Our positive experience matches those of other reviewers. This park is being transformed into a wonderful park. The new owners and their management team are phenomenal, and have infused the park with energy and enthusiasm. They are welcoming and helpful. The new laundry room is great. Many sites have new cement patios and shrub hedges. The roads are wide and covered with new gravel. When we were there, they were installing 4 trailers that you can rent for a stay in St. Augustine. Everything is clean, clean, clean. And this is just the beginning, they have great plans for more. All of this has been done in only 5 months! If you happen to be there on a Friday, there is a camp fire, and Saturdays live music (which was really quite good) on a stage near the camp fire. Bring your own chair, kick back and enjoy. We requested and received a shaded site under an old oak tree draped in Spanish Moss. If you like sunny sites away from trees, they have those as well. This park is a diamond being polished, and worth a visit. Added bonus - it is only 15 minutes from historic downtown St. Augustine! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

De Leon Pizza is good and about 5 minutes away. It is next to a movie theater. There is a Publix grocery 10 minutes away. Historic St. Augustine is 15 minutes away with lots of activities, history, tours, boat tours, restaurants, etc. There is a visitors parking garage downtown that was $12 for the day. St. Augustine beaches are nearby and allow dogs on leashes (unlike most Florida beaches). You can drive on some of the beaches, there is also off beach parking.

Nice park, new owners working hard to upgrade things. Pad was hard gravel and pretty level. New concert patio area. WiFi work fine. The staff was very helpful in booking tours for the area and or places to see and eat. Puppy play area was nice. Park was clean and little dusty from the gravel roads but plenty of room to make those wide turns. Water/power were good. Nice outdoor music on fire on Sat. Will return! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Go to the Ice House for a great lunch and do take the trolley tour!

Friendly staff. Clean. Some sites have concrete patio with landscaping. Most sites grass. My site was slightly not level. Easy access hook-ups and cable TV. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Limited WiFi and then you had to pay. Nice clean laundry but expensive at $2.25 to wash. $2.25 to dry. Very close and convenient to downtown St Augustine. Some road noise since it is next to a main road but not enough to bother me. Has a nice Dollar General Store at the entrance off the highway. Has an easy access propane fill station. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a park that is fairly large and has nice pull through sites with a concrete pad, grassy area and picnic table. The units are close but not unreasonable and they are staggered so one does not look directly into the next unit. Could be problems in heavy rain for some sites. The location is not far from Saint Augustine and the price is reasonable for this area. The WiFi worked okay for a couple days then wouldn't let me log in, it's one of those free daily login sites with limited usage. Very close to town with shuttle pickup to the downtown trolleys. We are 60 feet long with motor home and car hauler trailer and fit well in the pull thru. Would definitely stay again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Perfectly located, you can bike to historic St Augustin in 4 miles through bike paths.
The campground is surrounded by luscious tropical foliage, it is secluded, quiet and nicely kept.
The owners are super nice which is a plus.
Among some of the amenities you will find a dog park, a 1 mile hiking trail, a gorgeous pond, and a camp stage with performances on Saturday.
Just perfect for us! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

You must see St Augustin. The oldest city in the US. Absolutely beautiful!

It's an updated RV park located behind a Dollar General store. The front of the park is near the highway. We were in a premium spot in the back, on slightly unlevel gravel and a cement patio. Our neighbors were close to us on the one side, where we hooked up. They offered a dog park and a natural walking area in the woods. On weekends they had a fire pit and musical entertainment, which was very enjoyable. There were tents to class A's staying here. We had a nice week while visiting St. Augustine. Roads were not tight. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

The new owners have done a lot of improvements since their ownership and constantly working on improvements. We checked this park out (formerly Indian Forest Campground) and there is no way we would have stayed there. The time we checked it out there may have been three campers there.

There seemed to be a lot of upper scale motor coaches, I assume because of the park having so many pull-through spacious sites. The park stayed pretty full while we were there for five days. You have an escort to show you to your site and help with parking.

I noticed very few children compared to most parks and that was great to me.

We go to St. Augustine around four to five times a year and we will stay at the Compass RV Park again. Access to everything is just minutes away and less traffic on 207 than on 206/16 and back to I-95 just minutes away. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Nice level spacious sites. New owners making great improvements every day. Very accommodating staff. 4 miles to downtown and shuttle service comes to park. Will definitely be repeat customers. A true gem! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Use shuttle to go downtown. Although there are parking garages, there is very congested traffic.

This is clearly a campground in transition - for the better. The new owners are making improvements on an ongoing basis. The roads have been resurfaced with crushed stone as have many of the sites. Some leveling is required. The new patios are being accented by new plantings and mulch. Our section was spacious and well maintained. Power, water, and sewerage hookup was fine. Wifi was good with many repeaters.
Some sites in the front section are quite close and I believe they are scheduled for renovation. Some could actually be combined.
The park's location is ideal. Just a few miles from Rt 95 and five miles from the historic district of St. Augustine.
Overall, with the ongoing improvements, This should become the park of choice when visiting St. Augustine. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

St Augustine is a must see and worth a few days visit. The visitor center has an excellent parking garage, although a bit pricey ($12 for all day). The was too on the first floor for my F250. There are also a few oversize lots elsewhere in the city.

Please note, this park is under new owners since December of 2015. The updates and changes are huge!

