Great park with an easy walk to the Beach. We were in site 127 - Electric and Water. Nice privacy of bushes and trees between the sites. Some OTA channels, OK cell and no DISH. Each bath house has laundry available. In addition to beach walks, there is another nice hiking trail through a forest in the central campground. We had some rain - otherwise we would have rode on the beach and visited a cool looking old lighthouse. We will be back. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 3 days for our inaugural camp out. As luck would have it, we had rain most of the time. The sites are packed gravel/shell/sand but, while they puddle, they also drain fairly quickly. Power and water were located well. Our site was slightly off level side to side. One layer of leveling blocks took care of it. Site sizes vary quite a bit so be sure to use a proper length when reserving. Sites at the ends of the loops look to be a bit deeper and easier to back into. This is a popular campground. A reservation is essential. The beach is a short bike ride away from the campground with lots of parking. There is a small store at the beach. Pets aren't allowed on the beach but, are welcome elsewhere on a leash. We will be returning again. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Whetstone Chocolate Factory tour is interesting and informative but, avoid Mondays. That's a maintenance day for them so not much going on in the factory.

Beautiful sites with massive oaks you may have to manuever around that are spacious and private for the most part. The park is large so a bike is a must for cruising. They have a dumpster for recycling! Finally a park with no overflowing bins....Staff was friendly and informative. The Saturday farmers market was cancelled due to a Brad Paisley concert...it is supposed to be a good one. We saw three deer in Salt run early morning and rescued a juvenile green sea turtle that was cold stunned. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

Park free on this side of the bridge for an early morning ride over the bridge into the city pre crowds. Great photo opps... Visit SAFE animal shelters for some free dog/cat love and fun! Kyles Seafood Market has great seafood with a bakery and produce market located next door.

Nice campground in a great location -- close to St. Augustine and the beach. The bathrooms are clean but old and the water could certainly be hotter! Easy walk to the amphitheater for shows or Saturday morning farmer's market. We like walking the ancient dunes trail and learning about the trees and shrubs in the area. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

The tropical forest was very pleasant. Site 102 was caliche, not sand as others have stated. Pretty messy in the rain. Water connection was close to the ground, had to dig out to fit our attached water filter. Our site was not as isolated as some, would have been good used as a double with the the next site. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wifi at the store parking lot was good. We learned there are laundry facilities in the shower houses, which was not noted anywhere, after we went down the road to a laundromat.

We were lucky to get a site for 5 nights, I reserved in April for the following January. We loved the seclusion of our site (91), very tropical and no one very close. There was a huge rainstorm right after we got settled in our site and it drained very well, no puddles. The trash dumpster was a little far but we didn't mind since the dogs always need a long walk. Easy bike ride to the beach. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We really enjoyed the historic district of St. Augustine but bring plenty of change for the parking meters. It was $2.50 per hour with 3 hrs max, takes nickles, dimes and quarters. We consistently found street parking near the Memorial Presbyterian Church, an easy walk to everything. Or, all-day parking lots for about $10.

Beautiful campground with heavily treed foliage. Even though our site was not level and roomy (110) - most of them are. Sandy ground. Nice walk/bike ride to the beach. Huge parking area at the beach, but, no dogs allowed. Very friendly staff. Close to St. Augustine. Great location. We will definitely return. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a popular state park for a reason. It is a true gem in a wonderful location. We were in Coquina loop which is about 1/4 mile from the state park beach. Other beaches in the area (St Augustine, Vilano) are within a few miles drive and allow dogs on the beach. No dogs on the state park beach. Staff was very friendly and they do a great job in maintaining the park. We observed that as campers left a site park staff were there almost immediately to clean and prepare the site for others. Very cool! There is a small store at the beach that sells some essentials and firewood. Sites at the park vary in length but a very large rig will be challenged to fit in most sites. Select your site carefully and look closely at the length listed on the state reservation website. The sites however do tend to be very roomy in width and very private. Overall a nice park in a great place. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

St Augustine during the Christmas holiday is simply wonderful. From the Christmas boat regatta to the festival lights around the city it is a great place during the holidays. We visited Cathedral Basilica of St Augistine and had a wonderful visit with a very friendly and informative parishioner (Doris). The parish itself dates back to the time of the founding of the city (1565 or so). The cathedral itself isn't as old but was still mighty impressive and a must visit location.

This is one of our favorite state park. We have stayed here twice now. There is lots to do and see in the park and it is close too all that you want to visit "downtown". The camping sites are big and secluded for the most part. Whether you are camping in a tent or a 40 foot class A RV you get the true sense of "camping out". Restrooms and showers are clean and comfortable as well. momdoc. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Motorhome.

A top 10 state park in the country. All sizes of back ins. Something for everyone. Lush tropical foliage. Sites nicely spaced. Convenient clean bathrooms. Roads in camping loops narrow. Beautiful beach nearby. Verizon worked well and were able to get a satellite signal. St. Augustine has a lot to offer. We camped at Anastasia State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Roughly 2 miles to old St. Augustine town. Again a bike is handy. Spend a couple of hours at Fort Mose north of the Castillo de San Marcus while here. And, the Sebastian winery while in town. Light house on the way to the old town is an interesting visit. Hike the short sand dune trails. Take plenty of sun tan lotion to the awesome beach.
