Very tight and small spaces. We needed help from an employee to back into spot. When opening our door, it was very close to the neighbor. It seems to be a trailer park, with spots available in between the regulars. If you have a long RV, you will block the driveway for others to get through. We were only here for 2 nights. - Brenrett
Jan 2010 - $28.00
The entrance to the park is lovely. Once past that, however, its appearance is seedy. Sites are extremely close together, muddy, and people don't seem to be picking up after their dogs. The park could be nice but, sadly, there appears to be little pride in keeping the park up. - geotraveler

Yes the trees were beautiful, but sites were very tight and close to your neighbor. Also, about 90% of the campers were either full timers or extended stay. The hookups were a little confusing and we even saw sewer drains without a led. The indoor pool looked ok, but the outside pool wasn't close and was shared with the 200 homes behind this park. There is no playground for the kids. There wasn't a picnic table, no satellite or cable and we couldn't pick up any local tv stations - Georgiagirl10
Jan 2018 - $1.00
The people were nice and the spots were a little hard to get into. The Laundry was nice and reasonable. The bathhouse was ok. They could use an update and to be cleaned. There was an indoor heated pool and hot tub. We took the kids there and they loved it. The residents seemed to be pretty close knit which was nice. There was no park or dog run. There is no playground.
There are 2 parks side by side. One is for the permanent residents. This park was really cool because it had a ton of Old Mans Beard moss hanging from the tress and there were even ferns growing from the tree bark. It was very shady. Not big sites but the park seemed roomy enough. - TravelinFam

The sites are quite tight and are a bit hard to back into, and there are a lot of long termer's here, so some of the trailers are a bit run down. The park has great atmosphere, and is very welcoming. We would stay here again. - Dundee
Mar 2010 - $10.00
This is a southern refuge for many. Easily over half of the sites are full timers who have added on to their campers to the extent it is hard to recognize them as campers. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My site was indeed a pull through with a nice sized concrete patio. Full hook up: I had to arrange w/ the local CATV for service (was there for 3+ months, note daily rate is based on 1st month at winter rate and 2 months at summer rate averaged). This was a very quiet place and they had several community events: holiday dinners and parade(s). Even working nights I was able to rest during the day w/o any problems. (I might have been the noisy neighbor, with my odd hours.) I chose this place as it was very close to where I worked but would keep it in mind for a much shorter stay: though I doubt I'd be placed in the same site (be given one of the dedicated overnight sites). I can only imagine it is busier during the heart of the winter when all the residents return. All in all a very nice place which made for a nice stay. - D Ward
Apr 2007 - $29.00
This is primarily a "live-in" park for the 55 and over crowd. We stayed one night because we were visiting somebody in the area. The park was very clean and the camp store was well equipped. There was a nice pool and other facilities. Most of the sites are occupied by older trailers that are permanently with added roofs and sun rooms. There are a few sites for overnighters. It looks like a real nice place to spend the winter. - bgb1066

Nice campground,Small sites, not friendliest people staying there, but overall nice park.Women taking us to site made us park with wheels off the ground after leveling. - john55
Mar 2018 - $51.00
This is a top shelf RV park where the vast majority are snow birds staying most of the winter. We stayed in a pull thru site which was an extra wide concrete pad and long enough for both our fifth wheel and truck. Shower house was cleaned daily with great detail. A friendly staff, an immaculate pool, and several daily activities to choose from make this resort park a "ten" in every category. My only complaint is the cancellation and early departure policies are very strict and inflexible. - Ohio Camping Family
Jan 2018 - $24.00
Stayed there Jan, Feb, March of 2018. Site to my left was used as a transit site. I had seven neighbors in three months. Had issues with dogs. The grass was mowed once in three months. Complaints went on deaf ears. Once they got your money you're a number. Wifi and cable terrible. Seems no one there has any authority to handle any issues. We will not return. We are wintering elsewhere next season. - ouback708

Jun 2016 - $18.00
This is a great little quiet RV park. We have stayed here a couple of times before our current stay here in June. However, this time after checking in and being there for the day we had an issue with their electric and ended up having to replace our electronic thermosat and control unit for our A/C unit and did not get to use our 5th wheel there. The other neighbor had no issue (noticed they had a surge protector), so I won't stay here again with out a surge protector. Just a heads up... - Mmketeer
Mar 2016 - $18.00
Gated community. Half park models. Half campsites. Friendly staff. Most of the campers and park model residents are snowbirds. Nice heated pool. Lots of community activities and pot lucks. Community bonfire. Clean laundryroom. Each campsite has a little waist high covered shelf for outdoor cooking. Spotty internet. Good cell service. Sites are asphalt and level. Paved roads. Entire place is well groomed. Well placed FHU connections. - camper19709

