhome. There were no concrete patios. The Wi-Fi was very good when it was clear; nonexistent when it was raining. We were unable to use the greenway around the park because of rain and mud, so we left a day early. The park is 13 miles inland from Interstate 75, so bring food for all meals. There is a newer, gated, much nicer section of the park which would have cost us only $2.00 more per night, but unfortunately we were excluded from that section. Only class A's were permitted to camp there, and we have a Super C. Those RV sites had very large concrete sites, large enough to be both pad and patio, and a beautiful community center with pool and hot tub. This park might be a nice place to camp if you meet their requirements of having a class A, staying a minimum of one week on the class A sites, and if the weather is clear during your visit. We camped at Wilderness RV Resorts at Silver Springs in a Motorhome.
