Best thing about this park was leaving. Discovered after we came back from dinner that the power had low voltage (our EMS was shutting down to prevent damage). Several attempts to get someone from the park to fix were not successful. Switched to a 30amp plug and had the same result. Bottom line is we spent two nights with no AC and significant interruption in our power supply. Park did not resolve the issue and offered nothing for the inconvenience (offered excuses for why the voltage was low - campground was full and they thought our EMS was causing the problem). Pull-thru site was long & level with all utilities within easy reach. Add to all this it was a holiday weekend and the park was full of people having a good time into all hours of the night. Lesson learned about this KOA - we will not be back. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

When we travel and do not know parks in the area we usually choose KOA because we can normally trust their quality for the price. We had camped at this park before during Christmas of 2014, when the rate was $40.00 per night, and truly enjoyed our stay. Due to a problem with our Motorhome on this trip, we decided to stay there in order to be able to work in the shade. On checking in we were charged $70.01 for our night. When I commented that the rate seemed a bit high, I was assured that they had made many improvements and that all of the prices in the area had gone up. According to them the Motels in the area were charging $150.00 per night.

While my brother and I worked, my wife checked motel prices just to verify what we were told and found that really good chains were charging average of $107.00. The improvements seemed to consist of new outdoor tables at each site. The restrooms had no AC or fans and were so hot that a person needed to take a shower after taking a shower just to get off the sweat. If they upgraded to the point of being worth $30.00 additional per night. I could not find or see it. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I do like the park and if you camp in the winter it is very enjoyable (if they lower the price), but they do need to improve the bathroom and bring the value to price more in line.

St. Augustine is a wonderful place to visit. Florida's oldest continuously settled city is well worth the visit.

Easy access with level sites. Low water pressure at site and in showers. Wifi was poor. Laundry was good. Showers were dirty with mold on faucets. Had pool but didn't use because seen ducks swimming in pool. Dog park was good. Convenient to visit local beaches and St Augustine. No problem with our satellite. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

The nicest thing I can think of to say about this facility is that it could have been worse. The positives, the folks were nice, the little store was clean and reasonably priced. The negatives, the whole place resembled the fairgrounds the day after the fair is over. It was run down and gross. The parking spots, I won't glorify them by calling them campsites, were dirty and tiny, and offered absolutely no privacy of any kind. The back of our site was a fence which was about four feet from the back of a run down strip mall. We had the view of a nice brightly lit billboard overhead. It was so gross it was comical. I'm embarrassed that I got suckered in to paying this much money for such a dump. I had relied on the KOA name, I hadn't done my homework. Clearly the reviews are out there, and I wish I had taken the time to check them out. Take the time to find an alternative to staying here. I'd chance it anywhere else before even considering staying here ever again. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

We came in Friday night, our spot was fairly level and paved. That was the good part of the visit. The entrance is not clearly marked for staging, more no parking signs then anything. We checked in and were told where the site was, that was about it. While getting setup a staff member drove by, no hello or welcome, not what we are used too at KOA. After setup we noticed the site across from us was empty accept for an old discarded mattress, next to that was a site with a large pile of belongings, a truck packed full of stuff and a utility trailer. We visited the office needing a few items from the store and advised them of the issues, we were told, yea the maintenance crew has gone home, someone must have thrown that over our fence and the guy next to it just sold his camper. The place is about 50% live-in's and right off A1A. Traffic is loud, the view towards A1A is the back of businesses or an old car wash. There are no activities, the club house is scary and a walk around the "lake" (drainage pond) takes you through a forgotten land with old trailers and a look into the neighbors houses at the back side.

I took our dogs to the dog park and noticed the signs were rotted and propped up against the poll that held them. The only modern/new item was a round table with 4 chairs. It looks like that was this years upgrade here.

I believe I have said enough, no we will not be back. We left Saturday morning and found a new place for the weekend. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We enjoyed our time here. It was quiet and relaxing which was surprising during Daytona 500 week. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The sites are older, but we had no problems getting in or leveling. We enjoyed the view outside our back window of the small lake.

Close to shopping and local tourist spots. We could walk or ride bikes to the beach which was less than 1 mile away.

All utilities worked fine and every request was promptly taken care of. The entry is a little tight, but we didnt have a problem.

