Great location in St. Augustine. Grounds a bit messy but bathrooms very good. Improvements visible and more coming. Wouldn't allow me to move to vacant site with sewer hookup because it would "break up" the availability of the new site, even when someone left early for emergency??? Somewhat tight. Trolley to downtown sites stops at Compass. Overall acceptable but will not return. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

This is an exceptional RV park. When we pulled in one of the employees came out with our paperwork and parking pass. We didn't even have to get out of our vehicle! That's a first. We got a spot in the Oasis loop which is less than a year old. All of these spots had pavers and we even had a separate parking area also with pavers. We had a corner spot. There was a small pond about 100 yards away which was very peaceful to sit by. All staff was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. A nice feature is if you want to tour historic St. Augustine you can buy a 3-day trolley pass for $25 and a they will come and pick you up at the park. Of course, they want to get a lot of people downtown to spend money. It's very "touristy" but still fun. We came from a KOA in St. Petersburg where the facilities were pretty bad so this was a little slice of heaven! I highly recommend this RV park. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park, however the cost for a weekly stay was the most expensive of any of the 100+ parks we have ever stayed at around the country. We had a pull thru on gravel and a concrete patio. Free WiFi was so-so, cable TV was good and the fitness center was very nice. The interior roads are two way which can make things exciting since the roads and turns are tight in areas. The park is convenient to I-95 and is gated. The Oasis Section appears to be the nicest section with brick pads and the fitness center area is nicely landscaped. Folks were very helpful and the front office very friendly. Nice site escort service. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:
St Augustine is close by and historical with lots to keep one busy. The World Golf Hall of Fame was excellent and 12 miles away.

Rate reflects AAA discount. Stayed 1 night while heading further south. Very convenient to I-95, about 2 miles from exit, along State Route 207. Sites bordering that road (#s 1-6) may be a bit too noisy for some. Staff is helpful, meeting you as you pull in, and escorting you to your site. Restrooms/showers were very clean, plenty of hot water, and good pressure. There are 3 sections to the campground: (1) The Oasis, the fanciest section with a 28-day minimum reservation; (2) The Pond, with a 5-day minimum; and The Grove, with no minimum. Not sure if that is limited to reservations, or is enforced even if there is no reservation for the site. Needless to say, that type of durational segregation may not be consistent with everyone's preferences. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

This has to be one of the friendliest and most service oriented parks we have visited! We were greeted with a smile and "happy to have you with us" welcome, and didn't even get out of the coach to register, as they came out, and even climbed a ladder to reach my window with my packet. Our escort was friendly and funny, and the entire staff made us feel welcome. Brand new pool, corn hole game, music pavilion, and Add to that weekend campfires and live entertainment, and a fabulous Sunday breakfast buffet for $5....we will definitely return. This Park is under new management and they are doing a terrific job. Oh yes.....free shuttle bus goes to St Augustine, and they have a good deal on the trolley pass to buy at the park. New section is quite impressive, with pavers and wide spaces. Highly recommend. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

Take advantage of tour bus service in St Augustine. Wonderful history and tour guides/drivers are local. Many free sites to visit. Can use tour bus ticket as local transportation once you are in the city. Great restuarants. Harry's was my favorite. Missed Flagler and Fort tours so will take those in on my next trip. Did take the distillery and winery tours. Per night rate of $50 is with taxes.

These folks are really trying and making headway. They're just not there yet. Give them another two years and they might be there. Staff was very friendly. Sites offer no privacy. Park was full and electric power was less than good. Couldn't run AC and microwave or AC and hair dryer without my Progressive power manger shutting everything down. A real PIA! When you receive confirmation of your reservation, the management states behave or you are asked to leave. No time outs. One violation and you're out of there. Please tell that to our neighbors who came home at 12:30 am and woke us up with loud talking. Stayed here for a week and I don't think we'll be back. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. Camp lot clean and very accessible. Loved taking trolley into town. They had lady who lived there that would look after your dog if you thought you were going to take longer than you thought for the day which proved to be a godsend as I had several days when my time got away from me but I didn't have to worry about my dog and do things in 2 trips. Would definitely return. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

This was one of the nicest parks we've visited. They are expanding, with a new area called "The Oasis" (bathhouse and laundry area being built now). As others have noted, the check-in is very slick, with an informational packet already prepared and a guide to your site. There are daily activities, like exercise classes, line dancing and movie nights, and a $5 breakfast on Saturday. We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Motorhome.

