Great location; level, sandy sites; good biking; and strong wifi at two locations within the park. Easy access to the beach and St. Augustine. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a popular state park for a reason. It is a true gem in a wonderful location. We were in Coquina loop which is about 1/4 mile from the state park beach. Other beaches in the area (St Augustine, Vilano) are within a few miles drive and allow dogs on the beach. No dogs on the state park beach. Staff was very friendly and they do a great job in maintaining the park. We observed that as campers left a site park staff were there almost immediately to clean and prepare the site for others. Very cool! There is a small store at the beach that sells some essentials and firewood. Sites at the park vary in length but a very large rig will be challenged to fit in most sites. Select your site carefully and look closely at the length listed on the state reservation website. The sites however do tend to be very roomy in width and very private. Overall a nice park in a great place. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

St Augustine during the Christmas holiday is simply wonderful. From the Christmas boat regatta to the festival lights around the city it is a great place during the holidays. We visited Cathedral Basilica of St Augistine and had a wonderful visit with a very friendly and informative parishioner (Doris). The parish itself dates back to the time of the founding of the city (1565 or so). The cathedral itself isn't as old but was still mighty impressive and a must visit location.

Beautiful campground with heavily treed foliage. Even though our site was not level and roomy (110) - most of them are. Sandy ground. Nice walk/bike ride to the beach. Huge parking area at the beach, but, no dogs allowed. Very friendly staff. Close to St. Augustine. Great location. We will definitely return. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

This is one of our favorite state park. We have stayed here twice now. There is lots to do and see in the park and it is close too all that you want to visit "downtown". The camping sites are big and secluded for the most part. Whether you are camping in a tent or a 40 foot class A RV you get the true sense of "camping out". Restrooms and showers are clean and comfortable as well. momdoc. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

A top 10 state park in the country. All sizes of back ins. Something for everyone. Lush tropical foliage. Sites nicely spaced. Convenient clean bathrooms. Roads in camping loops narrow. Beautiful beach nearby. Verizon worked well and were able to get a satellite signal. St. Augustine has a lot to offer. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Downtown St. Augustine is only a couple of miles away. Downtown has a lot of small shops. Halfway to downtown is Mellow Mushroom, a pizza place you will not want to miss.

Tips for other Campers:

Roughly 2 miles to old St. Augustine town. Again a bike is handy. Spend a couple of hours at Fort Mose north of the Castillo de San Marcus while here. And, the Sebastian winery while in town. Light house on the way to the old town is an interesting visit. Hike the short sand dune trails. Take plenty of sun tan lotion to the awesome beach.

Stayed here 3 different times and enjoyed everyone of them. All of my sites were back in and I had a little trouble because they were tight. Didn't use any of the facilities. Water and electric hookup with 1 main dump station. Beach was beautiful and close by. Minutes from St. Augustine. Visitors were quiet. We love this place. Site was a bit tough for us to navigate into easily. We are still getting the hang of this & DH always wants to move the TT just a bit more. Once in the site was nice but did get a bit of water during the storm that quickly drained off the site. Raccoons come up into the site during the evening - make sure dogs are leashed. Other campers did have issues with low hanging branches over the sites that probably cost a bit to repair.

Will go back again, different site.

We love this campground simply because it allows us to head into St Augustine, listen to live music at the amphitheater, ride bicycles to the Saturday morning farmers market and catch the sunrise over the Atlantic. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park was booked, but we were allowed to park in 'Overflow' which simply meant we were able to park in the beach parking lot with no hookups. It turned out there were cancellations so we could have moved to a spot, but we were so cozy where we were, and essentially had the whole end of the park by the beach to ourselves for the night. We toured through the campsites, each one was more beautiful than the next. You would hardly know if the campsite next to you was occupied. Live Oaks, Spanish Moss... Gorgeous! I will be back for sure. The rangers were amazingly nice and accommodating, and the facilities were impeccable. Bring the bikes. Enjoy! Don't shy away from Overflow. Fee of $28/night, but reservation fee of $6.75. South of St. Augustine with a mile long entry paved road with brush both sides, and a walking/bike path along side, a windsurfing pavilion and a kayak/canoe rental, and a fish cleaning area. Road comes to a large parking area with two nice boardwalks to the wide sandy beach. Some slow WiFi by the parking area. The large wooded CG is to the right of the entry to the beach and has 7 paved loops along a long paved road. Bring a bike for it is long distances to walk. The best loop for RV is the first Coquina loop, as these sites were more level and more uniformly wider. All sites EW and dirt surface. Biking along the other loops I saw very variable sites; many very unlevel, narrow, overhanging limbs, etc., so a RV may or not get an appropriate site for its size. There is thick brush between the ends of the loops and the Salt Run that's by the entry road, so to get to the beach its a long way to walk to the beach area. There is a dump at the entry to the CG with 3 wide parallel dumps. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.