We stayed 2/27 for one night after leaving the KOA due to seriously unsatisfactory conditions. I called Saturday morning and the lady that answered the call, took the time to look and find us a spot. We packed up and moved to Compass. Wow, what a difference. We pulled in to see a nice clean wooded modern camp ground. Check-in was quick and easy, they explained everything including the free community campfire and live entertainment that night. Next, we were escorted to our pull through site. It was wide, clean, and honestly the most level site we have ever pulled into. This was a standard spot so it had a gravel pad, picnic table and plenty of room for our TT and Tow vehicle. The utilities were new, hook-ups clean and easy to get too. They included 50 and 30amp connections, as well as a cable connection. The sewer connection was new, (not cracked and difficult to connect) and right in line with the other connections.

After getting setup we took a walk. We found the dog park, this is new too. It is clearly marked, bags and other amenities such as dog toys and a few training steps and jumps were setup. The dog park is big and fenced and there is plenty of room for them to run.

Driving into St. Augustine is only a short 15 min ride depending on the traffic.

Saturday night we checked out the live entertainment at the stage area. It was a group of 3 performing live music, bring your own chair and beverage of choice. We stayed for a bit and listened, not too shabby.

The campground is just off the hwy but it was quiet at night and we slept well. I did not see many live-ins, maybe one or two, but they were in good condition. The park was clean and up to date.

The laundry was new and spotless, bathrooms were also great. Request a free fire ring if you want a real fire in your site.

We booked another stay for the Easter weekend and can't wait. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

St Augustine is a fun place, weekends can be crazy, arrive early and look for parking fast.

New owners are really making a difference in this park. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and escorted to our site. Our site, gravel, was very level and we had no problems setting up. We were in the back of the first section which was a little tight, but we were comfortable and the site worked for us. All utilities worked well. Since this is a good sized park, there are several bathhouses and laundry rooms. The laundry room closest to our site was like new. All new washing machines and dryers performed well, but a little high at $2.25 a load. But I was willing to pay for new, clean machines. I did not use the restrooms or showers but my husband did and he rated them very clean. We enjoyed the community bonfire and weekly singing. We were so pleased with this rv park we extended our stay here from 5 to 10 days. The park is centrally located to shopping and only takes about 15 minutes to get to the historical downtown. The owners are constantly upgrading this park. Some sites have concrete patios and nice landscaping. We were told that gradually all patios will be concrete. The dog park was located very close to our site and convenient for exercising our pet. The day we left a light was being installed in the dog park. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

A must do in St Augustine is the trolley ride. You can buy tickets in the park office and a shuttle will come pick you up Take the tour of Flagler College. It is worth the price. There are so many things to do and see in this great city. If you have a 4x4 vehicle, a ride on the beach is a must and lots of fun. You can take your pets to this beach.

This campground has a new site, which we were in, next to the washrooms with the brand-new laundry room. We were in a very small trailer and this site fit us perfectly. It is an "extra" site, so we were happy to be accommodated. There are fire rings that the office will bring to sites if asked..some have them, some don't. This site did not have one, but we were happy to join in at the group fire pit site as it was nice to have the company of other campers.

This park is close to the attractions in Saint Augustine and also there is a shuttle that will pick up and return campers to the office once one purchases a pass to the hop on/hop off tourist train....a great service!

We enjoyed the group fires and musical entertainment on Saturday nights. And the brand-new laundry room was a delight. There is a future swimming pool in the plans but we did miss not having one. Front desk staff are friendly, very accommodating and keen to make this park, under new ownership, the best in town. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

New owners are improving the park everyday! They provided free WiFi, free cable TV, pull-thru sites (some with brand new concrete pads almost the length of your RV...ours is 40ft) The setting is very quiet with lots of shade trees, a pond, a fenced in dog park, very clean laundry facility and the staff are all very friendly and informative. They also had a very nice New Year Party around a campfire and a two man band played. They are located just a few minutes off of I-95, but close to St Augustine. We loved our week stay and met lots of great folks from all over the U.S. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

The rate we paid was a weekly rate $270 per week inc taxes, equals $38 P/N for W & S and 50 A elect. Nov, 14th,2015 they do offer discounts for AAA, Goodsam and FMCA, they do not offer any discounts for the weekly rates. This is not a vacation destination park, ( no pools, hot tubs, tennis courts or playgrounds) They have WI Fi however it is extremely slow at times, but a nice place to stay while visiting Saint Augustine, 6 miles down the road from the campground. the park is not overrun with full timers living here. We are happy here at this campground, we were pleasantly greeted upon arriving, I requested to have a site with satellite service and was given one. perhaps 1/4 of the sites will be able to receive it so you may want to call ahead as far as you can The campground is kind of old and a bit run down but quiet; they have two sections. if "quiet" is important you may want to request a site in the rear of the campground. away from rt 207. Our site and many others are kind of in a field with a little gravel and grass sites with rag grass. It has not been raining here for a week so everything is fine, I can imagine that if it rains heavy it may get wet and sloppy at the sites. most sites if not all will fit large motorhome, ours is 43 feet and is not a problem. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Pull through sites with 50 amp and full hook up. That is a bonus. Dish Network and Verizon worked well here. Quiet and well maintained. Good place for a base while exploring the area. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The hop on hop off is a great way to see the city but the ghost tour was a disappointment. There is a new pirate museum that is well done.