The park is in rapid transition from an old outdated park to a modern, well appointed facility. It will probably not be a destination resort, but does not need to be to be successful. As it is so close to St Augustine which is a great destination on its own. The Park is divided into three sections: The grove, which is the old section used for transients of less than one week or less. It's average, but improving slowly. Our site was nothing special - just adequate for three nights. The second section, the pond, seems to be for stays of a week or more. It is quite nice, all level and well spaced. Our last stay (two years ago) in the pond was excellent. The third area, the oasis, is new and excelled for all sizes of rigs, paving stones, and patios. I believe the sites are for longer than week stays. They are even building a central activity and exercise center. Big rigs are easily handled in the pond and oasis sections with plenty of space. Some big rigs are also accommodated in the grove but with not as much space. Access and room to maneuver are very good everywhere. As mentioned elsewhere, the staff is exceptional with a great checkin process. Although, I was not excited about our site, I expect to be able to give this park my rare excellent rating in the future. We'll be back! We camped at Compass RV Park (formerly Indian Forest Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Your GPS will probably screw up the easy entrance to the park by asking you make a u-turn. Exiting RT I95, take state 207 towards St Augustine and turn left at the Dollar General store. You must visit St Augustine. Great history, restaurants, and shopping. Go to the fountain of youth park - very pretty.

This is a really nice campground in St. Augustine. Last year on our way south, we stayed at another campground in the area, but it wasn't nearly as nice, nor as well located. Although we were in the "Grove" section, the older area of the park, it was perfectly adequate for our needs (staying less than 5 nights). We arrived after dark and an escort takes you to your site, which is a great service. This was past office closing hours, too. Nice RV park that is getting nicer all the time. Owners are putting a lot of money into making this be great. We had level, gravel pull-thru site with full hook-up 50 amp, cable, wifi, a cement patio with picnic table. Pull-thru and back-in sites are large. Some sites have fire pits. Some sites are near road, but most are away from road and quiet. Trees are well trimmed. There's a security gate.
Check-in is done ahead of time so upon arrival it is very slick...you don't even need to get out of your rig. Someone leads you to your site, gives you your paperwork and the entrance card key. There are little fences hiding neighbor's sewer and hook-ups and plants and bark around each site. Pool should be ready for use soon. Rec room is nice & they have an outside gathering area with tables, chairs, a large fireplace and plenty of heaters scattered throughout. New section (under construction) is really great: very level brick sites with patios. Internal roads are large. Lots of activities. Service is excellent: they are really trying to go above and beyond! Definitely will stay here again. Be sure to follow their directions to the entrance: GPS will not guide correctly. We

We recommend are Castillo deSanMarcos, Flagler College, St George Street, Ligtner Museum, St Augustine Distillery & St Sebastian Winery. Eat at Harry's - 10% coupon in flyers. I recommend that you take start early the first day of your trolley & take the complete tour. You can also purchase tickets at 50% on groupon for the Lightner museum. Make sure if you go to this museum that you are there at 2PM for the live music exhibit. I am not a museum person but this one is worth it!
Thebeeme53 • May 2017 -
While visiting we would recommend; The Fountain of Youth, Castillo de San Marcos (also the perfect time to visit the center of town), St. Augustine Alligator Farm Zoological Park, St Augustine Lighthouse. For dining; The Manatee Cafe, Present Moment Cafe. If you kayak you can launch from the area of the lighthouse, kayaking in Salt Run was very nice. If you would like to walk your dog on the beach there is a public access / parking at Jack's BBQ, 691 A1A Beach Blvd, St Augustine, FL 32080.