Would return again. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Very overpriced, nothing good to say. This is a very old run down park, we ended up leaving early. The dog run appeared to be a grave yard of broken down RVs. Keep driving you will find something better. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

This park is very convenient to St Augustine Beach (1 mile easy walk or bike ride) and historic downtown. There is plenty to do in the area, which will keep you away from the campground, which is a good thing. The sites are mostly pull-through but narrow, unlevel, and asphalt pads are in disrepair. Most of the sites were shabby looking, overgrown with weeds, or full of broken limbs from trees. Large pond in middle of park was very murky looking, broken fountain, and lots of debris floating in it. Tons of ducks, which leads to tons of duck poop. Laundry facility near our site had only 1 dryer and it was out of order. Facility at the office closes at 5, the door to laundry room is locked at 4, so you can't dry any clothes in the evening. Pool area was OK. Park was very empty yet they charged me $10 for my 2 sons to spend the night. This park could use some good sprucing up. Fairly well-stocked camp store. Fire pit was at the end of the driveway--you could not sit around it or you would be sitting in the road due to the unevenness of the sites. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Depending on the KOA name we booked here for a week - Most of the sites are OK but across the "pond" it's horrendous - the dog park is a shambles - the picnic tables at each site were warped and old - this place could really use some TLC. Some permanent people have made their own improvements to their sites. Although the sign on the office says 8-6 they close at 5 p.m. Sites are gravel and fairly even - there is a drive-through back gate that is left open and not supervised which gives a security risk. Worst of all is the lack of customer service - the staff is very unfriendly and uncooperative. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We thought this would be a great place to stay after staying in other KOA campgrounds and expecting this one to have similar high standards. We were sadly disappointed. We paid about twice as much as we had just paid at another KOA in Florida. The laundry area was a mess. The clerk who checked us in was not happy with her job. The grounds person was not friendly. The pet area was unfit for our pet. The ducks were happy with their pond and showed it by making deposits throughout the campground. It would have been tolerable if we had been charged $32 a night but we paid more than twice that and felt we had been ripped off. Look around. There are probably better places than this one to camp and be close to the Atlantic. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is very convenient to downtown St. Augustine. One of the trolley tours has a courtesy shuttle downtown where you buy tickets that are good for 3 days. The sites are pretty normal size for KOA's. There are quite a few sites with shade trees, but some of the sites are narrow and you have to be careful of the trees and how you park on the site if you have slides. The pool was clean and open sun. There are paddle boats and pedal cars/ATV type stuff for rent. The one draw back are some of the tent sites on the backside of the campground flood if it rains really heavy. The staff work very hard in ensuring guests are taken care of and they seem to really enjoy working there. We would definitely stay there again. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Very disappointing for the money paid. Packed in, laundry was poor and almost ineffective. Park had a rundown feel to it, not really clean. For the money spent. We did not get our monies worth for the one night stayed. Will not be going back. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

This was our 50th RV Campground since we started our trip nearly 9 months ago. I was looking forward to visiting St Augustine thanks to some friends recommendations, And of course, it is the oldest city in North America. Our stay at the KOA was very disappointing from the moment I pulled into the campground. Our nightly rate of $67 was the most we had spent on our trip so far so I was expecting some pizzazz. Instead, I was greeted by an unhappy employee who did not want to help me and a campground full of 'Out of Order' signs. I paid a bit more for a 'premium' space, but the only thing premium was having a small 'wooded' area between you and other RV spaces. Our space was up front so we had lots of noise from the tour buses and other campers. Our picnic table and patio area was in disrepair. The space was very unleveled and there was at least a one-foot elevation difference. We had full hookups and surprisingly the WiFi was reliable (not enough for me to work on, but good enough for casual browsing). The cable TV worked, but the channels were limited (we did get two religious channels, including the infamous GOD TV). The 'play' area was pathetic, run down, and dirty. The laundry room had 20% of the washers 'Out of Order' and two out of the three dryers were 'Out of Order' our visit. The game room looked sad; half the machines were 'Out of Order'. It seemed you could not walk around the RV campground without seeing those three dreaded words, 'Out of Order'. The RV Campground is centrally located. You of course have to drive into the city but who would expect a RV Campground in a 500+ year old city? There were shops and food nearby. At the end of the day, our stay was pleasant. I could not imagine coming here again though and paying nearly $70 a night. This is a $40 per night RV Campground, not a penny more. Would I recommend this park? Not really. Would we come back? No. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.

Sadly we used this campground as an overnight stay, it is definitely a place I would go back to and spend a week. Good handicapped access, good access to restaurants, employees helpful... everything you would expect from KOA. The point of our trip was to deliver my parents from the polar arctic north to sunny Florida so the overnight stay was short. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We have stayed here several times in the past because we had very good, memorable, customer service; not any more. The gal at the front desk was beyond rude. Maintenance guy likes to weed eat near you, hitting you with rocks. When asked to please stop, he just looked at me and turned his back to me. The sites are very unlevel. We were in site 84. The full timers in the very rear of the park bring an unwanted element to the park. The rear park gate was never closed at night, so we didn't feel safe. The park itself is overall clean and well kept, maintained otherwise. Owners didn't seem to be present. Cost value for atmosphere is out of line. We will not be staying here again. We like it and the area, but can't excuse the rudeness and lack of concern for safety that is apparent. We camped at St Augustine Beach KOA in a Motorhome.