Needed to have toppers replaced by"Stone Vos" located nearby. Campground was recommended by them. I would guess that there are only 6-7 sites for transients. Rest are seasonal/permanent sites. Sandy location. The RV next door (45' w/motorcycle on back) had to be towed out to the street. Friendly folks. - Long Island Mac
Apr 2017 - $40.00
Advertise 55+ but, families with babies lived there. NOT dog friendly, dog's must be leashed at all times no tie outs. If you go inside for a drink, they have to go with you. Marked dog walks are full of fire ants, they won't do any pest control. I know ants are all over FL. Once we had to give the dog Benadryl because the bite was so bad. Others left because management wouldn't cut the grass. We met permanent residents who didn't have a good word for the manager, cares more about money than people. Free wifi only works in clubhouse. You have to pay electric, cable, and wifi in your rv. When it rained, we had to take off shoes & roll up slacks to get from car to rv through the sand flooded drive. - 883piglet

Jan 2018 - $38.00
The only reason to go here is if you are a snowbird that likes a friendly community and plenty of activities to choose from. If you are visiting (and don't own) you will be placed "on the hill", which is a big grassy field. Yes, it is unlevel and the utilities are a little strange but that did not bother us. The focus is on activities since it is so far from any real attractions or even stores. We enjoyed the bike club, very nice people. We thought the entertainment was mediocre. There was a very talented pianist but they have to keep the volume down for all the hearing aids in the audience. The burgers at the Snack Shack are delicious, as are some of the soups and chowders. The rest of it is just okay, salads with standard lettuce, tomato, etc. with sliced lunchmeat and cheese on top. Nothing fancy. There is a nice produce market 3 times a week, great bakery twice a week and the food truck was good. Two things bothered me: the water is rusty so all my white towels came out dingy. I had to go to a laundromat in town, 35 minutes away for my new white sheets. Also, the dog park would be better if people understood dog park etiquette. One gate at a time, don't let your dogs crowd the gate when a new dog is coming, use the small dog section. I never saw anyone use the small dog side, probably because there is not a bench in there. Instead, they set aside prime hours in the big dog section for...well, honestly I think it is so people can practice agility with their small dogs. - janci
Nov 2017 - $38.00
After staying a couple of nights in Tallahassee at a county park which had great views and a horrible bathroom, we spent two nights here, which was a marked contrast. Well-maintained park with full-time, mostly seasonal over-55 residents and a variety of RVs (many Airstreams), park models and mobile homes, plus a large grassy RV area off the golf course. Spots are roomy and generally flat (it had been raining, and the area was a bit soft when we were there). No pads, tables or fire rings, although this is generally not what you'd call a fire ring crowd, so seems fine. They do now have some sites with hookups that are not shared with another rig, so that is becoming less of an issue. We were at the very back of the parking area, with a view of a creek and golf course. We enjoyed seeing the Sandhill cranes on the course. Otherwise, not much in the way of views, and pretty much no trees or shade, other than at the far side of the park where some trees separate it from the golf course. Amazing restrooms, however, that have been updated recently. Tons of amenities if you want to use them, from a dog park to hot tub and pool, tennis, golf, etc. They even have free entertainment some evenings. Obviously, this is a real draw for the folks who live there, but you can partake as well. As you might expect in a retirement community, they have a lot of rules, especially regarding where you can walk with pets. The folks in the office, and the guy who takes you to your spot are all super nice and helpful. The park seems isolated, but it's just a couple of miles to I-75, and a quick drive to Tampa, Dade City, Brooksville and other cities. We enjoyed our stay and really appreciated the first-timers discount. Certainly worth a visit and a place to consider retiring to if you're in the market! - RKR001

From the 1st day we came to Big Oaks we were treated like family. They met us at the gate and helped us park our 36' motor home. The owners live onsite and are very friendly along with the manager. We have Sprint cell and had no problems. Wifi is available close to the office and sporadically through the park. Lots of activities. We stayed for 2 months and would return again. - Gordon Banuat

This is a really nice park. The roads are paved but the sites are grass, all level. The outside rows are shady and the inside rows are sunny. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a pool, laundry and a dog park. We have already planned our next stay. - esta34950