The campground is about 3 miles from historic St. Augustine. The campground can arrange for a bus to pick you from the campground in the morning and take you to the Old Town Trolley tours. Its a great way to travel around the town without having to worry about driving or parking and you can hop on or off anytime. The bus will take you back at the end of the day as well.

Bring your own fire ring as many sites dont have them. Not much for kids todo in the park but good location to area attractions.

St Aug is a real treat, a two day town. Parking is a problem, plan in advance or endlessly circle around. In early December you can get to most sites of interest.

If you are planning an overnight stop, definitely change your stay to two or three days and take advantage of all that St. Augustine has to offer. If you don't feel like driving into town, the trolley stops at the office and will get you there and back.

St. Augustine has lots of offer everyone. If you enjoy touring and like using a Segway then call Segs by the Sea for a fun tour. You will love the tour guide(s). Also explore lots of unique restaurants: Ice Plant and Cafe Alcazar [eating in the deep end of a swimming pool] to name a couple of them. Publix isn't far. General Dollar is around the corner.
SerenityRVing • August 2016 -
Flea market every weekend within a mile. The good one that has individual stands of house hold items outside or the more commercial stands inside. Its very big. Took us two trips to see everything. Dollar General is in walking distance. Publix is a few miles away. HJistoric Downtown St. Augustine is a MUST SEE. its absolutely beautiful. You can also have the mini van pick you up at the park and drop you back off so you can tour all of the city. You can stay how ever many hours you want. Very convenient.

Music Saturday nights. A free shuttle to the trolley service in St. Augustine is the way to go. I believe tickets were $25.00 per person for all day, they let you get on and off the trolley in the historic district all day and then transport you back to the campground when you're done. Parking in town can be a real pain and also costs a lot. This is an easy way to enjoy the day. There is also a Dollar General store right at the entrance of the park for anything you may need.
Chrislorl • May 2016 -
There is a Dollar General within easy walking distance open 8am-10pm everyday. Close to all the attractions in St. Augustine. Lots of food choices. We made sure we were back at the campground for the live music while we were there. Treated to some great music by Wayne and the Band called "Moondance" All we can say is awesome time, awesome park, awesome staff!

Go to the Ice House for a great lunch and do take the trolley tour!

De Leon Pizza is good and about 5 minutes away. It is next to a movie theater. There is a Publix grocery 10 minutes away. Historic St. Augustine is 15 minutes away with lots of activities, history, tours, boat tours, restaurants, etc. There is a visitors parking garage downtown that was $12 for the day. St. Augustine beaches are nearby and allow dogs on leashes (unlike most Florida beaches). You can drive on some of the beaches, there is also off beach parking.

You must see St Augustin. The oldest city in the US. Absolutely beautiful!

The hop on hop off is a great way to see the city but the ghost tour was a disappointment. There is a new pirate museum that is well done.

Limited WiFi and then you had to pay. Nice clean laundry but expensive at $2.25 to wash. $2.25 to dry. Very close and convenient to downtown St Augustine. Some road noise since it is next to a main road but not enough to bother me. Has a nice Dollar General Store at the entrance off the highway. Has an easy access propane fill station. I would definitely stay there again.

A must do in St Augustine is the trolley ride. You can buy tickets in the park office and a shuttle will come pick you up Take the tour of Flagler College. It is worth the price. There are so many things to do and see in this great city. If you have a 4x4 vehicle, a ride on the beach is a must and lots of fun. You can take your pets to this beach.

St Augustine is a fun place, weekends can be crazy, arrive early and look for parking fast.
Chrislorl • February 2016 -
St Augustine is a must see and worth a few days visit. The visitor center has an excellent parking garage, although a bit pricey ($12 for all day). The was too on the first floor for my F250. There are also a few oversize lots elsewhere in the city.
SchnoodleCamp • February 2016 -
Use shuttle to go downtown. Although there are parking garages, there is very congested traffic.

St Augustine itself has enough touristy attractions to keep one busy for days. There is a flea market near to the RV park on weekends. The nearby Dollar Store does not carry local newspapers so one must drive to the gas stations down the road.
